WR Josh Gordon, KC (2 Viewers)

Since Rapoport essentially works for the league I think his reports carry extra weight.

Gordon's test being in the 2013 league year is very problematic and I think 8 games may be the best we can hope for.

Since Rappaport works for the league, I think his reports are more likely to say what the league wants them to say.

I think Gordon will be all or nothing. I don't see any logic that ends in a reduced suspension. Now payment for games missed is another issue.

Guarantee Gordon will get something. Either 4,6 or 8 games.
On what are you basing this guarantee? And on what logic? He's already gotten "something."
Just saying he isn't going to just step right in and play if the rule gets changed. He will be sitting out several games.
For what?
He may not be able to break his contract with the car dealership...

Yes, and that carries weight IMO.

People keep saying it's all or nothing but I disagree. If they come to an agreement on an adjusted or reduced suspension for Gordon then that's what they do.

He may not get immediate reinstatement like those suspended in this league year but a reduction definitely appears to be on the table.

Lmao at 8 games. You guys just pulling numbers put of your asses now?
Lmao at people who lmao at everything.

Jay Glazer and others have speculated 8 games so it's not just out of asses. Plus even if it were, the NFL sometimes seems to pull their suspension lengths out of their asses themselves.

Right, and recall what Peliserro stated yesterday. If the NFLPA has its way, then Gordon's suspension will be lifted.

Union wants standards of new policy enforced on any player suspended since March 11, 2014. Lot of guys could have cases reviewed.

This is from Will Caroll @injuryexpert. He's a pretty credible source when it comes to this stuff..

@injuryexpert: Don't rush to pick up Josh Gordon his drug test took place in league year 2013. The new league year seems to be cutoff in talks.
If NFL and NFLPA came to an agreement on testing on March 12, second day of new year, would they pursue suspension for transgressions taking place in 2013?

It sounds to me like it's 100% certain that IF it passes, Gordon's suspension will 100% be reviewed and might be adjusted or eliminated.
Mort meant that with probability 1 the HGH/ drug policy being discussed includes a provision that will result in the immediate reinstatement of Gordon, Welker, etc. The inference is that Mort's sources are infallible, the particular provision that we're concerned about has already been agreed upon, etc. However, he implied that it's still uncertain that both parties agree to the overarching deal.
Do we think that his source is the same source from Monday who told him a deal had been reached and the vote would be Tuesday? Because that guy doesn't seem all that reliable.

Everything Jay Glazer says is out of asses....

If it happens this week, his suspension will be reduced to one game. Time served. If it happens next week, 2 games time served and everyone will be happy. That's my out of ### guess after listening to all the pundits.

Rapaport just said on air that his suspension could be 'reduced'. Now if they give him 8 games , that's a disaster to those going all in on these waivers tonight or last night.
Now I didn't go all in for Gorden, got him on the cheap before Thurs night game BUT, if I get Week 9+ with Gorden even if I sent all my money, I'm a happy man. You just need the team to get you into playoff contention without him. Then BOOM, I'm going to Gordon all over my league.

On another note, I will need to find a new hobby when this thread dies...I won't know what to do with the time.

Glazer has broken numerous stories that have turned about to be true but if you want to think everything he says is out of asses and compare it to yourself then go with it.

I'm going to throw this out of my ###, since I haven't heard it yet

BOLD PREDICTION:

If it happens this week they will retroactively give a victory to Cleveland and a loss to Pittsburgh because it would be assumed he would've went 10/120/2 on Sunday.

Also, if you started him last week you will get those points added to your team. :moneybag:

even 8 weeks of Gordon is still better than 16 weeks of Fitzgerald, Cruz, etc..

I'd never look a gift horse in the mouth..if I got Gordon off waivers tonight, for a power-packed final 8 weeks of the season, I'd be thrilled..Gordon coming back earlier is just icing on the cake..

That's how I see it too. Don't think it's going to quite be 8 though. I'm thinking 4 or 6

I was just clarifying his statement. If Mort's credibility is dubious, then his report shouldn't change your opinion much.

I have to believe the NFLPA wants Gordon playing and the NFL wants HGH testing (and probably Gordon on the field as well). People really think the NFL is going to haggle about Gordon? I'm failing to see the reasons here outside of grumps who don't have him on their fantasy team right now.

If Gordon gets re-instated, in one of my FPC leagues I will have these 6 WRs - Antonio Brown; Josh Gordon; Andre Johnson; Larry Fitzgerald; Marques Colston; Percy Harvin.....I know none of you care about my teams so keep those comments with you.....but I will have no clue which two to bench every week....my head will indeed explode....and I know you want to know the rest of my team - I still have McCoy; Frank Gore; Moreno and Woodhead at RB and Nick Foles at QB.....

CHAMPIONSHIP!!!!!
My team is way better than that.
