And in that game it was a last minute TD that Deltha O'Neal coughed up after Belichick opted for a given safety by snapping a punt thru the endzone on their previous possession where we'd pinned them just about on the goalline. Never seen that before or since but it was masterful.
The 2005 defense was unreal. This one looks better but it's a long season and it is very early. Champ is playing just about as well as he did back then, minus the INTs, which is a great sign. That year, I could almost say, "C'MON CHAMP!" and it'd happen. This year I'm shouting "C'MON D!" and...
I think that's the crux of the argument; they weren't "stopped" to begin with. Cutler ####ed up on his own on an island, unforced. See this post within this thread.
Denver homer here. I relate to all of this entirely. I was at the game today and I bought the seat next to me for my Charger fan buddy. We're both passionate about our teams and talk smack all day long but if the Chargers were in the SB I would root for LT getting his due and Rivers getting...
That is true, and my point was that the disparity was even greater than what you'd infer from just the YPC. Total yards and TDs would project out much more as well. On the face of those stats you might think there wasn't as big of a dropoff in production as there actually was.
It's wild how different this group is from as recent as the 2005 season. And Rod may not even play that big a role in 2007 (though I hope that is not the case).
They were 7-4, and got most of the wins because of how the defense played during the first 6 or so games. Jake and the rest of the offense were playing terribly. The Bronco's points-per-game went up quite a bit when Cutler stepped in. I can't say it was a bad move by Shanny but you are right...
As a Bronco fan and a fan of Jake Plummer...happy trails amigo. Much rather see him go out in his own style than see him limp along with some second-rate team for the next few years. For every time he broke our hearts, he won it twice.
First year using the tool after using FFToday's compiler last year. I'm in two leagues, and finished as the top seed in my main league and second seed in my other league. Playing in the bowl game in both this weekend.
I'll definitely buy this tool again next year.
