If you could change the outcome of one play, what would it be? (1 Viewer)

2013 NFC championship, Kaepernick completes a td JUST past the fingertips of Sherman to Crabtree. 49ers defeat the hated Seahawks on their home field. I don't care what happened after that, it would have been completely fulfilling as a fan AND I'm convinced this past year would have gone very differently and Harbaugh would still be there.

Bo Jackson would have been pushed out of bounds.
I've been reading very reply in this thread, and trying to come up with what my answer would be. Like most, I was focusing on a play that changed the result of a single game. This is the absolute correct answer, thought. Good though, Comfortably Numb. We can only imagine what this career could have been.

Raheem Moore being out of position on Flacco's late game TD pass in playoffs a couple of years ago. That Bronco team was stacked and was Manning's best chance at a Bronco SB title. NE would have come into Denver for the AFFCCG, where they are beatable. And then, a beatable SF team in the SB.

My wife and I flew in for the game and froze our asses off in 2OT for that crap.
funny how some people still blame Moore.....what about taking a knee with time left and 2 timeouts because you were in "shock"......isn't that why you pay Manning 20 mil a year......?.....do you think Elway would have taken a knee?......how about Manning throwing the pick in OT to set up the game winning FG....?....how about Von and Elvis getting zero pressure on the QB all game....yeah Moore got beat, but that's not what cost DEN the game...
well, sure there are lots of reasons they lost, the Moore play probably being the least in the grand scheme of things. Still - if there was one single play that ruined everything, it was that one.

Jim Leyritz home run off Mark Wohlers in '96 World Series.

or perhaps either of these plays from '91 World Series.

Lonnie Smith stops running in '91 World Series.

Kirby Puckett robs Ron Gant in '91 World Series.

It doesn't help that both Leyritz and Puckett were eventually revealed as pretty crappy human beings.

While I'm thinking about it a special up yours to Kent Hrbek and Eric Gregg.

Chicago ahead 30 and holding a 3 games to 2 lead in the best of seven series, several spectators attempted to catch a foul ball off the bat of Marlins' second baseman Luis Castillo. One of the fans, Steve Bartman, reached for the ball, deflecting it and disrupted a potential catch by Cubs outfielder Moisés Alou. If Alou had caught the ball it would have been the second out in the inning, and the Cubs would have been just four outs away from winning their first National League pennant since 1945. Instead, the Cubs ended up surrendering eight runs in the inning and shortly afterward lost the game, 8-3. When they were eliminated in the seventh game the next day, the "Steve Bartman incident" was seen as the "first domino" in the turning point of the series.[1]

Can the Cubs win the National League and then World Series ONCE in my lifetime?!?!?!!
I was at Barleycorn that night with friends. The place was a madhouse, with obnoxious Cubs fans certain of victory everywhere. And then you could have heard a pin drop. OR my buddy and I, pretty much the only two non -Cubs fans in the place, giggling like school girls.

So, no offense, but I'm using mine to change this back to the way it was. So much fun that night.

Laettner bricks his prayer at the buzzer.

Heyward sinks his prayer at the buzzer.

That Creighton ###### doesn't shove Marshall in mid-air resulting in a broken wrist in 2012 tourney.

Holmes doesn't get both feet in on that TD catch against the Cardinals.

And of course, Tuck Rule.

Just to play devils advocate. Eruzione hits the post, CCCP scores a minute later and then gets an emptynetter to win 5-3. USA loses in the bronze medal game...I wonder what type of chain of events this sets off.

Sorry Gant couldn't stop his momentum and came off the base.

Todd Zeile hits the ball another foot inch in the 2001 WS or, at the very least, Timo Perez keeps ####### running.

Don McNeal brings down John Riggins for a loss on 4th and 1 in the '83 SB. Instead, Riggins rumbles for a 43 yard TD.

Selfish second.... with Miami getting pasted by the 49ers in the '85 SB, I was taking lots of abuse at a bar I was in. However, I was laughing on the inside when the Dolphins kicked a FG with seconds left in the half. I was sitting on the "8" and "3" in a big money pool. As (bad) luck would have it, San Fran fumbles the ensuing kick-off giving Miami just enough time for a FG. "8" and "6" wins the pool. Miami never scores again while SF scores 10 in the 3rd and zero in the 4th. One square wins all three quarters. $7,500 1985 dollars was nothing to sneeze at.

You gotta be ####ting me. The game they won 46-10? Biggest blowout in a SB ever? That's the play you want changed?

Yea NE fans are insufferable.

That night I met my ex-wife in a bar.
No, I'm not kiddin' you, Will. That's why I'm not talkin' right now about some girl I saw at a bar twenty years ago and how I always regretted not going over and talking to her. I don't regret the 18 years I was married to Nancy. I don't regret the six years I had to give up counseling when she got sick. And I don't regret the last years when she got really sick. And I sure as hell don't regret missin' the damn game. That's regret.

I wish Webber didn't call that timeout and Jalen hits a 3 for the win.

Webber doesn't call timeout but instead launches a fade away jumper to win the 1993 NCAA Championship
Would have given them a 1 point lead with 11 seconds left. Tarheels still probably win.
I think the Wolverines win if Webber doesn't call that timeout. But we'll never know and their wins were vacated anyway. Still, him calling that timeout would be my one take back.

True Bears fan. I just wanted a TD in the SB for Mr. Payton.
I think you're a little misdirec ... never mind
Not to beat a dead horse, but even Ditka regretted it.

Laettner falls back and breaks his ankle during the turn and shoot against UK. He's carried off the floor by Hill and Hurley who also fall and break their ankles. Coach K retires after fighting a long battle with depression shortly after.

Maybe you should change that day you skipped math class

Love them all, but I'd go with Marshall.

That injury changed the course of college basketball. Marshall doesn't get hurt and there's a decent chance the Heels win it all. Instead, Calipari got his, and UK became the best place to not only launch an NBA career, but also win an NCAA title in the process. Roy's recruiting has gone to #### for the most part since then too.

Nice to see the Braves got the reward they richly deserved. Maddux, Glavine and Smoltz got those calls for YEARS. Paybacks are something else, aren't they?
