I can't see how that makes any sense. Worilds, Jones, ???

A little surprised, feel like they could have traded back a few spots and still had him. Really would have been happier with Dennard.

Worilds, Timmons, Shazier, Jones. That's a fairly impressive left to right LB group.

I knew they didn't like Dennard. It was a kick in the nuts Fuller went to Chicago. They took the best available. Gotta think he'll play ILB not sure how I feel about it but he was pretty damn good at OSU.

Well hopefully fast enough to catch the QB before the ball gets thrown.

This team just don't give a #### about corners apparently
They never really have. They feel they can get a guy in the later rounds who will make plays. Getting pressure on the qb makes the job of the defensive backfield way easier.

He's 229 pounds. How can he play inside? Why wouldn't they just take Mosley.

Yeah how has that worked for this defense in the last 3 years. If he can rush the QB and get the sacks then great but if not then get ready for more of the same

Surprised by the pick, but Shazier is real good. With the good news on Spence I didnt think they'd go there, but they did. I wish we took Dennard, but I think Shazier will be good.

Colbert on ignoring CB: "We're well aware of who we have. When we have a player of that quality, it will override need every time."

He's a very good player and an athletic freak who was shooting up draft boards but he's basically Sean Spence 2.0. A little surprised given that Spence just got cleared. I guess they're not putting a lot of hope in Spence ever being the player they drafted.

i'll like this pick better if we grab a solid CB and a solid NT tomorrow. but with the need at WR, we might need to trade down to get more picks to fill all those needs. the more i think about it, the less i like the pick. this has the potential to start a domino effect for our draft, and not in a good way.

How can he play INside? He needs to be covered up at this level. I can't see him being a particularly effective every down pass rusher at that size against tackles that outweigh him by over 100 pounds. I think he can be an effective blitzer and side to side tackler.

Don't get me wrong, I like Shazier and think he can really be an excellent NFL player, I'm just a little surprised by the pick.

I don't think Shazier was anywhere close to BPA
GB was definitely going to take him at 21, Cowboys were rumored to at 16. Seems like he was taken around the right place. Dennard is the 3rd or worse CB taken for a reason. Us mortals definitely overrated him.

Not even talking about Dennard.

Martin would have completed our line. Clinton-Dix and Moseley are both possibly better.

And use your effin clock. Trade out.

...And how much did Timmons weigh coming out? You guys have short memories. And when It say BPA, I mean BPA on their board. They don't like riddled injury history and they don't like underclassmen that haven't graduated.

You're right. I'm just a little emotional right now. :sadbanana:

I have a lot of Dolfan buddies down here that thought he was the guy at 19. IG the Steelers traded down any significant number of picks, he wasn't going to be there. They must really like him. His combine and pro day were pretty dazzling and he also had terrific on field production for a big school. 3rd in the nation in tackles last year AND 2nd in TFL. He's a playmaker.

Shazier was rated higher. By the Steelers. When you have a guy you covet at your pick and the phone is not ringing off the hook to trade back you make the pick. Easy to say "trade out" but much harder to actually do.

Of course the Steelers had him ranked higher. That's why they took him. I can still have an opinion that Martin or Clinton-Dix was a better pick.

Otherwise, what the hell are we talking about? Just clap family feud style with each pick? "Good answer, good answer"

Debatably not the best player at his position available. And low on our list of needs.

Yes, the Steelers disagreed. And I've disagreed with them.

Actually, that pick seemed to take longer than most of their recent first round picks.

Thank you EG for always bringing the knowledge.
