2007 NFL Comeback Player of the Year (1 Viewer)

On The Rocks

At the risk of making it too much of a "feel good story".....do you think considering his injury and some of the initial diagnoses, and his recovery would make him a valid candidate? He has been invited to participate in the coin toss at the Bills final home game this Sunday vs. the Giants.

I was thinking Randy Moss will be a landslide favorite to win but am curious if Everrett would be an unexpected darkhorse.

should be a race between Moss and Jamal Lewis .........

Everett is a great story about coming back to live a normal life, but the award has to go to someone who has actually played AFTER adversity.

Everett is a nice story, but this award should be for on-field endeavors.

Similarly, I don't think we should reward someone for dogging it and then suddenly deciding to play again, so that rules out Moss.

I'd go with Jamal Lewis.

 No WAY Moss should win.

Anyone Lewis is a good nomination. Did anybody come back from an injury?

Jamal?

For what? What did he come back from. He played in all 16 games last year...was not terrible...

2006 1132 yards, 9 TDs

2007 (2 games left) 1084 yards, 9 TDs

I'm a Pats fan but I don't think it should go to Moss. I lean to guys who had bad injuries for this award.

Tommie harris? He had a career threatening injury last year and made the pro bowl this year. I still don't think he is even close to as good as he was before the injury but some people didn't think he would play at all this year.

I certainly have no real insight into this award, but it seems that every time the Steelers play, the announcers talk about Ben Roethlisberger's recovery from various injuries that he had last season.

Is he a valid candidate?

Hasselbeck would not be a bad choice...missed time last year...was not all that good all year last year...to the pro-bowl this year.

How about Derek Anderson...granted, he was nothing last year...did Cleveland cut him? (I know Baltimore did before last year)...

I would think Ben is one of the frontrunners. It's often said that last season was completely lost due to his motorcycle accident and subsequent shaky play. 2006: 18 TD, 23 Int, 75.4 Rating, 8 wins2007: 32 TD, 11 Int, 104.1 Rating, 10 wins (so far)

One should not be rewarded for deciding to stop being a petulent #####. Quiting on your team to get traded to a contender and then performing is not a comeback. What it is, is evidence that he did not perform his Raiders contract in good faith. They should sue him to recover his salary.

Brett Favre is the comeback player of the year. Most everybody in the sporting world had already thrown dirt on his grave. Hell Favre didn't just come back, he resurrected. He battled through injury, change of staff, lack of receivers and self doubt to put up a terrific year.
