Yep, you wanna play, you gotta pay.
Lost season for the Brewers anyway, no harm done.
He's taking it like a man; not fighting it and owning up to it. that's the way the cookie crumbles.

Umm... I think MLB has iron-clad evidence that he can't dispute and will it would only tarnish his name further for the evidence to come to light.Yep, you wanna play, you gotta pay.

1,000,000,000,000,000 to 1.*What are the odds on an A-Rod retirement announcement in the next two weeks? "I've tried to come back from this injury for months and it simply isn't cooperating. I do not want to distract the great Yankees organization any longer. I'm done."
The moment he realized that he was dead to rights caught. He's taking the Lance Armstrong route."As I have acknowledged in the past, I am not perfect..."
Not that it matters, but hasn't the guy pretty much denied all of this stuff for the last couple years ? At what point did he acknowledge that he wasn't perfect?
Well, I supported him when he got it overturned.![]()
Any chance he's taking the fall for a good friend?
It's not clear whether this will count as a first or second offense under the MLB Basic Agreement. Braun's big contract extension doesn't kick in until 2016 so I guess there's some advantage to taking the hit now as a first violation. So we're guessing he was given the option of going quietly for 65 games or having all the laundry aired for a 100 game suspension?
Betting he could have fought a bit of it...just given the power of the MLB player's union.Umm... I think MLB has iron-clad evidence that he can't dispute and will it would only tarnish his name further for the evidence to come to light.Yep, you wanna play, you gotta pay.

Unless the suspension papers spend the night with some MLB employee and Braun gets it overturned on a technicality.
FWIW the mlb players union has said they would not stick up for any player where there's overwhelming evidence against them.Betting he could have fought a bit of it...just given the power of the MLB player's union.Umm... In the end...this is between taking it like a man...and just realizing his season and the Brewers are done...so putting it past him rather than continuing any fight.
Don't really give much kudos as his statement never admitted more than "Ive made some mistakes".

"If I had done this intentionally or unintentionally, I’d be the first one to step up and say, ‘I did it.’ By no means am I perfect, but if I’ve ever made any mistakes in my life I’ve taken responsibility for my actions. I truly believe in my heart, and I would bet my life, that this substance never entered my body at any point.
This is nowhere near taking it like a man. He's getting the death penalty off the table and going for time served. This is a plea deal. Based on the way he acted today, I would not expect to see Braun again until spring training. He's got a new restaurant opening in Milwaukee (with Aaron Rogers) - most likely will be cancelled. If he does show his face, a sincere apology better be the first words out his mouth, but I don't expect that to happen either. The moment he realized that he was dead to rights caught. He's taking the Lance Armstrong route.
If he's smart he will not do any interviews, tweeting, appearances, etc. until the offseason at the earliest.
The timing couldn't be better from the Brewers perspective. They're in last place and will be selling their best assets soon. Braun has been nursing injuries for the past month or so and likely has no ability to use testosterone to get healthy anymore. As a Brewer fan, I'm happy - want him to get healthy, come back next year and give us 5 or more great MVP years.yepthis.This is nowhere near taking it like a man. You crack me up given what you've divulged about your life.Going to be hard to be an MVP candidate if he can't cheat.
So my personal problems mean Ryan Braun isn't a cheater? You crack me up given what you've divulged about your life.Going to be hard to be an MVP candidate if he can't cheat.
He had a fantastic season last year and passed weekly tests. Do you really think he wasn't using last year? Braun's numbers will be right back to his career norms.Going to be hard to be an MVP candidate if he can't cheat.

It is funny to see how many perfect people are in here though. I didn't realize no one has ever told a lie before, tried to get an edge in something, or when caught doing something objectionable deny it like there's no tomorrow.
I applaud all of you.

I apologize Abe. Totally inappropriate.
i'll even give myself a timeout. Seriously that was wrong.
He absolutely could have fought it, as I am sure the other 20 players are doing right now. 65 games, no appeal, no pay, during a lost, injury filled season, is still a lot better than 100 games, no pay, healthy season.Betting he could have fought a bit of it...just given the power of the MLB player's union.Umm...
