10 second primer (1 Viewer)

This tool is great but, unless I am missing something, it is tremendously lacking in customization to league lineup and scoring requirements. For example, I have one league that has a flex spot of RB/WR and I can't set that as an option. In another league there are milestone scoring bonuses and I can't add that, either.

Does this exist and I'm missing it? If not, why not??!!

EDIT: Fixed the lineup options, as it's RB/WR flex that a league has and that's not available.

Tick,

Thanks again...I am a Grantland junkie--I read the articles on that site religiously! Anyways, I really liked the Footballguys Rate my Team page, so much so, that I was interested in seeing if they have other tools that are as good as that, especially for in-season management. I have some concerns about the Footballguys player rankings/evaluations, as I have not been able to determine how they decide their rankings. I have generally leaned towards football pros consensus PPR rankings for their aggregate expert rankings, which would seem to help to eliminate some of the individual experts biases.
I guess I'm acting as the FBG shill here...

David Dodds is the best in the business. The site you mentioned shows preseason rankings: http://www.fantasypros.com/nfl/accuracy/draft.php - Dodds in first place. It shows weekly projections: http://www.fantasypros.com/nfl/accuracy/ - Dodds is in second place. This is over three years. It seems like this is always the case when these studies of accuracy are done (the methods used vary among the rating sites). I think I've heard that consensus rankings are actually better than any individual's rankings over time, but I could be hallucinating there. However, it's what FBG does with the data that makes the biggest difference to me. They aren't rankings, they're projections... so they mold themselves to whatever goofy scoring rule your league has. They also work across positions - it's been awhile since I used other sites, but I seem to recall problems when you wanted to know whether your 3rd RB or 4th WR was projected higher and should be your flex starter in a given week. Throw in free agent highlighting and league synching and it's very worthwhile to me.

Also, I'll act like I'm talking up FBG here, but it'll be pretty transparent that I'm bragging... suffice to say that you can come out ahead financially by having a membership if you have a bit of luck. Bragging details:

I won't play in pay leagues because I get too obsessed with things and don't want to mix money with obsession. That means that FF should be a loss for me every season. I pay for a FBG subscription and some MFL league costs every season, so it should cost me something like $60. Not a big deal since it provides gazillions of hours of entertainment, but still... However, I've actually been able to break even and even make quite a bit of money just through FBG competitions. I won a staff/MB survivor competition a few years back that paid well, and got far enough in some others to get minor payouts. Then there's the big member competition (which you've missed the entry date on for this season). Two years ago, I finished 4th, which meant a big payout, plus free entry into one of the pay FPC leagues, where I won the league I was in, meaning another big payout. I'd say I'm something like $2000 in the black over the past 15 years of FF without pay leagues, all through FBG competitions. I have a lifetime free pass from the wife to do FF with no glares because it's paid for a couple of vacations :-)
I just stumbled upon this thread, and I agree with the majority - the 10 second primer is terrific.

Tick, I read your spoiler, and I don't think I was aware that there were so many FBG tourneys. Either that, or I never took the time/energy to read about them and understand them. After reading your spoiler, I think I'm going to start next season.

Great feature. I don't use projections to set my lineups, but I do use them to see if I'm missing something entirely. Also like how it integrates the FA projections.

I certainly would never have seen it, had it not been for seeing this thread in September. That's a function of site design, which has never been a strong suit at FBGs. Probably never will be. Yet, still, I'm always left feeling that the MyFBG content is some of the stuff that ought not be relegated to the right side of the menu bar dealio thing. My 2¢.

Great feature. Thanks!

So I have pretty much quit using Lineup Dominator since we have this feature and it so much easier to use. One thing I would like to see changed for next year if possible is to make the scoring a little more customizeable if possible.

Otherwise this has been a great addition and since they updated the # of leagues you can set up it is even better.

I have been seeing pretty consistent errors in the free agent listings, especially in my deep roster IDP league. For example, it shows Paul Worrilow as a practice squad player despite the fact that he is on my active roster and in my lineup. I have seen similar issues where I've looked for a guy recommended as a potentially better play and found them on someone else's team in the past, too.

Anyone else?

Synced it and checked just prior to posting.

It's been off the entire season for me (MFL leagues). I stopped using it because it was a 50/50 prop of being right.

Yes, some IDP players especially have been an issue. I have gotten used to it though and worked around it. Still have found it better than lineup dominator due to the issues with MFL import and scoring settings.

It's been fine for me all season, 40 man rosters, with DTS and full IDP. *knock on wood*

I think there are a couple of problems with specific players, perhaps due to spelling mismatches. C.J. Anderson is always shown as a free agent in my leagues despite being on rosters in all of them. Perhaps there's a CJ / C.J. problem there...

No tracking issues here, but the injury bubbles are several weeks old. Do I really need a popover about Eddie Lacy in Week 7 ?

Still love the primer, though. Very nifty.

It is still my favorite feature. I like the projections so I can get to the screens on the Ds and what they have done weeks prior, but the primer gives you a nice view on all of the projections for all of your leagues. If you are in multiple leagues it is a great place to start.

Most of the bubbles are emptied out after they become irrelevant, but stuff about concussions stays in for good under the theory that its relevance is indefinite.
