*** OFFICIAL *** FFA WAGERING THREAD - Merry Christmas!!! (9 Viewers)

When I texted our hero friday morning the van didn't even have plates yet sitting outside Austin, Texas... Wake up to a 7 am text. "I'm three hours out."
It was a nineteen-hour drive from Austin to northern Iowa. I recommend Texahoma, Oklahoma, both for its Sonic drive-in and their ability to name towns. Also, there's a college there and I've never seen a Wataburger filled with hot chicks like that before.

I didn't even realize how cold it was in the van (with a gaping hole under the passenger-side dash where I ripped the AC/heater out) until I saw the time/temp displayed outside Kaufmann stadium 4AM 35°F. It was at that point I realized I couldn't feel my legs, but I still kept driving.

Is anyone in Missouri? I think the area between Springfield and Branson (and even a little bit south into Arky) is where it's at. I spent some time at Lake of the Ozarks and highly recommend Harry S Truman State Park. I'm definitely buying some land and relocating to that Springfield South area, though. I think it's the future - the next place people flock to after NC, Austin, and Nashville. That's my wager. Let's all get vans, bro. And just drive.

There's no bigger boner-killer than inquiring about a sick mountain lake property, then finding out it's attached to a nine-page HOA agreement written by a man born in 1949. Falling in love with a place then feeling like you "don't belong" there. I think I just left a trail of tears in my living room.

I've been living in Colorado, Montana and Wyoming out of my sweet van for a little over a month now. But then I did it with a park ranger and she recommended I move to Branson, Missouri. So I literally drove from the nicest weather spot in the USA to god dang hot *** Misouri. And you know what, dude? **** lakes, bro. Lakes.. stink. They literally stink. If you're posted up at a lake all day long, you got flies, bro. Rivers are where it's at. And waterfalls. Let me ask you this: Have you ever seen anyone take a shower in a lake? You haven't because it's impossible. Rivers, bro. Waterfalls. Chase waterfalls, bro. Pursue them.

Attending the night games at Kauffman tonight and tomorrow, then meeting up with the legend @hooter311 at Target Field on Monday!

More like a myth at this point...am I right?

:-)

Saw is the man, I am the proud owner of some sweet KC gear straight from Kaufman and an autographed Billy Butler ball for my mantle.

ETA: only a FBG is going to hand you a sealed bag of buffalo jerky straight from Montana at 8am on a tuesday morning....remember that.

I think betting large favorites on simulated Madden games might've set us back a little. But, to add to Mr. Lambskin's point, I could see the seasonal aspect of sports taking hold and snowballing us back into our old ways. Like the start of football season. Like all our old pillars - not the ones for sleepin' on, but ROY Futures, MVP Futures, Total Wins Wagers, Hard Knocks, Thursday Night Kickoff, and Week 2 Contrarian/Public Overreaction Bets.. the pillars. The FFAWT tent poles. Christmas in September, meatball recipes, free money, asking what a good sportsbook to use is, or if guys are playing cards are not.. it'll just take one snowball, one there he is.. and we'll be off and running.

Sup Chain? I think most of the old school degens probably discuss sports wagering, just in other venues. I still bet, but I've learned that betting on MLB after June is a fool's errand. And I've had some great PGA runs, but some horrific runs as well. Tough to want to share those, and the camaraderie that once existed in this thread is tough to keep going amongst just four or five guys. Add in that I have more IRL friends gambling and can group chat with them, and.... I'm sure I'll post more in football season. Hopefully we can build a nice cadre again around that time.

Hope your vagabonding is going well.

Anybody ever lived in West Virginia? I'm thinking about it.
Never been but I’ve always thought it was meth headquarters along with inbreeding. I could be wrong.
same. same thing. documentaries, wild and wonderful whites of west virginia. soft white underbelly on youtube. a general non-existence of anything saying anything different. and the desire inside of me to form that narrative and fear the unknown.

it wasn't until I drove thru Iowa with my windows down and cars passing me on the highway like I was standing still that I drove off the highway to the backroads and realized that the entirety of Iowa smells like human ****. They use raw pig **** to fertilize their corn. Not their "fields," but their corn. Because if there is a field in America, it's corn. Fields equals corn. It's off putting.

I've driven through every state with no A/C. No air conditioning. If you're hot, go up a mountain or go to Lake Superior. It's summer. Those are the only cool places I've found. Lake Superior is a cold *** lake and the wind blows.

I'm a scientist. With no home. And Austin can kiss my ***. So I've found out a few things before settling down. Like, even if an area is "poor," they still have expensive *** cars. Everywhere. Drive anywhere, if it has a strip mall, and some cars, it all looks the same. And people are all generally good.

WV might indeed be the last "undiscovered" country. And for what I can tell, it's because of that exact same opinion we've been fed. Or, so to speak, just haven't discovered yet.

CFB is my favorite sport. It's falling apart. I also very much like NFL football. Let's win some dolla dolla bills, y'all.

Here's a couple parlays I placed on PrizePicks (one was placed in May and one was placed in June):

3 Pick PowerPlay
Nick Chubb OVER 8.5 Rush TDs
Dameon Pierce OVER 950.5 Rush Yards
Najee Harris OVER 999.5 Rush Yards (this part is looking like hot garbage)

4 Pick FlexPlay
Dak Prescott UNDER 4325.5 Pass Yards
Jonathan Taylor UNDER 1300.5 Rush Yards
Bijan Robinson OVER 1075.5 Rush Yards
Justin Jefferson UNDER 1450.5 Receiving Yards

I'm always open to suggestions on NFL player props. With no legal sports betting in Florida, I'm stuck with PrizePicks.

Season long prop overs are so tough, because there as so many circumstances that might cause the under to hit. Pretty much have to run problem-free for the season to hit the overs.

What do you think of this one? I kind of like Mike Tomlin for COY if Steelers can win AFCN. I bet him at +2200 to win that award.

But I also threw a few dollars on a Tomlin COY/Iga US Open/Joker US Open. 175-1 odds...

Anyone have a recommendation for college fantasy prop projections or leans. Would like to play mainly them this year, but looking for sites that offer that info.

I like it. Tomlin is a lot like Vrabel from the Titans in that he gets more out of his players. And Pickett has looked good this preseason. Maybe he takes that next jump.

Since 2013 favorites of 37.5 or more are 11-0 ats in Week 1 of CFB. Bama, Auburn, A & M, and USC all fit. Makes me nervous but I'm playing them.

Also played Nebraska/Minny under 44.

We're all on the same page that FSU rolls LSU by 20 and goes on to win the title w/ Travis taking home the Heisman, correct? Just want to be sure I'm not looking through homershades.

In the meantime, ya'll playing cards?
