My friend, who was a very conservative guy (and maybe still is) was a unique watcher of Israel and the Middle East. So much so, as a matter of fact, that Yale accepted him into their master's program to Middle Eastern studies.

He used to have a mug that had the Saudi flag on it and it said "15 of the 19," meaning that Saudi Arabia was the nationality of at least those many attackers on 9/11. We both would think for a minute and abhor our dealings with the Saudis in the years prior and in the years after.

Now, it appears that there is declassified information that ties a paid Saudi spy to the hijackers, replete with diagrams of planes descending on buildings.

"Soon after the 9/11 attacks two decades ago, the FBI quietly launched an investigation into a seemingly obscure Saudi Arabian government bureaucrat in Southern California.

The man claimed to be nothing more than a Saudi aviation official who innocently happened to befriend two Islamic jihadists in the months before they carried out the 9/11 attacks.

That story now appears to be false. The alleged aviation official was really a Saudi spy who reported directly to a Saudi prince who happened to be the kingdom’s influential ambassador in Washington and a close friend of President George W. Bush and other top U.S. government officials."

If this is true, we should turn that place into glass, or raid it and take its oil. Tough ####. No ####s given.

Or at least stop being so friendly/accommodating to them.

I'm all for doing something to let the world know what Saudi did - and do something to make them hurt/pay

dunno about bombing .... but let the world know for sure

100 years ago Saudi Arabia was a worthless desert than even the Turks, who owned it, didn’t value.

One of the reasons I am so eager to see an alternative to petroleum is that perhaps someday soon we can return this “nation” to its previous state of existence.

In many ways for quite awhile I've viewed Saudi Arabia as a bigger threat than Iran.  The whole situation with the government funded madrasas and the extremism rising out of them speaks volumes.

I mean.  Sure.  We’ve known all along — going way back — that if it was all about retribution for 9/11 we should have invaded Saudi Arabia instead of Afghanistan.  This really isn’t news.

Not really. Saudi Arabia had the former nationals, but nothing about the official word regarding 9/11 suggested government aid or complicity. In fact, the House of Saud and the American government downplayed any connection to the fullest of their capabilities, given that 15 of the 19 were former nationals.

It's astounding to say that number. It beggars belief.
