☕️ Official Coffee: The Elixir of Life (1 Viewer)

Love coffee ice cream but actual coffee has always grossed me out. Just always tastes super bitter to me.

When someone says something along the lines of "don't even talk to me until I've had my coffee" I want to punch them in the face.

Can't imagine getting to the point of needing 8 cups of anything to get through the day.  Obviously there are worse addictions but that's still pretty brutal.

i love a good, strong, bold central/south american bean that has a nice acidic after taste with berries (blueberries, strawberries, etc.)

Portland has some great coffee shops, but Extracto is the best IMO.

Know what else makes me want to punch someone in the face?

I drink Folgers.  After putting in chocolate milk, I can't tell the difference.  Might as well save the money.  First quart goes down great.

I have an automatic espresso machine at home and it's one of the best purchases I've ever made. It grinds the beans and makes the coffee with the touch of a button and it takes less than a minute to warm up to make the first cup.

I always drink espressos, black. I typically drink 5-6/day but that can greatly vary. Usually one in the morning right after getting up, one after any meal I'm home for and then mid morning or mid afternoon if I'm home and sometimes late evening if in the mood.  I find when I'm upset about something (like arguing with the wife), I'll drink 3-4 in succession without even thinking about it.  Days when I'm not home much, I might only have 1 or 2.  When away from home, I sometimes go days without it as well.  I hate buying coffee while I'm out as it's so overpriced and often disappointing so I don't ever have the urge that I HAVE to have coffee despite drinking so much of it normally.

Luckily, I can go right to sleep after coffee but I can also use it to help me stay awake if I need to.  In other words, I love coffee and coffee loves me.

Thomas Hammer Dark Roasts. I buy the beans whole, grind as needed.

And I drink it straight up - no cream, no sugar. No dilution of any kind.

Having said that, on occasion (maybe three times a month, maybe two, I will do a flavored latte. Now, I don't consider that coffee any more than I consider coffee-flavored ice cream (which I think is gross - sorry TELF16).  Never at Starbucks though - I have a couple places I like that have real cute baristas. My favorite latte is Irish Creme, but this time of year I do a latte with three shots of espresso, a shot of butter rum, a dash of vanilla and a dash of nutmeg. My favorite barista is a secret though.

No love for Bustelo in here?   pinche white people.  Best value for the money.
I drink Bustelo every day. Instant.

On Sundays, i fresh grind & french press a pot o joe w a good breakfast, but on weekdays for the last 25 yrs i start my day by filling a 40 oz Alladin tankard w water, two heaping tsps of Yuban or Nescafe, two more of Bustelo, creamer, then whip the #### out of it w an immersion blender and ice it down. Two of em a day. It was -4 when i got up but i was drinkin iced coffee.

I was in Corinth Greece a long time ago and ordered an iced coffee in a snack bar. The guy put tap water, instant and milk in a soda glass and slammed it onto a milk shake carousel. I liked the idea, found out how to do it @ home and have since. Heresy, i know, cuz i like good coffee, but its my thang.

I have had coffee with real crema on the top. Buddy bought some custom 2,500 dollar industrial strength all metal working pieces and it ruined me for most regular cups of coffee for a very long time.

I drink my coffee black now. It took a while but got very used to it. I like a local coffee brand here in Jupiter called Oceana, it's terrific and a few places around town carry their brand.

I buy a large cup of DD though on my way into work or at lunch almost everyday. If you work around me I almost always have a big cup of coffee from somewhere.

I like cappuccino with no added flavoring. Use to have a manual espresso machine and just got an automatic machine last week.

:coffee:

I love coffee but keep it simple. Keurig with a medium roast, splash of cream. Once in the AM, once after work. 6-8 oz at a time. I'd like to eventually get away from the Keurig as I know there are better coffees available and it's a terrible waste of plastic.

I know some drink coffee to survive. I drink it because I enjoy it.

That's actually worse.  You're drinking cheapo stuff that might not even be Arabica.  They're adulterating the good stuff.  :coffee:
What do you mean by "you're?" I was describing other people.

Lol it's still Arabica. Straight black for me. https://www.cameronscoffee.com/small-batch-roast

I buy whole beans on the company card and grind them each morning. One coffeemaker for my pot and one coffeemaker for Folgers crap. Just seven people in our office and only three of us drink work coffee. My first cup isn't until after 9:00. I don't even make coffee at home except maybe on weekends.

I drink caffeine soda at lunch too.

I have an espresso machine and a Keurig too but espresso is extra work. Haven't used it in forever.

The Keurig is a ripoff even with deals, plus it's weak if you make large cups. I bought one of those reusable inserts that you can put your own coffee in but it's just as much work to fill the reusable K-cup after grinding beans, and then washing it, that you might as well brew a whole pot since you're grinding. Kids use the Keurig for hot chocolate now.

This is the best coffee I've ever had and I've never tasted anything like it. Really mild with zero bitterness, yet rich and flavorful. Has a subtle sweetness and chocolate flavors, but not like an artificially flavored coffee. It's just so damn good. Order some now.
Sounds tasty and a nice treat.

With shipping it's $24.95 for 12 oz. That's $25.26 per pound plus $6 shipping. Seems crazy high. I'm a FBG but I don't like to pay for Seattle's high minimum wage and downtown overhead.

I need coffee to live. I make a 32 pot of french press every morning. I have been brewing a lot of the Koffee Kult beans lately. Often get a triple espresso drink in the afternoon.

Went to buy it to try and these were exactly my thoughts.

Worth it imo. For you single guys, make a cup of this for your date and the panties will drop, guaranteed.

As much as I would love to get the panties to drop off a co-worker, I'm not holding my breath for that to happen. I may order a bag for work still. How is the rest of their coffee? Have you tried any of their others?

I haven't. My mom gave me a coffee sampler for Christmas and this happened to be the first one I tried.

These look pretty sweet!

We have been buying the Kauai Coffee Acaia for several years. Order a 5lb whole bean bag about every 2 months. About $20/lb. Plus free shipping. Use a Bonavita coffee maker as most drip machines don't get the water hot enough (about 205f).

What's the most you'll pay for a really good 20 oz cup of coffee from a local coffee joint?

Mine has been anywhere from $3 to $4 depending on the situation. I had really fallen in love with a local place that used to brew another roasters beans but then they started to source and roast their own brand. The house blend is fantastic and I had been doing there regularly and was paying $3.75 for the large.

I walked in last weekend and ordered a large and they increased their prices to $5.50 for just a large black coffee. WTF. I sent my displeasure via social media and got a response back that they only make 12% profit on their drip coffee. Whatever. I can't justify paying that much for coffee. They won't be seeing me again.

Probably $4 or $5. Anything over $5 for black coffee is just silly. Even if it’s one of those unique varieties where the beans were passed through the digestive system of some third world animal.

One thing I would be very hard pressed to give up.

One cup to start the day. Keurig (don't judge me) with these pods - they make a decent cup.

Pour over if in the office or a Nespresso pull if at home in the afternoon. Splash of whole milk or cream.

Short almond latte or a cortado if at a decent coffee spot. Americano or short latte whole milk if Starbucks is the option.
