McNabb Owners: What to do next? Who to turn to? (1 Viewer)

McNabb carried us into the playoffs but we need a QB to win it for us. Who are you guys turning to? Do you have a servicable backup? or did you use that roster spot on another position like me thinking McNabb would solve your QB troubles.

Who are you guys turning to or looking at?

Chad Pennington

Vince Young

Matt Leinart

Alex Smith

Joey Harrington

Bruce Gradkowski

Jeff Garcia

Jason Campbell

Hopefully you have a good backup. My backup QB is Philip Rivers and Im pretty happy with him going forward. As far as WW QBs there not much out there as almost all the ones you mentioned arent available in my league. I will probably pick up Campbell if only cuz I have zero interest in Garcia. Hes a dink and dunk passer.

Hasselbeck has an easy schedule the rest of the way (besides Denver week 13) so im hoping he comes back strong for the season...ill probably dump McNabb for McNair....

BTW Peter King is reporting Reid does not know who will be the starting QB next week, Garcia or Feeley. If Feeley gets the starting nod he might be worth a pickup. Garcia will be worthless IMO.

Feeley will win the job and be good. You gotta remember McNabb gets 12 seconds to find a WR behind the best pass blocking line in the league. With Westbrook, Brown, LJ and Stallworth I think Feeley will be Romo-like.

FWIW, here are TE's Chad Lewis' and Jeff Thomason's stats from his starts in weeks 12-17 in 2002, when Feeley started in place of McNabb:
Code:
CHAD LEWIS+----------+-------------+----+| WK  OPP  |  REC   YD   | TD |+----------+-------------+----+| 12  sfo  |	5	41  |  1 || 13  stl  |	3	44  |  0 || 14  sea  |	3	19  |  0 || 15  was  |	2	44  |  0 || 16  dal  |	3	34  |  0 || 17  nyg  |	1	16  |  0 |
Code:
JEFF THOMASON+----------+-------------+----+| WK  OPP  |  REC   YD   | TD |+----------+-------------+----+| 12  sfo  |	1	24  |  0 || 17  nyg  |	2	37  |  0 |
The WR's are so different that I don't think that those stats hold much basis for comparison.

Definitely Feeley. The 12 team league I own McNabb in I haven't been carrying a second QB and several teams are carrying 3, so there's almost nothing on the waiver wire, guys like Brad Johnson, Fyre, and Losman. I'm going to pick up Feeley and probably Frye and see what happens.

They don't - but it's still a good effort to code that stuff up.

My WW is mostly picked clean, so it looks like Kitna goes for me the rest of the season. Carr was dropped yesterday as well, so I might grab him as well for insurance purposes.

 this kills.

thankfully i snagged McNair off the wire a couple weeks back. have Plummer too but he's not going to see the starters spot in my lineup unless McNair dies.

I have Delhomme as my backup.. Will pick up McNair or Romo from Waivers. Unfortunately, trade deadline has passed.

Too late for Romo in my league.

Rivers is the best guy hanging around on WW in my league so I'll probably make a play for him.

I've got Kitna as a back up right now, but he has been struggling and Detroit has some tough matchups over the rest of the season.

Alex Smith - is this a guy worth targeting? Take a look at the 49ers schedule to close the year. He's got a shot to put up some numbers against that competition.

my backups are Huard and Vince Young. This is the last week of my trade deadline. One guy in my league has 4qb's, so I am hoping to get Brady or Big Ben from him. He still has Romo and Eli.

Herm Edwards messed everything up by going back to Trent Green. I was all set with Huard as my backup. Hopefully, I can make the trade, or I will pick up Jason Campbell from the ww.

Vince Young in a basic scoring format, for some reason I may lean toward him. I'll have to check Tenn's schedule.

looking strictly at SOS per my league:

over the past couple weeks, the best teams for a QB to play against are as follows:

1 Bengals

2 Titans

3 Chargers

4 Saints

5 Vikings

6 Buccaneers

7 Broncos

8 Rams

9 Falcons

10 Chiefs

11 Steelers

these are the teams you want your QB to be playing. Looking at this, you can platoon Frye and Campbell and have decent match-ups the rest of the season. Leinart and Brooks look like they have pretty decent schedules as well.

My back-up is Kitna, and his schedule is brutal. Whomever takes the reigns for Philly will have a tough schedule ahead too, so I don't really think that is a good option.

Even losing McNabb this week and scoring the lowest points for the entire season, I miraculously have a shot at winning my matchup this week and taking sole position of first place in one of my leagues. I have Tiki and MJD running tonight and I'm down 17 points, I like my chances, but you never know.

My backup QB, who hasn't seen the light of day since draft day is Marc Bulger. The only time he started for me was on McNabb's bye. If this injury happened 3 weeks ago, I'd be OK since Bulger was playing so great, but he's been struggling lately. Not sure if I should make a play on the WW to pick up another QB or not... Plummer, Leinert, Pennington and Carr are available, anybody take any of them over Bulger given his recent troubles?

I'm in the same boat: McNasty/Bulger/Leinart (Dynasty). I'm not really sure at this point, fortunately McNasty hasn't been carrying my team my RBs have, so I just wait and see how the next few weeks go.I'm not looking to moving Mc, he's that good!

Im in three redaft leagues 12 owners 34 QB's are taken in all..you be lucky to fine one on the ww if in with 12 owners..and since you must have a good record and its a worst to first picking order in most leagues..the other teams will stop you from getting anything that stands...bench QB's best bet...just my opinion!

If he's on your WW after his 4 INT. day last week go get Garrard. In his limited starts he's got a few 20+ point fantasy games and if you average his career starts its in line with what you'd expect from about a 9-10th ranked fantasy QB.

I have the roller coaster that is Vick and I picked up Campbell last week just on the off chance something happened to Vick on one of his crazy runs.

Ironically I had sent out a league e-mail expressing my interest in dealing Marvin Harrison before the Turkeyday deadline. Needless to say I have had a few owners suggest dealing me a QB for Marvin. I lucked out with LTs day this week so unless Scobee kicks like 10 field goals and a couple XPs I should be okay.

I'm angling for Brees or Palmer. The owner with these two is a HUGE Indy fan so maybe I can pull one of them and Housh for Harrison and a RB.

I have/had him in 2 leagues. Luckily the league I am in 1st in I have Brees as the backup. I picked up McNair. The other league I am fighting for the final playoff spot and I wasn't so fortunate with Big Ben as my backup so I picked up JP Losman and will probably dump some dead weight to grab a couple more QBs and play matchups.

I am a Mcnabb owner..I knew sooner or later this would happen. This is why I picked up Romo early in the season.

Guy in my league dropped Michael Vick to pick up Garcia ten minutes after McNabb was carted off.

I picked up Vick off waivers this morning and believe he will help me through the next four weeks of what I feel are good qb matchups for him, then after that it's time for weekly qb matchups dipping into the free agent pool (Losman, Gradkowski, etc...) or Vick if he is hot.

I take this back> this is not accurate. The teams you want your QB to be up against are:1 NO2 Det3 Sea4 Hou5 GB6 Cin7 SF8 TB9 Was10 TenThis is derived by determining team averalge QB scoring for all teams, calculating the difference from the average, and finding which teams caused the biggest difference. in other words, these teams have allowed their opponents to score higher than their average fairly consistantly.Alex Smith, JP Losman and Plummer all have favorable schedules coming up. Leinart and Kitna or Campbell make for a decent playoff QBBC combo.
