Anyone notice Lott's two starting RB's have the same bye week?

That just might hurt him. He'll definately have to secure another sooner rather than later, just to be on the safe side.

im expecting him to grab the bears d in round 6

and vinatieri in 5

Ah, the master slips and reveals his strategy. I will circumvent him and grab Vinateri in round 4 and the Bears in 5 and my destiny will be fulfilled.

DO IT

Wow.....!!! Just wow! Steel Dillo doubling up on top QB's this early was another shocker! He has no WR's yet. I'm wondering what he thinks might fall to him around the next bend. In a 2PPR league, I think it's just crazy to go without any in your first four picks. MJD might garner some quality rec's, but none that would make avoiding a WR here even remotely enticing.

Obviously, this is just my observation (and two cents.)

FYI - 2PPR Is for TE only, everbody else gets 1PPR.

I had this combo last year in ssl2 (Bulger / Brees plus Lossman) better luck to SD than I had!

some interesting strategies at the bottom of the draft by you guys. And if KW2 is healthy, I like Bruno's the best
what's up sniffa? kinda hard to keep pace with the LJ's and LT's of the world when they are on their game when you are lining up RB 16. To win these things, sometimes you have to take some chances and hope to hit big.

No doubt Shake. I love your Gates pick, Manning, not so sure on that one. I drafted from the 15 hole and really dig my team so far (see sig). Won SSL3 last year grabbing Gates at the 16 hole too. Dont let the big guns up top scare you, you need a plan to win from down below.

Yep, in a hurry to post before my show came on, and didn't think it through......even still, 1PPR and no WR's yet for Dillo? Gotta hope at least one of that QB combo puts up massive numbers each week!

Drafting from the bottom of a 16 team league presents some serious challenges.

Due to the scoring set up, I targeted MJD in the 1st as soon as I found out my draft position. I love the dual threat (receptions/TD machine) he provides.

My second pick was going to be either Maroney or T Jones. Some wonder why I passed on Rudi J. I passed on him because he's not very involved in the passing game, comes out alot on 3rd down and Cincy has a lot of other offensive weapons in addition to Rudi.

I'll share more of my strategy/lunacy after the draft is over, but I'm keeping it close to the vest for now.

Teams are starting to take shape.....into exactly what, I'm not so sure? :jawdrop:

There seems to be quite a number of differing philosophies going on in this league. It also appears that those having experience doing these mocks are spread out pretty well and each is trying hard to find an advantage. I'm still getting used to the surprise picks that are popping up from those that are new at this.

I think it helped drafting in PDSL 4 as I used my mistakes there to help with this mock. I'm hoping that I'll have well rounded scoring that will keep me alive til the final four.

Anyone care to guess based on the picks so far as to which teams will be in the final four?

Anyone care to guess based on the picks so far as to which teams will be in the final four?

I agree these four are strong, but for the sake of adding commentary... (yes, coming from a guy who drafted a qb in round 2 :hot: )Fiddles is very strong unless there is not a good qb when he picks. Love SJax and have him in my longtime keeper league and Wayne was the guy I was targeting at 2.07 but felt that Brady would not be there at 3.07. Also worried about the trend to run in Indy this year. May be different without Rhodes or decent backup. Also worried about a NYJ being a run dominant team and emergence of Cotchery and use of TE regarding Coles pick up. Probably best value at the pick at the time though.Pigskinpimp has good players but many questions about several of them in my mind. McNabb coming off serious injury and he depends on mobility, strength and footwork. Culpepper looked terrible last year and the loss of Stallworth, ? feelings between the McNabb family and Eagles, comments regarding the Kolb drafting, and solitary comment from Westbrook about being able to even mention retiring (nothing further beyond a single radio interview with Dan Patrick, so don't panic, probably a non-issue this year) make McNabb hard to figure. Eagles WR have been weak with exception of Owens (gone) and Stallworth (gone) yet McNabb put up top flight numbers prior to his injury, due in part to Westbrook. LJ Smith has not turned out to be the TE he could be but this year could be different. LJ has lost a significant part of his Oline, will lose Green and there has been bad blood between him and the KC staff and front office (my take based on his public comments). He is the one trick pony on that team this year, with the solitary exception of Gonzo. KC D is not one that will give great field position and there was the immense workload last year (still burned by Ricky Williams pick). I like Fitz and Andre though wonder if both teams will try to use the run more. Will Schaub open up to other receivers, since Johnson will likely be double teamed all game? Ahman Green in the red zone like his use in GB? Arizona to run more? Still, if these picks pan out, very strong.Cowboy - I am wondering about J Jones's role this year and he was not a receiving wonder or red zone consideration. Three good receivers in Dal (including Witten), Romo effective as passer and Barber as preferred red zone back. Gore, loss of Norv Turner, addition of two high end WR and emergence of Alex Smith as a qb promise to decrease his workload. SF D will give good field position and he will remain a top ten RB in non-ppr league. PPR?, not so sure. Chad Johnson suffered last year from a lot of D attention, allowing TJ to flourish. Same this year? Loss of WR3 and WR4 from last year will keep from spreading the ball around so much likely but I felt CJ would go too high this year. Boldin - see comments on Fitz plus he is clear number two. Can't remember his TD production last year and that is probably not a good thing. Fair number of targets though. Better OLine may help ARI production on ground and air. Shockey is a great athlete, but Manning (E) is not Manning (P) and Plaxico seemed to be preferred red zone air target, use of two fairly bruiser backs does not portend well in short yardage and red zone for TE usually. Still a top 6 TE but just not sure.RR05 - If Sea can get back to form from two years ago, great pick with Alexander, but his injury and Hasselbeck's and loss of DJax have me wondering if we'll see that. No back up so he is one of few remaining feature backs and he is golden in non-ppr leagues when fully healthy. Not much involvement in the passing game though IIRC. AD Peterson, risky pick in two back offense, rookie and undeveloped qb. Sad WR corps means lots of mean D fronts. Will he be eased in the beginning of the season too to allow collarbone to heal (or held out for surgery), meaning early drop from ssl? Next year, maybe, this year, not going to agree with this. Colston, great pick and if he was listed as a TE like he was in yahoo last year he would be as good as Gates. Like NO a lot this year. Calvin Johnson, rookie again but in Martz offense. Will he be brought in easy early (Furrey, if that is the right name, did a great job as number two last year)? RR may be out early due to dependence on rookies. Also, the question of Detroit running game makes one wonder if they will be facing pass oriented Ds and Detroit's D lost a couple key members meaning worse field position. Next year? yes on Calvin, this year in survivor format? Too early. Now, I could pick apart my own team as well so don't take this as personal attacks. Just sounding off my thoughts as I consider most of these picks in my slots as well.

Not unhappy with the way my team is shaping up, but things just haven't fallen for me here. Every round it seems like I'm at the end of a tier. I'm high on Campbell this year, and with Moss and Cooley it looks like I'd better be right. I do like the potential RB shoring up that Foster gives me.

Definitely like my PDSL4 team better though.

My team couldn't be more ordinary if I'd set out to make it so. I like my PDSL team 10x better, even outside LT. Somehow it just seemed like things kept falling badly in this draft.

thanks for doing this rody

very cool to see the teams as the draft unfolds
You, and everyone else, are very welcome! I enjoy doing it and it's really no trouble if I stay on top of it. Only time it became a little daunting was when I fell behind by more than one round. I think that happened twice.Up-dated through pick 16.15.

If anyone notices a mistake or two, please post and I'll edit accordingly.

FYI: Not all pick locations jive with overall numbers. Example: If you took pick 14.15, this should be overall pick number 223, but in reality it was pick number 220, due to "time-outs" and illegal picks still needed to be made up. So, again, overall numbers may not always jive with the actual pick number. As of right now, they are in line. But, who knows, we may have another "time-out", in which case the numbers become skewed again, until the pick is made up.

Looks like that Keyshawn pick bit me in the ###.....
that and the fact that you dont have a single player on bye before week 6you just ignoring byes completely?
Many squads will take a hit on weeks 6 and 8 because so many NFL teams are off. I'm more concerned with week 8 as there will be less fantasy teams left at that point and most weak sisters will be gone. You loose your top QB and 2 top WRs yourself Fiddles - so you could very well be the guy I edge out for elmination week 6.

I'm pretty spread out on my bye weeks, but if I had to pick a week to be worried about it is week 4. I only have 2 players out, but they are my QB1 (Brees) & RB1 (Jones-Drew).

Yep week 6 is my risky week. I do have my 1st, 3rd, 4th, and 5th round picks all playing that week though so I'm not too worried.

Week 5 Issues?

RedZone has some week 5 WR issues.

Tk8nover has week 9 issues

I really don't have week 6 issues FWIW.

Rudy tabbed Fitz's bye week wrong. ARZ is off week 8.

Now I will have a week 8 issue with my top 2 picks LJ and Fitz sharing the same bye week.

shadow why did you take the seahawks?
My top ranked D that did not have a bye week conflict with STLSeattle gets a nice number of sacks and is fair in the TO department. Why?
I was wondering why he asked that as well. I think Seattle is a sleeper DEF. The LBs are solid. They have some players on the DL and in the DB. Added a top notch DE this year. It's not like he took them as the the #3 DEF overall.
