Group F was/is easily the hardest and the winner of the group looks like it will get a really nice draw to the semis as a reward. That draw is just brutal for Belgium.

No offense to Sweden but I hope somebody overtakes them for 1st in E.

 
Rewatching Germany-Portugal.  Two things stood out to me on the first goal for each team:

  • Ronaldo’s speed and desire - dude was in his own six yard box and sprinted to get to the other end of the pitch.  Rüdiger, for example, was next to him and then nowhere to be found
  • Müller’s coaching on the field (especially to Havertz after the goal) - is there any doubt he’ll coach the national side one day?

Third games tend to get a little screwy.  There are always a myriad of permutations and punters always seem to think teams are clever enough to figure out where they want to be seeded next round, or the old gentleman's draw comes into play, plunging the draw and under odds down.  But, imho, the players that are fielded want nothing more than to play hard and win for their country.  In today's day of social media, no one wants to get a start and be criticized for being selected to the team let alone play.  And I'm sure some star players will be rested, be it with a knock, or a team is sure to move on, but I really think a hand shake draw pre-game is hard to pull off and keep secret and have the players be keen on not trying to win,  But hey, that's just me.

The Italy/Wales game doesn't interest me all that much, but the Swiss/Turkey game does quite a bit as here is a situation that both teams direly need a result.  So, I'm on over for goals, but will trade around in game.  However, that said, they are offering me an absolute father's day gift here and I'm going to take it.

Granit Xhaka to be carded +250 1.0 to make 2.50

It's possible this bet will be voided as it should be -250 and the linesperson made a mistake (jk) but in all seriousness in what should be a fiercely played game with it all on the line, you have to expect some hard/late tackles here and my man Xhaka is pretty much a walking, human yellow.

Yeah moved Xhaka off my fantasy team just now :)

Funny thing with the unlimited chip after all my machinations my team is at 103.4m instead of 100 :shrug: though I did change 14 players so still worth it :cool:

I thought he'd give Jorginho a rest today with all that rotation, but yeah - what a fantastic squad to choose from that he can put this team out there today and rest so many.  

 
so much for going heavy on Italy in euro fantasy... my captain today is on the bench :(

Also, why doesn't ESPN+ have some sort of a dual feed with both games at once?

Bein Sports has definitely had some games where they just used one commentator over the years. Not sure why I mentioned that.

Finally read them today, was just enjoying having a team in with players to pull for.

The intra-matchday flexibility is a pretty nice idea. I probably would enjoy fantasy football (including EPL league) more if it had that feature. Soccer just is too unpredictable who is going to start or even play sometimes. Football a little less so, but still have to pay too much attention pregame.
