I know this has been discussed before, but how ridiculously good is the "Seven Souls" intro to "Members Only." That montage really sticks with me as one of the greatest TV scenes of all time.

 
Sure this has been covered, but I'll ask again since I am now re-watching seasons one and two:

Something occurred to me today. I'm surprised I never thought about it before.

When Jackie Jr. was dating Meadow, he got deep into Tony's doghouse. Tony caught him playing cards at his casino, then he caught him getting a lap dance, then found the gun on him when he gave him the bathroom beatdown.

Then Little Lord ####pants comes over to the house on Christmas morning to give Meadow her gift. He talks to Tony in the kitchen. Tony's disappointment is evident, and he ends the conversation by telling Jackie that he hasn't decided what he was going to do with him.

At this point, don't you think it would be a good time for Jackie to do whatever it takes to get back on Tony's good side? Maybe something like... sharing some information? Jackie Jr. was with his Uncle Richie in Junior's kitchen when they were plotting to kill Tony. We saw Junior tell Tony in the doctor's office what Richie was planning, and he claimed he tricked Richie into thinking he was along for the ride ("So you're like a double agent, huh? F##kin Matt Helm?"), and he insisted that Richie was acting alone.

It would have been an interesting plot twist if J.J. confirmed to Tony that Junior was indeed the point man on the murder plot.

Despite the fact that the Hair Apparent was going to Rutgers and was going to be a male model....I don't think he was very bright.

LOL. It was Christufah who could have been a male model, or a writer. But only from a position of GREAT wealth!Jackie Jr. wanted to design men's clothing. You know, like Hugo Boss.

Either that or get shot in the head by Vito in Boonton.

To me, Season Three is criminally underrated when ranking the seasons. It has two of the best standalone episodes (University and Pine Barrens). Ralph's introduced. It doesn't fall into the formula that the other seasons do (Wise Guy makes a power play against Tony/irriates him....Wise Guy ends up dead). Junior's still somewhat relevant. There's great interaction with minor characters (Doctor Kennedy, Noah, Mustang Sally, Matush,Gloria) To me...it's also the last season where the worlds not closing in on Tony.....that he's not overshadowed by New York and he still has a decent crew. It also seems to be the last season where family and his interaction with them is almost as important as his Mafia life.....with the future seasons relegating A.J. and Meadow into almost two dimensional character territory. Plus....that Jackie Jr. stuff is actually pretty decent.

is this when Meadow shows every chunky high school girl just how wonderful salads can be for a body when they grow up?
 
Hey RN, have you seen "Kill the Irishman" yet? Not a bad little movie about the Cleveland mob in the 1970s.

Schirripa is in it playing a (surprise!) fat Italian that owns a garbage company with mob/union ties.

Tony "Larry Boy" Darrow has a small part as well as a Harvard educated philosophy professor.

Just kidding. He plays a mobster too.

It was a lot like the movie Chopper......I was surprised how subject matter that interesting could transform into a movie so average.

Not only that, but Kill The Irishman manages to make some of the best actors seem boring.

No sir. Never even heard of it.Was also unaware that noted thespian Steve Shirt-rippa had ever "acted" prior to The Sopranos.
 
Was it really that ridiculous to think that AJ was going to take on a larger role within the family? I watched the last few seasons a couple times recently and it appeared that was the direction they were heading. I'm thinking spin-off.

They hinted at but in every scene where AJ could have stepped up, he showed he had zero stomach for the violence part of the lifestyle (two scenes in particular when he was hosting the high school parties and later in the series when he was disgusted when he and his friends beat up the black guy who was riding the bike).

Yea, I read an interview with Chase where he said if they had done another season it would of centered on AJ's rise from grieving screw up son to taking over the Jersey crew and getting revenge for the murder of his father along the way.
 
Paulie goes to see a medium but to confirm for sure the guy is real, Paulie gives a pseudo-name when he calls and makes his appointment. Much to Paulie's chagrin, the authenticity of the medium is confirmed when he begins communicating with Charles Pagano, who was the first person Paulie ever whacked back in the 1960s

I just watched the whole show again and it just gets better and better and the end still leaves me feeling empty all at the same time.

I don't follow much and havent since the show stopped but is there ANY chance or rumors or anything that would lead to this being made into a movie?

No.Sil is never coming out of a coma. Uncle June is in the loony bin. John is dead. Phil is dead. Christufah is dead. Bobby is dead. Carm's father (in real life) is dead. Tony might be dead, and even if he's still alive, Dr. Melfi won't have him as a patient anymore. Their interaction was a vital part of the show.

Will the movie be about Paulie watching Three's Company reruns? Or A.J. sitting around crying over the latest girl who dumped him? Or Meadow learning how to parallel park? Or Little Carmine fixing wet t-shirt contests in Florida?

Add to that the fact that David Chase has repeatedly said he won't make a Sopranos movie.

So you're sayin' there's a chance!. :D

I was just stirring the pot, to no avail. Honestly, I don't think he died there. I think we were looking at Tony through the eyes of the guy who went into the bathroom and he/we were killed. By whom, I don't know. I think 70% it was the other guy/30% it was Tony. It's hard to reconcile the cut to blackness while looking at Tony if it was Tony who was supposed to die. To do that at all kind of implies that you are in the character dying, which would have had us looking at the guy, not Tony, if it was Tony dying. I'm due for a rewatch of the entire series, come to think of it.

I would be interested, as well.Did Paulie actually get to see Dean Martin's birthplace in Steubenville, Ohio or did he get clipped first? (I can't recall the order of sequence). If he didn't get to see it, I would love to watch a Paulie roadtrip back to Steubenville.
