I was just reading an evaluation of the prospects for Caddy Williams and it was noted that the TB team had much more success when he had 20+ carries than when had fewer than 20 carries. My reaction to this startling bit of news was "DUH". I would bet that every team's won/lost record is better when their running back gets over 20 carries for the simple reason that when they lead in the Second Half they tend to run more to work the clock. To test the validity of this idea would be a daunting task, but an impossible one without some data. My question is does anyone know if there is any set of stats readily available which would break down carries by quarter or by half?
