It doesn't matter, and I know baseball players and fans enjoy unwritten rules, but it seems pretty silly not to just allow pine tar.

Seems like a better alternative for MLB than the stupid Pineda story stealing the news cycle from Pujols hitting 500 and possibly the greatest pitching battle in MLB history that happened 24 hours earlier.
