MockDraftable.com - Valuable Draft Tool? (1 Viewer)

I stumbled across Draftable when digging for player evaluations for the upcoming NFL draft. It's pretty interesting stuff and I posted in the Sammy Watkins thread about it. I'm not sure how useful this site is in the grand scheme of player evaluation, because it doesn't take into account playing style, football intelligence, or intangibles, but it's a fun and informative read anyway. It gives player comparisons based upon measurables at the combine throughout history.

One big note to take away from that site is that measurables are a small part of the equation as a TON of guys listed as comps to the top prospects in the draft have amounted to nothing in the NFL.

Some examples:

Sammy Watkins

Compares to:

Steve Breaston (2007): 2.3680073476707 (87.4%)

Justin Blackmon (2012): 2.4000525154021 (87.2%)
Quincy Morgan (2001): 2.837801702906 (85.2%)
Will Franklin (2008): 2.8944601745648 (84.9%)
Dee Miller (1999): 2.9723191534861 (84.6%)
Mike Walker (2007): 3.185699941219 (83.7%)

Lache Seastrunk

Compares to:

David Wilson (2012): 3.0067005906315 (84.4%)

Doug Chapman (2000): 4.5920565797452 (79.4%)
Donald Brown (2009): 6.3418511887409 (75.8%)
Darius Walker (2007): 6.7889478524179 (75.1%)
Ryan Williams (2011): 7.0098866941602 (74.7%)

Eric Ebron (99% to Winslow....wow)

Compares to:

Kellen Winslow (2004): 0.24127193505548 (99%)
Cameron Morrah (2009): 1.2927038342597 (95.4%)
Jared Bronson (2009): 1.6802690104591 (91.9%)
Todd Heap (2001): 2.26670439618 (88%)

It never hurts to have as much info possible available during these player evaluations leading up to rookie drafts. Hope you guys enjoy it.

If you find any worthwhile comparisons to post, please feel free. Would be cool to see if any were spot on or way off.

fascinating, but more likely to be misused than truly shed light on a prospect's ceiling or floor
Completely agree. It has to be taken with a grain of salt, but it's kinda cool to see where these guys measure up against guys we've seen make it/play (or not play) in the NFL.
