Man robbed of life savings in bank parking lot (1 Viewer)

If for any reason I ever needed to pull that kind of cash out of the bank (and I can't think of any reason I would ever NEED that much cash) you better believe I'm going to have some friends with me.

No way you’ll ever catch me walking around with $2,000 in my pockets.
I didn't think so either, until we went to China. Flying with $2500 cash was a different experience. Kept it hidden in my carry on for the flight, and in a sexy waist wallet (slim fanny pack) under my shirt for the rest of the trip.

All was fine until I left it in Beijing when flying back. At that point we only had like $1200 left. But you can imagine the panic when I had to tell my wife. We got it back, along with my military retired ID (which we brought only to use the uso) and the one credit card.

FWIW, people go in and out of casinos and poker rooms all the time with thousands of dollars on them.

$200k is a different story though.

Its very convenient that this was recorded. Also saw this on another article:

The family have created a GoFundMe page to try and recover some of the lost money.

His daughter, Sindy Flroes, wrote on a GoFundMe page to help with hospital costs: "He never expected such an atrocious attack. Bystanders attest that my dad was fighting with all of his will.
Guessing its only a matter of time this is determined to be a hoax.

Maybe. But the video I've seen only shows the guy running away. Towards the building, which seems kind of odd but I assume he turned and ran towards the other opening? If it had shown the "attack" I'd agree, unless it was just security footage. But this was a cell, and the attacker runs away from the camera so we can't see his face.

I hope there are witnesses other than the one filming.

I do lean towards this being a hoax.

I agree this seems fishy.

First off, they don't really say it was 200k in cash.  I mean did this dude seriously walk into the bank and walk out with 200k in 100 dollar bills or something?  Or was it a cashiers check?

Banks don't have 200k in the vault.  I remember last time I bought a used car with cash the bank told me I need to call in advance to withdraw anything over 5000 or they might not be able to do it.  So I guess an unscrupulous teller could have tipped someone off.

It's funny, walking around with just a few K is almost surreal.  You get the feeling that everyone knows you are carrying a load of cash, it's really unsettling.  I can't imagine what it would be like with 200k.  Bottom line here is there are a lot of unanswered questions that make this seem like BS.  Would like to know more details before I'd buy this story.

As some have said, its staged or an inside job. I would imagine you need to give the bank a heads up or wait in the lobby for quite some time to withdraw 200K. An employee could have phoned a friend.
