Nice info, based on that I see the Bears going 13-3, losing only to the Seahawks at home, the Giants away and the Patriots away.

Little early for that kind of claim, there'll obviously be a ton of off season movement. And since the 'Hawks are the only NFC team that was also in the playoffs last year, claiming a first week bye for next year before this year's bye is a losing proposition. The schedule looks pretty favorable for the Hawks to repeat their playoff performance. Taking on 2 of the best RBs in the league (LJohnson and LT) will be a nice test for the revamped D. Plus the possibility of playing against Alexander! Thanks for the update, so sad that I'll get no Seahawks in San Diego. Had a 50-50 chance.

Little early for that kind of claim,
I think it's early to say even during training camps. Given the league parity and flip-flopping of teams (both good and bad), you never know how things turn out.

AFC EAST

1. New England Patriots Home: Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins, New York Jets, Houston Texans, Indianapolis Colts, Denver Broncos, Chicago Bears, Detroit Lions

Away: Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins, New York Jets, Jacksonville Jaguars, Tennessee Titans, Cincinnati Bengals, Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Vikings
So the Pats have to play four of the five AFC playoff teams, the AFC East, the NFC North, the Texans, and the Titans. Not bad, although the only two "discretionary" games just happen to be against the two toughest teams in the AFC that weren't already on their schedule (Denver and Cinci). Good to see the Pats-Colts game on the schedule as usual, and I'm glad we don't get another Pats-Steelers - I don't think it's dirty play, but those guys always manage to injure one or two major players on the Patriots.

For those of you that didn't know, the opponents for the next several years have already been determined (14/16 of them anyway). There are only two games each year based on SOS and those too are pre-set based on the team's placement in their division standings.

Speaking as a lifetime Lions fan and a recent Browns fan, I've gotta tell ya I rolled my eyes when I saw the sad smiley after the 5 losses comment. Must be nice to have it so rough. ;) Anyway, looking at SEA's, KC's & SD's oppenents, man it's going to be a TOUGH call for the number 1 overall pick between LT, LJ and Alexander. (assuming that Shaun stays put and Holmes retires)

I'm thinking I'll want to pick third and just take whichever one falls to me. It's looking like it might actually be Tomlinson in most leagues.

Seriously. That is one scary-looking schedule. :scared:

Packers appear to have a nice schedule given what players return.
Green Bay Packers Home: Chicago Bears, Detroit Lions, Minnesota Vikings, Arizona Cardinals, St. Louis Rams, New Orleans Saints, New England Patriots, New York JetsI'd love to see Arizona win in Lambeau on a last-second FG.

The announcers could say "RACKERS BEATS THE PACKERS!!!"

Detroit Lions Home: Chicago Bears, Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Vikings, San Francisco 49ers, Seattle Seahawks, Atlanta Falcons, Buffalo Bills, Miami DolphinsAway: Chicago Bears, Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Vikings, Arizona Cardinals, St. Louis Rams, Dallas Cowboys, New England Patriots, New York Jets
I like this schedule, but it's the Lions. I doubt it will matter.

Philadelphia Eagles Home: Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants, Washington Redskins, Atlanta Falcons, Carolina Panthers, Green Bay Packers, Jacksonville Jaguars, Tennessee Titans

Away: Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants, Washington Redskins, New Orleans Saints, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, San Francisco 49ers, Houston Texans, Indianapolis Colts

Great schedule for the Birds to have after the season they had. :excited: :excited:

Glad to see the NFL has helped those up-and-coming Patriots, in need of a solid season, with such a cakewalk schedule.Getting the Colts at home AGAIN was particularly a nice touch. :sarcasm:

Yes, I looked for that one too. At least the Colts host the Pats in 2 weeks....

:goodposting: When I saw the Eagles schedule this year, I also saw 5-6 losses. Then the wheels came off....

Imagine if you will no Plummer, Rod Smith and losing Mike Anderson for part of the year. Throw in a few defenders on IR (Champ Bailey?) and that schedule wouldn't look so easy.

Injuries kill. Healthy teams (with talent) win.

BT

I want the third pick as well. Looks perfect to me.... take who falls and plan for Round 2 and 3 value.

2. Washington Redskins Home: Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants, Philadelphia Eagles, Atlanta Falcons, Carolina Panthers, Minnesota Vikings, Jacksonville Jaguars, Tennessee TitansAway: Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants, Philadelphia Eagles, New Orleans Saints, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, St. Louis Rams, Houston Texans, Indianapolis Colts****Why do we always seem to play the Bucs? This is now 3 straight seasons we'll have the Bucs on the schedule. Here I am sitting on a pair of Jaguar season tickets hoping the Skins were coming in 2006 only to see the Jags are going up there. The Skins haven't played in Jacksonville since 1999 or 2000 I believe - whatever game it was that Brad Johnson hooked up with Albert Connell for 3 TDs.Colts on the road could suck, but you have to love road games vs the Texans and the Aints. Getting Jacksonville, Carolina, and the Falcons at home is nice as well.I'm calling an 11-5 record now with losses to Indy, Philly, Dallas (no way we do it 2 years straight), Giants, and St. Louis.

With the new alignment to 8 divisions of 4 teams (since the Texans arrived), each team will play every AFC team once every 4 years. The home / away will alternate. So Washington will be in Jacksonville in 2010.

1. Seattle Seahawks

2000 yards for Alexander. Their home schedule is a JOKE.

do they have any dates? Specifically, I'm wondering when the first (Thursday, I expect) game of the season is, so that I can back into when our fantasy draft will be.

Usually not announced until sometime around the Draft.

I agree that this is a favorable schedule. The Rams don't scare me at all at their stadium. The 'Skins fans I've talked to who made the trip there this year said that the stadium was so quiet it was comical. The 'Skins' biggest obstacles are going to come from their own division once again as all four teams will head into next season aiming legitimately for a division title.

Cincy and Pitt's schedules are ridiculous.
Those two schedules, including road games at Arrowhead and Mile High, are very similar to the 'Skins schedule this year. Brutal.

If anyone wants to, feel free to bookmark this page I made. I do this every year when the final schedule is released, but with this advance notice, I figured why not get a head start and make my life easier when that time comes. All I will have to do now is rearrange the order of the opponents and include the BYE weeks.

At least for now, this page will provide easy viewing of the 2006 opponents.

2006 NFL Schedule (in the works)

For some reason I got to thinking of this today -- the Thanksgiving Day games next year will be:Miami or Buffalo @ Detroit (likely Miami)andWash/Phi/NYG/Tampa @ DallasAFC team plays at Detroit on Thanksgiving next year, and the NFC schedule at home for Dallas includes the teams above and Detroit and New Orleans. Obviously Detroit can't be in that game, and it's highly unlikely the league would schedule the Saints for a showcase game. The Lions game looks like a snoozer, and I imagine Fox will want to put Gibbs up against Parcells for the late game. :nerd:

:goodposting: The Cowboys and Redskins have played numerous times on Thanksgiving, as well, so I would wager that's who Fox goes with.

This was exactly my thinking. They'll have lots to hype, including the 'Skins sweep of Dallas last year and the heartbreaking finish (for Dallas) in the MNF game. I just hope I still have an appetite for T-giving dinner after the game. :)

That's the first thing I noticed ... At this point, the Bears schedule looks easy. I think they have a good shot at going 11-5 again and winning the division.

FWIW...Most number of 2005 playoff teams played in 2006: 8 (NYG, DAL, PHI, TB, ATL, and NO)Least number of 2005 playoff teams played in 2006: 4 (SEA, AZ, SF, CHI, DET, GB)

How long until Chargers' fans start complaining about how hard their schedule looks?
Hard? Titans at home and Bills on the road? :hifive: I much rather have that than the Broncos (Colts, Pats) or Chiefs (Jags, Dolphins).

They better make the most of it and win both those game though and get something out of a disappointing 2005.

1. Denver Broncos Home: Kansas City Chiefs, Oakland Raiders, San Diego Chargers, Baltimore Ravens, Cincinnati Bengals, Indianapolis Colts, San Francisco 49ers, Seattle Seahawks

Thats what I counted too. 7-1 at home and 4-4 on the road. Loss to Indy at home. Losses to KC, Pitt, and NE on the road. the 5th loss comes to either Cincy, Seattle or SD on the road.Ahhh screw it, I'm picking Denver at 12-4

Only two of the games are floating depending on record. So not much variance can be obtained from 1 to 4 in each division as far as schedule.
