If Ted Ginn Jr, Dwayne Bowe, or Robert Meachem doesn't fall to them, I hope Justin Harrell does. They absolutely DO NOT need to take a DB in the 1st rd. The Colts scheme doesn't require the Colts to spend a top pick on a DB (The Colts brass don't value DBs like other teams do), and the depth they lost can be made up in the later rounds. The Colts already have 2 players (Jackson and Hayden) that will fill in nicely for Harper and David, so it's depth they need, and they don't need to get it in the 1st rd.Edit: As far as your choice, Steve Smith, I'd be alright with that pick. Also, A Gonzalez for the slot would be nice, but I don't think I'd want him that high.
Thus is the genius of Bill Polian. I used to get so mad at him for drafting shrimp DBs, but I must say that some of those picks, along with others have proven to be better later than on draft day.(Edge over RW, Clark in the 1st rd, Wayne late 1st rd, Addai, Sanders early 2nd, Jackson last year, and I'm sure I've missed a few, have been down right astonishing).Harrell or Smith would be fine with me. I don't know enough about Harris - but if the Colts take him at #32 then I'd feel OK with that. I really don't want to see the Colts take CBs until their 7 mid-round picks. I said this week I expected Anthoney Gonzalez to be the pick at #32, but that was before I saw the Dayton Daily News report that the Colts want Justin Durant badly and would likely pick him at #32 because they think the Bears or Bengals would take him in round 2. The most likely thing is that the Colts will pick someone out of left field, and their draft grades by the national pundits will average out to a "C-", and the actually draft a few years later will be re-graded a "B".
WR at #32 makes perfect sense because of the value that will be there at #32 in a deep WR draft and the need. Of course if DT Harrell is there all bets are off. I doubt if a LB graded that high will on the board, so for me, it's either WR or DT at #32. God forbid they take a DB or TE. Yes, they need a couple of DBs for depth (take later), but that's it, and you don't take one at 32. I also hope they don't select Greg Olsen. Knowing Polian, he might just do that, and who am I to argue since his picks have mostly been right on the last few years.

I will give a list of 6 I think we end up with one of:
Ted Ginn Jr.
Anthony Gonzalez
Jarrett
Beason
Harrell
Tyler
We'll see.
I would love to have Lynch if he fell to us, but I don't see it happening. Also, Olsen would be sweet, again, I don't see him getting to us either."
We all know TE and RB aren't positions of need for the Colts. However, if Lynch or Olsen fell to us there, we'd have to consider it! I'm hopeful of moving down from the 1.32 but I doubt anyone is willing to give up much to move into the late 1st.
With Polian's ability in the middle rounds, I'd take a 2nd and 5th for 1.32. Someone may jump if a player like Harrell or Branch were to fall to 1.32. Ofcourse, I'd rather see the Colts pick one of those 2 guys there.
I now see one of the following as the Colts 1.32 pick if they don't make a trade:
Harrell
Anthony Gonzalez
Bowe
Robert Meachum
or in the unlikely event any of these fall, I think the colts take them without hesitation in my order of preference:
Poszlusny
Ginn Jr.
Branch
We'll see.
Why @1.32? I barely have him in the top 100! I think they could get him in the 3rd. That would be one hell of a reach! I know BP is a master of this stuff, but there are better players to be had.Be prepared for the possiblity of Justin Durant being the pick at #32. They explained that they that the Bengals and Bears also have strong interest in Durant (I assume the article meant 2nd round interest). I'm not saying they should do this at all. I'm just saying watch out for this possibility. Why @1.32? I barely have him in the top 100! I think they could get him in the 3rd. That would be one hell of a reach! It could just as easily be a "leak" by the Colts about a player they know two other teams would really like to get with their 2nd round pick. Ding! Gonzalez it is! I'd have rather had Branch or Poszlusny, but I'm betting long-term Gonzalez outperforms Ginn Jr.I think we over-paid for Ugoh, but oh well.My post from the other thread."I am hopeful of getting a DT, but I also don't see the 1 gap 1st rounder there @1.32WR at #32 makes perfect sense because of the value that will be there at #32 in a deep WR draft and the need.
