2006 NFL DRAFT (1 Viewer)

Calhoun is a solid complement to Jones. Not a threat to steal the job, IMO. The only reason I question the pick is because they just re-signed Bryson.

Maybe they just did it to :clyde: the pack.

If nothing else, this should put a fire under KJ. Calhoun will look very good in camp. KJ better bring his A-game with the new staff.

Not a good sign for KJ. Calhoun will be competing with Bryson for the 3rd down job but has the talent to be the everydown back. Poor man's Faulk?

The Packers are also having a helluva draft - Hawk, Hodge, Colledge, Jenning and now Spitz.

4. Jason Spitz ( 6- 3, 313), Louisville. Played guard as a senior, but likely will move to center, where he practiced in spring before his junior and senior seasons. A tough, nasty player who is fundamentally sound and will attract teams with his versatility. Has a history of injury problems.

Could be better than a poor man's version. He's got the skills and the speed, just needs to answer some durability questions. Like this kid a lot.

I like him too. I have been very high on him all along. Kevin is w/o a doubt a better talent than him though. He is basically everything Calhoun is on a little bit better at all of it.

This reeks of a Faulk/SJax RBBC for a long time.

Besides receiving.

Better talent, yeah. We'll see who wants it more, though.

Screw the Rams, Alston was supposed to drop to the Chargers. Would've been the ILB they need.

What did Jets get for the swap with Philly in the 3rd?
# 3rd round, No. 71: Chris Gocong, DE, Cal Polyfor

# 3rd round, No. 76: Anthony Schlegel, ILB, Ohio State

# 7th round, No. 220

I know they say watson is a bit lazt but I really think he'd have been good here

maybe he'll fall to the 97 pick

Wow, Pitt couls still land Bing or Simpson. :excited:
If they fell to the sixth and Pitt got one of them would you be happy or wonder why they fell that far and be worried?

I'd be happy. I watched both players and think they are not only much better than that, but nice fits to the Steelers.

If they do, Colbert was offically money in this draft. And he won't get the national cred he's deserved.
Why are you guys getting so worked up about two well-known players who 0 NFL Gms seem to want?Because youve heard of their names?

:goodposting: Obviously we aren't as smart as some of the GM's...much like all of us questioning why nobody took the Michigan safety last year that everyone thought should go in the 2nd round...what was his name again?? Shazor or something?
