2006 NFL DRAFT (1 Viewer)

hmm. Why'd they trade up? dammit. I think a quality player would have fallen to them. Hope they didn't give up much. Maybe one of their extra 4ths.

Fred Taylor injury questions for the Jags and the Jets right after them...I'm thinking DeAngelo doesn't fall to the Colts...

Guess they didn't want Jackson or Moss, or didn't think they'd be there in time.

Wow. The Steelers gave up a 3rd and 4th pick fo get WR that was likely to fall to them.. Ouch

Perfect place to trade (with Chicago) for Houston or Indy if you're looking D'Angelo/White with Carolina and Jacksonville picks looming.

He wasn't going to fall to them...and that is who they wanted...you can only sign so many players anyway, so why not get one you really want.Great Pick Steelers!

Couldn't have had him at #32?

:lmao:
Obviously they didn't think so, and they had a ton of extra picks to play with.Excellent pick, and it fills a huge need in my opinion. Giving up the last pick in the 3rd round and a 2nd day pick is a fair price, and most importantly, they got the guy they wanted.

the Steelers have excellent team depth, a 3rd and 4th mean less to their team than it does to a SF or HOU.

Yeah. That kind of sucks. They do (did) have 10 picks, so they could give up a little. But their 1st 3rd and one of their 4ths to move up 7 spots? I guess they really liked Holmes and were afraid that the Bears wanted him.

Steelers do almost everything perfectly as an organization. IMO this was not the smartest move but as you said, they fill their biggest need and do get a really nice player.
