FBG loses its Tremendous Upside: RIP friend (1 Viewer)

I wish I had the rest of this pic, but it got lost at granny's. We have had this as a smiley for years now: http://1drv.ms/16oRIJX

All I remember was the complete mayhem around Sean, and he sitting there serene and smiling.

Pretty sure this was shortly after he had knocked two glasses of beer on the floor while making a point. Great one of me and TRE. That was at Pub Dog when none of us could great drunk anymore.

Love that pic

Next story - Syracuse vs. Connecticut, 2009 Big East tournament. 6 overtimes. Max's Taphouse, Fell's Point. TUpside vs. everyone else in the bar. Awesome.
Still one of the greatest games I've ever watched. Just nuts.
That's when Sean was in full blown Tigger-mode. Just bouncing around and cheering his ### off.
Like the Tasmanian devil he was. Guy was pretty nimble for his size, I remember a few spinorama/ :hifive: combos that day.

Concert pic, maybe someone can help identify what concert? Judd?

Pearl Jam closing out the Spectrum on 10/31/2009. Me, TU, RedRaiders, JZilla and (I believe) Kilgore Trout. My mind escapes me on the lady
Let me guess - Kilgore on the right with the long hair. That's you with the black hat. Red just behind and to the right of TU. Zilla with the Yankees lid.

nope
TF in the Yankees lid?
I'm taking the picture. I have no idea who the rabid Yankees fan was. I remember meeting Kilgore and his lady friend. Judd with his cool-### concert-going hat of course.

This thread has helped me a lot. I hate that we lost this guy, but he really did leave us with a lot of fine memories. :banned:

I didn't realize all you guys actually hung out together. I feel raytarided sometimes on here.

Agreed. I have a ton of guilt for not having kept up with him and other friends these past couple years. Thanks JZilla for reaching out or I never would have known. And thanks Koya for keeping us apprised, tough as it always is. Tup loved him some Koya.

TU and I were both huge Pearl Jam fans, and he was an active participant in the Pearl Jam thread. In 2007, Pearl Jam was scheduled to play Lollapolloza in Chicago on a Saturday night. He had already made arrangements to go to the show, I wasn't planning on it. A week before that the band announced a fan club only show for 1300 fans at the cozy Vic Theatre in Chicago the Thursday before. For a band that does a lot for it's fans, this was the first time they've done anything of the sort. A fan club only show in a small setting, was the holy grail for pearl jam fans. The show was announced on a Tuesday, and tickets were going to go on sale that Thursday.

Pearl Jam's online ticket system is a running joke, but TU always said that if he had one skill in life it was getting lucky with tickets online. We made a pact via PM (had never met at the time) that if I got tickets, he could come with me and vice versa.

Low and behold, he got tickets and I nervously made plans to book flights/hotels to go to a concert with a guy I met on the internet. Just to type of thing that you want to explain to your friends and family.

Long story short, the show was the best concert I've ever been to and the first of a bunch of PJ shows that I went with to Sean over the years.
I can tell you this, I think he mentioned you and the concerts you guys went to every time I met with him. Sounds like you guys and JZilla really had some good memories. I'm not a music guy so listening to him, Zilla, and Jet talk about all this obscure stuff was always entertaining. He was a music :nerd: for sure.

But he loved sports like I do, which is more than almost anyone else I know(TRE fits this category also). Plus he liked to drink and have fun.
Thanks GB. This means alot.

Yeah, re: sports...I'm sure there's wasn't a kid raised in NYC, went to school in Boston that new more about College FB than he did. When I got to Chicago in 2011 for PJ 20 (different show), I show up at the hotel (on a Friday night) and he had a 12 pack of beer waiting for us. We were meeting Rude out that night, but stayed in the hotel to watch the end of the Baylor/TCU 50-48 game (RG3 coming out party).

Then we met Rude out, got drunk and closed down a Chipotle :football:
Combining music + sports, I'll never forget the PJ Spectrum show we all went to. It was also game 1 of the '09 World Series - with our Phillies and Yankees facing off. I was Sean's extra ticket and of course he won the lottery so we sat together, about 10 rows from the stage - checking the score all night and having an awesome time.

I didn't know TU, he certainly didn't know me (I'm a long time lurker, very infrequent poster), but it was always easy to respect his online persona. It is always strange feeling this much sorrow about someone that you don't really even know. Seeing that I was born in the same month as him certainly may be a factor, but I think more so than that is the positive impact that he has had on so many people. To be able to leave that strong an imprint in this world in such a short time is quite the legacy. My prayers are pointed in the direction of all his friends and family tonight. RIP

Well I was going to join that group that wasn't drinking in February, but I just poured two fingers of Jameson for TU.

I'll wait a few minutes if anyone else wants to join.

This sucks. Really cool reading the stories you guys have. Makes me want to attend more cornholes. RIP.

I looked at this picture like 6 times, asking myself: could that actually be Brad?

More importantly --- wtf are Mario and Luigi doing not trying to rescue Princess Peach?!

Can't believe Jet remembered it was pub dog. I forgot the colored beer too. Great memories. I'll be honest, I keep crying looking through these pictures.

I've lost it twice today because of this thread.
Yeah I did just now looking at Yoenis here on his way to pump some well water for TREfam.

He was like a little kid up there on gitche gumee.

Hey Zilla>did he chat up the park ranger that day or was that you? I forget.
That's the one that got me earlier this afternoon. Full on Irish tears. Aaaand, here they are again.
This is my favorite, too. I've broken down countless times today. Then again, I'm female.

One thing I've taken from this thread is that not only was Sean greatly loved, but he knew he was. That's comforting, as is the joy you can see in his eyes in these pics.

Still kind of hoping this is all an elaborate ploy to break it to us that Dr. D is not black, though, and that Sean is doing just fine. :(

As the resident black guy, I love big asses. Sean had a great can.

That's what's been hurting the most despite that I never met the guy. Just had interactions here.

Dude he and Glenn did like 4 car bombs because the rest of us were tired and needed a late afternoon nap from all the shenanigans the night prior.

If you remember Glenn lasted about an hour after those bombs, TU was still trucking at midnight. No idea how he did it, I would have been been wasted like in 2009 when I had to leave early to puke (then you followed but you made the mistake of letting everyone watch you).
