Glad Keisel is back. I was sad when I learned he might be headed for AZ. When I watched the news last night and they said he signed with the Steelers, I was confused and happy all at the same time. He will provide great depth and leadership/locker room presence.

Is Gilbert really worth that much?
If he continues to improve as he appears to have this season, most definitely. Looks like he'll pan out after all and if they didn't sign him before the season and he has a good year, would have cost more to sign him in 2015. Would have hated for him to hit free agency.

I heard He got a 2-year deal. A little surprised by that

Yes, i just saw that. I am surprised as well. Maybe they had to because of cap space.

Steelers RB Le'Veon Bell & RB LeGarrette Blount charged by Ross Twp Police today w marijuana poss. Bell also charged w DUI after stop today.
20 oz of weed.

:wall: :wall: :wall: :wall: :wall: :wall: :wall:
Just got home from dinner and saw that. Big smile on my face...not because I'm happy but because: WTF!! Looking like a good season and they have to go and screw up. Any chance the league will have mercy on the Steelers and suspend them at different weeks? :wall:

Someone has a hell of a sniffer.

Steelers running backs Le'Veon Bell and LeGarrette Blount will be charged with drug possession after they were pulled over Wednesday afternoon in Ross by a motorcycle officer who smelled marijuana coming from their passing automobile, township police said.

First offense for both. Should be no league action.

Stupid, but if they were to get anything near what Ray Rice got the pundits will go off

1) WTF were Bell & Blount doing in ghetto ### Ross twp?

2) Why did they need to have nearly an oz of weed on them in ghetto ### Ross twp?

3) Surprised it took this long to sign Keisel. I mean, they really only had 4 DL who have any business sniffing the field, so it makes sense for that and other reasons.

I don't think that's correct. Getting caught by league drug test first offense is no action. Getting busted by the cops is different. First is substance abuse policy, second is conduct policy. The DUI for Bell is probably worse. Blount might have a get out of jail free pass if the girl says the pot was hers.

Hopefully swift justice. Like 1 game to start the season. Against the Browns.
If justice had anything to do with it, people wouldn't get in trouble for such silly stuff.
We're talking the NFL here, where guys get a year off for weed and a slap on the wrist for beating people up.
Damn it. Why couldn't Bell and Blount just beat up a couple women?
Right?!

I mean they had a girl in the car already.

Wow, maybe the worst half of football EVER! Did they really sign suisham to a 4 yr extension?? They will have to score 30 a game to win and that isn't happening

I think Phillys O is going to be tough to defend regardless, but when its an OOConference old school D like ours, in the preseason, that matters. Worried, yes I am, but not thinking the Stillers season is finished.

Id say the most concerning thing is we got ZERO pressure on Foles 95% of the time, and Roeth looked pressured a ton. Run blocking looked very nice, but I have trouble coming away from this game with positives....outside of Bell's THC level, zing!

I keep telling myself that it was preseason but it was not fun seeing pretty much everyone on the first team defense get pushed around like that. Obviously there was little or no game planning so the scoring and even giving up some big plays is not a big deal but the front 7 were manhandled all night. I didn't see anyone shaking off a block and there were a lot of missed tackles. We knew going in the secondary was shaky but if the front 7 can't generate any pressure they are in BIG trouble.

Ben's numbers weren't bad but he was just a little bit off. He stepped up and tried to float a few passes that were slightly off the mark. Normally he makes those throws and some last night would have been for big gains. If Ben is on top of his game we would be feeling a lot better this morning. Overall I thought they were able to run the ball pretty well and AB and Heath Miller are in mid-season form. I think they're going be OK offensively.

Other observations:

* Something is definitely up with Suisham and I'm guessing it is the new holder/long snapper although you would have thought they would have gone through enough repetitions by now to work out the glitches.

* What is up with Dri Archer and the fair catches? At least twice last night he had time for a return -- if he doesn't have the stomach to return punts then get someone else that does (but not AB!)

* Speaking of punts, Wing didn't set the world on fire last night either. I gotta think the Steelers may look at the waiver wire for help. The coverage teams were pretty good though.

* The second team o-line looked much better last night. Gradkowski also had a good game.

* DHB definitely helped his cause last night. It will probably come down to the 4th preseason game but I think he is going to make the team.

* Speaking of the 4th preseason game I am thinking the 1st team offense and defense are going to get more time than they normally would.

Who cares. Its preseason.
This.

Every year people over react, every year they regret it.

No game planning. If people do not think a week of film and play calling geared towards a teams weakness doesnt have an impact, I dont know what to tell you. They dont worry about that stuff in preseason, they are trying to get the fundamentals down in preseason. The running game ran all up the middle last night, I think we will see a more dynamic run game during the season. Big Ben threw basic routes all night.

Preseason is all vanilla.

While this is true it doesn't bode well when your entire defensive unit, and I'm talking every single player, was physically beat by the Eagles offense. And things didn't get any better when the Eagles brought in the second team. Mark Sanchez led them on two substantial TD drives with relative ease.

I'm not saying the sky is falling but it was an embarrassing performance from a unit that was supposed to be getting younger, faster and stronger.

The Eagles tore apart the Patriots also, despite their talented defense. The results last night could easily say more about Philadelphia's offense than Pittsburgh's defense.

Thanks for bringing a little levity. Philly is good. Teams experiment in preseason. It's preseason.

Affidavit: Bell: "I didn’t know you could get a DUI for being high. I smoked two hours ago. I’m not high anymore. I’m perfectly fine."

More: "Why would I be getting high if I had to make it to my game? I have to be on a plane at 3 to be in Philadelphia."

That second one is one I thought about. Why would they be getting high on the way to the airport? Surely someone else would have noticed when they got there.
