Male Birth Control Pill (1 Viewer)

Why is there no male birth control pill?

Couldn't you create a pill that would shut off the vas deferens temporarily so that you shoot blanks?

I believe there's actually already been one invented. However it comes down to a woman, who would the one that gets pregnant, not being able to tell if a man is on the pill or not.

I swear I took it this morning...

Took 2 actually...

Yeah, that's the ticket...

Took it with my morning coffee...

We don't need to use a condom...

dude, I barely remember to put my shoes on some mornings....
Obviously it would have to be fast acting.I'm not talking about this nonsense where you have to take it every day for like 8 years and then you miss one day and you are screwed.Pop it in, wait 15 minutes and it works. No actaul sperm in the semen (or however it works).Hell, you could make a combo pill of Cialis and this. :boatloads:

Okay so you are trying the whole taking the bullets out of the gun rather than putting on a bullet proof vest.

Get a vasectomy sissies

Knives and my ####. Two great tastes that don't taste great together.Besides, who knows when I'll need another male heir because the current one isn't panning out.

No thanks. Easier to stop 1 egg than 50 bazillion sperm.
what about broads who lie and try to trap you? I prefer total coverage.
wrap it up.
We are going backwards here people.
If she's going to lie to you about being on the pill, who knows what else she's lying to you about. Wrap it up to protect yourself against the stuff the pills won't.

They've got a shot for most of that stuff anyway.

Comedian I saw on TV recently suggested that they come up with a way to make semen taste like chocolate. That'd take care of the problem.

What means this?

I'm still not sure what you mean. That women would continue to insist on more visible means of birth control? That's probably true but the real benefits to this method are removing control of reproductive issues from solely women. A man could take the pill, tell women whatever made them happy and be free from the worries of accidental/manipulated impregnation.

Female birth control relies on natural mechanisms dealing with hormone levels to prevent ovulation. It tricks the body into thinking it's pregnant, and so no egg is released.

A man's body doesn't have any natural mechanism, hormone based or otherwise, (that i know of at least), that makes him infertile temporarily. There's just no evolutionary need for it.

So, to develop a man pill, it would be a lot harder than a female pill, and it would be less "natural" because it won't rely on natural ways of causing temporary infertility.

See I was thinking it would have to somehow pinch tubes closed and whatnot with artificial swelling. Painful explodings would undoubtedly ensue.

You'd start to get so backed up that you could get someone pregnant with your tears.

The point is not that you never want kids, but you don't want them with the chick you're banging. I think it's a great idea as long as there are no weird side effects. This article says that it's on the way.
:wall: Good news indeed. If the original pill had the kind of impact on social behavior as scientists have said, this one will have an even potentially greater effect. Men controlling the rate of reproduction will change society as we know it.

Doesn't the ejaculate contain mostly seminal fluid with no DNA? And isn't the DNA portion injected by the Vas Deferens? If you can create an anti-histamine to stop mucous, then why can't you do the same thing with this?

We'll probably put the medicine from the shot in the pill too_OMG

I'm not saying it can't be done, and I could've sworn I heard that there already was a "male pill", but I am saying that there is no natural, normal mechanism by which a man temporarily becomes infertile (that i know of). When women become pregnant, their bodies start producing different levels of hormones that tells their body to stop ovulating. It's the basis for some pregnancy tests, it's how lots of birth control works (simulating pregnant hormone levels), and it's simply the natural result of a woman getting pregnant. The man never gets pregnant, and there isn't any natural mechanism that occurs in life that's similar that can be manipulated. That's why I'd worry about any male pill...heck, even the female pills have some serious health risks, and they're probably closer to nature than anything the male pill could achieve.
