GM's Thread About Everything/GM's Thread About Nothing (25 Viewers)

I think I got this as I speak Sheriff Bart....

- Cool guy starts a thread about his fatty liver and bares his soul to all.
- Most people offer heartfelt messages of encouragement or share their personal stories with their experiences with liver issues.

- One poster takes the opportunity to inform the cool guy that he's probably an alcoholic and proceeds to share links about what booze abuse does to your liver.

- Said poster has a troubling reputation for soliciting money for cancer from another website, when in fact there was no cancer. Not sure if that's true or not true, but that's a tough reputation to shed and were it me and I didn't do it, I'd fight like hell to ensure the truth was told.

- Our hero pointed out the hypocrisy of calling somebody an alcoholic while at the same time carrying around a reputation as a scam artist.

Although I'm not sure if it's hypocrisy or Alanis Moresette Irony.

I haven't been the fatty liver thread for a while, but if said poster is who I think it is, she didn't solicit money for cancer. She claimed to have been in a horrible, life-threatening car accident, which never occurred. Some people gathered money for her, and allegedly she took that money despite the whole thing being a sham. Not sure if she really took the money, but certainly she made up the accident at least as an attention-getting device and maybe committed fraud in taking money for it as well.

After detailed 3-dimensional modelling, trajectory calculations, spatter analysis, etc., I've come to the conclusion that my 10 year must brush her teeth by squeezing the toothpaste directly into the sink bowl and then dragging her face across it.

There's no other possible explanation for the sea of Colgate that greets me every morning.

Now she 'has cancer' and mentions it a whole lot.

I live with my dad and my 9 year old daughter. I sometimes go to the gym at night and tell my daughter to brush her teeth while I'm gone. When I get back she shows me a video on our tablet of her brushing her teeth as proof. A few days ago I realized that her hairstyle was slightly different in the video, and I figured out that she had simply prerecorded herself brushing her teeth in several different outfits. While I was fairly impressed at this, I kept a straight face and explained to her that when I was a kid, grandpa would beat me savagely with a set of jumper cables whenever I didn't brush my teeth. Since then she's been brushing several times a day on her own.

Oh boy. I can't even...

So...I'm in another one of those "do you go to the funeral" moments. This one is a lot tougher for me since the person in question was someone I adored, as opposed to my grandfather's not-very-nice wife. I won't bore you all with the logistical nightmare this would be, especially given we're overseeing my mom's house and animals right now as she is out of town again for 11 days taking care of my grandpa (who is giving the albatross $40K, by the way). I'm really struggling though and feel like I have to make it work. For future reference, getting to Urbana, IL is not that easy if you are...well, anywhere not in Urbana, IL.

I emailed my cousin earlier today, not expecting or wanting a response, but just because I knew that, even if I had no idea of the "right" words, I should give some words. He responded and said, in part: "She was amazing. Jody really did look up to you and marveled at all the adventures you have had in your life and tried to duplicate them. In fact, we were scheduled to arrive in Cuba today for a planning trip in advance to taking students there next year. She was always searching for adventure and meaning and impact in life. I certainly understand if you can’t make it here Saturday and will channel your love and positive thoughts to her."

Yeah, I need to go.
Definitely good that you are going.

Fly into Chicago and drive the 2 hours?

When you're in a stall, dumping and you finish up right after your neighbor, you give him a minute to wash his hands and leave the latrine before you exit your stall, right? You don't get up immediately and make chit chat after you've both just pood next to one another. I mean, we live in a society, don't we?

I stopped at a Wawa for lunch today and they had metered parking there. Except I noticed that the handicapped spots weren't metered. What's up with that? Did they just decide that handicapped people can't afford to pay? Or is it that they feel like folks with handicaps already got a raw deal in life so they'll cut them a break?

Metered parking at a gas station?

No gas station. Just convenience store. But it's next to a train station in Princeton.

I woke up the other day and my belly button was itchy. I went to scratch it and there was stuff in it. It was this like crusty stuff that was like it was some dried up blood and some clear booger-like substance. Have now had it 3 mornings in a row. How soon am I going to die?

Do they reimburse customers for a limited amount of time or are the first 15 minutes free or something. Otherwise, more like "inconvenience store".

Top 5 marker for ball cancer. Sorry.

Maybe you scratched it too hard while you were sleeping?

You should wear mittens when you sleep.

Nope. $0.25 per 12 minutes.

i believe the handicap placard exempts them from any parking laws other than fire hydrants. they don't have to pay at metered spots either.
