Despite FDB’s best effort, AAA cocktails are 4-0-0:

  • Finland - Finnish Lonkero
  • Belgium - Black Russian (Brussels creation)
  • Austria - Aperol Spritz
  • Netherlands - Improved Holland Gin Cocktail

Would like recipe
I made the Liquor.com and Diffords version - I preferred the Liquor.com one with Curaçao instead of maraschino.

I didn’t have Jenever so just used Gin. Β Enjoyed both - lots of tweaking you could do to balance it to your palate. Β I put almost no simple in mine to start and found it to be plenty sweet. Β Planning to hit up Total Wine to get some Jenever before the Dutch play again.

His voice soundsΒ like I am listening to a radio broadcast on some AM channel.
Again as an NJ Devils fan I am used to Cangi and he is a very nice guy but I love that the payoff when I read this comment and then went to his wikipedia pageΒ was way better than I expected:

"Cangialosi began his broadcasting career atΒ Sports Phone, a dial-in sports score service, while he was still attending college in 1984"

Probably dumb question I haven't given a ton of thought to previously.Β  Say there is a foul in the box in the run of play - is it always whistled down immediately or if there is still an advantage for the fouled team do they whistle the play down as soon as the immediate threat is over?

You can play an advantage - but unless it results in a goal, it will get called back, and the Pen given.

A quick update on the decision to continue the Denmark/Finland match:

Uefa gave them the choice of continuing the game that night, or playing at noon on Sunday. Finland eventually won 1-0.

Denmark coach Kasper Hjulmand later said the gameΒ should not have restarted, while former goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel said it was "absolutely ridiculous".

"None of the options were good," Braithwaite said. "We took the least bad one. There were lots of players who were unable to play. We were in a bad place. We made the least bad decision.

"We were told we had to make a decision. That's the only thing I can say. I wished there was a third option. Because I did not want to go out again. But Uefa said there were two options. We made a decision because we knew we would not be able to sleep that night."

Denmark goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel said: "We were put in a position that I personally feel that we shouldn't have been put in."

Turns out there was a third option - forfeit, so not really an option.

Yeah, I read this earlier this morning. Details coming out about being essentially forced to play are not good.Β  I read a few other articles on it as well.Β  Basically, none of those guys would have been able to sleep that night so trying to play the next day would have been even worse.Β  I think they should have been able to agree to a tie if Finland agreed.

What in the hell was the Scottish GK thinking there?Β

Wayne Rooney, who scored multiple goals from this range, told me the instant ball leaves your foot you know it's going in. His mind just went to the goalkeeper, hoping he didn't try and save the ball, knowing full well he would only humiliate himself, as David Marshall discovered
Yep.Β  You have to make it look like you're trying, but the GK has to know right away they're doomed and just going to look silly.

So that keeper was almost out to the half circle at the beginning of the clip.Β  Is that normal?Β  I mean it was obviously too high, but due to camera angles I have no idea if being that high is common with modern GK play.Β Β
You typically don't want to leave so much space between you and the backline where it is easy for a clearance to be run onto with a 1x1 from half-pitch. It's really rare at this level that someone actually gets a clean shot,Β it was just a very quick move.Β Roma caught out Ter Stegen like that (he always plays a bit far out).

Incidentally, I scored a goal sorta like that in the last intermural game I played in during college. A fun way to go out  Β
