My favorite article each year was the crowdsourcing of FB staff selecting players who are undervalued, overrated or deep sleepers.

I am just wondering if it is going to appear this year! It alone, in my view, is worth the price...
Long-time reader, first (or almost) first time poster.
As we near the season where (especially in dynasty) teams are looking to trade their way into a position for a fantasy playoff run, I was wondering what folks' thoughts were about the prospect that McVay might sit Gurley (or for that matter...
Hey everyone,
Many of us have been eyeing Martellus Bennett, but his last couple preseason games were plagued by drops and a fumble, after which he was pulled from the rest of the game. There are whispers out of camp of motivation issues. We've all been burned by Belichick zigging when the...
Following up on some of the teams mentioned in this thread:
The Eagles first team defense was lights out all three games, including today, when they let up only three points in the first half and harassed Luck with three first half sacks. The Eagles now have a total of ten takeaways across the...
Hi everyone,
For those of us in leagues with settings that produce larger than usual DST scores, such that the DST position is unusually significant, the preseason can be instructive.
It feels like each year, there is a sleeper DST or two that distinguishes itself with stout team defense...
Right. I just mean that -some- recent evidence of explosiveness would be nice, in light of his age, his time away from full contact football, his injury history, etc. If he had played in the preseason and put up sub-4.0 ypc numbers, certainly we would start to see some doubts voiced on this...
For those of us in 2 QB or superflex leagues: Who are the top backup QBs worth rostering in a draft due to some combo of likelihood to start/likely fantasy performance of they do start?
Does the list look something like:
Geno Smith
Mark Sanchez
Colt McCoy
EJ Manuel
Jimmy Calusen
Are there any positive signs about his performance coming out of practice/camp, etc.? A couple years ago there was at least word about him outracing Percy Harvin uphill in practice, etc. But this year all I could find was his own report that he felt a bit slow in practice. Are there any...
Thanks for the comments!
On fading in the hone stretch last year, I meant that he scored 11 or fewer points in four of his last six games in the regular season (at least in my main league).
Hi everyone,
One of the core challenges of fantasy is anticipating when the numbers of elite players will start to fall off with age/injury. This question has me starting to waver when it comes to Jordy Nelson.
There are a few items that give me pause.
1. He has turned 30.
2. He had...
Houston has one of the easiest opening schedules in recent memory (WAS, at OAK, at NYG, BUF). And obviously they have the chance to be disruptive. But do people think they are to be trusted? Even if the defense is lights out, the offense could give up massive field position and points.
This year, identifying the emergent DST sleepers seems to be a particular challenge. Who is this year's Cincinnati? Have any defenses actually distinguished themselves in the preseason? A lot of folks are discussing NO and NE, but neither seemed to be lights out in the first half of preseason...
Are there any DSTs that have been lights out in the preseason so far? NO and Hou have produced mixed results in the first quarter against some middling offenses, haven't they?
Hey everyone,
I love this site and the Shark Pool, and have been a member for years. This is the best site for fantasy hands down. However, one thing that has surprised me about the site is the lack of attention to DSTs. For example, DSTs do not appear on the staff's...
One powerful strategy in dynasty leagues is to draft, on the cheap, the back-ups who are likely to emerge the following year as top free agents who will secure starting jobs and, potentially, fantasy relevance.
Who do we anticipate may emerge in 2013 as that year's Michael Turner, Matt Flynn...
:goodposting: Exactly. In 2/3 a season. With another 50 yards rushing and a TD today. Of course, you need to account for his 7 lost fumbles in the analysis as well. But maybe the right answer here is that he is, at this point, only a mediocre passer but -- once one considers his power...
Right, I should clarify that Locker looked fantastic in his final preseason game (15/17 for 132 yards and a TD). Previously, he had been uneven. Still, for the reasons you mentioned, he might be the brightest star in the class at this point (other than Newton and Dalton).
