Ⅿ- Mandalorian Series! (1 Viewer)

So who are the Spies?

And Moff Gideon has had a secret base on Mandalore this whole time?

His whole concept on the improved Dark Trooper in Season 2 was that the human component was removed. Now he just wants beskar armored dark troopers with people in them?

The continuity and writing on this show is, sadly, regressing. It is more Boba Fett and less Andor than ever. Especially the first several episodes of this season. The last one was pretty good though (notwithstanding the lack of continuity issue you identified) and I am hopeful for a strong finish.

How did she know that mandalorians were going to attempt to take back the planet?
Look to the title of the episode, note that it is plural. At least that is my thought.
Ahh. I think I have a guess actually.

The head forging mandalorian was very eager to get the wounded off the planet. Perhaps eager for a known reason?
Could be but man that would potentially ruin a good character.

Ruin or make more intriguing?

Why do we even need a spy inside the Mandalorians?

The Children of the Watch were living in sewers and had no motivation to take back their planet. Why would a spy be in their ranks — nobody even knew they existed.

Everyone and their mom knew Bo Katan was stealing ships and weapons to “take back” Mandalore. A planet that has been razed and nobody is defending (other than the new secret base that was there the whole time). Gideon didn’t know that they had already visited the planet a few times and that there were survivors not too far away from his entrance?

He didn’t need a spy to know Bo Katan was coming eventually. And the ex-Imperial told him they were coming and that the mandos had joined forces — he didnt need someone inside to tell him that.

But how did she know?
I think it was implied that she was tied into the pirates. So that then spins into looking into Mando.
Yea but how did she know their plans to take back the planet? Those plans wouldn't be known to the pirates

Gideon knew that was her goal years ago when she first was amassing weapons and ships. But the timing for it, I guess you have a point. He does have a fully functioning base there though.

Am I the only one that was waiting for Mando to blow up like I would if one of my kids was doing that?
I liked this episode except for the Grogu thing. That just seems stupid to me and frankly, the whole baby cooing stuff he does has ground my last nerve.

I would imagine the interaction between the pirates and Mando put the area under more scrutiny. Greef Karga knew the plans, so it’s not crazy to think that there is a spy in Greef Karga’s orbit that found out and relayed back to the ex-Imperial.

Yea I suppose that also works. I like the mando spy thing though so I am sticking with that!

Grogu's character is not meant to please middle aged men, you are not the target audience...just deal with it fellas.

Also, they see the monster thing from a mile away but continue to drive the barge right into it until they attempt a last minute evasive action(see what I did there) move? Cmon man!

But again, I loved the episode...tons of fun.

Speaking of large monsters, I assume the mythosaur will show up and save the day in the finale somehow. Looking forward to that.

It is obvious that that IG Iron Man suit thing will have something to do significantly with the plot at some point.... otherwise it will be very odd addition for no reason.

He had a lot of dialogue last episode!
No No No No No No No to that dialogue. Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes to an actual conversation.

Fine point, maybe I am a curmudgeon. My 21 year old daughter loves him.
Patience you need to have.
Patience I have not. Dude is 50 years old...SPEAK!!!

Yeah, there is no way we've seen the end of the mythosaur...a fitting ending would be for Darth Gideon to get swallowed whole.

I presume Grogu will use the force with it.

Maybe, but it's also already served a purpose by allowing Grogu to navigate around more significant distances without having to be carried or doing his awkward little hop thing, plus he's been able to more actively participate in some scenes (breaking up the mandalorian fight). I'm not sure it necessarily needs to have a more significant role in the plot.

Maybe but he's what I don't get, his little pod thing was entirely more mobile than the mechanical tin man. And he could seal it up. Just seems like a stupid plot device. The only benefit I see is they're going to put a laser on it at some point. Much like sharks with lasers on their heads, I'd probably watch that.

True, but now he's mobile and can participate in scenes are something other than a cute observer. Frankly, the comic relief of his scenes with it last episode were sufficient justification for me.

The benefit is they figured out how to get Grogu to start talking immediately, without years of learning mama dada talk. If he can "yes" "no", he can have a conversation if they up the interface capabilities imo. Great move on their part.

Axe Woves is clearly the spy. He has a british accent - obviously an empire ally!

:ponder:

Maybe she's secretly Maul with voice modulation. Taking advantage of the never remove your helmet thing. Gotta be it, she has horns and everything.

Which is higher rank..... Moff or Grand Admiral? I know Grand Moff beats a Grand Admiral but what of just a Moff? Paging the biggest FBG Star Wars nerd to lay down knowledge....

I don’t have that knowledge, but I thought that is sort of like equating a political office with a military rank. Bureaucracy always wins somehow…

Moff is like a governor. Admiral is military rank.
Yes, Grand Moff and Moff are political ranks but I do believe have military rank as well. A Grand Moff outranks a Grand Admiral or any other military rank in his sector. I am not sure if the same is true of a Moff.

Based on how Gideon acts about Thrawn, it would imply that Thrawn is a bigger deal than Gideon, and he views himself as a better choice.

I just assumed it was like the Governor and the national guard, or President and chairman of the joint chiefs type.
But I’m not sure the empire follows the same concept.

Ending on a high note I think. I had heard complaints about the final episode but overall it was fairly well done.

That was wild, but I have to admit that Boba Fett being the one to ride the Mythosaur and save the day was not the ending that I saw coming... especially after Ahsoka and Luke showed up to help fight Thrawn and Ezra.
..the only part of all that that really surprised me was Luke showing up wearing a banana hammock.

Dude, how did you totally ignore Lando showing up! Still the smoothest hombre in the galaxy.
