Things have been on the turnaround the past few days:

Two early plays:

MIL/STL O 8.5 -110: This is based on a system I dug up over at statfox...

Cincy +115: Volquez has shown early signs of being a quality starter. Cincy has lost 5 straight and frankly, is "due" for a win. Lilly has an era of 9.95 in three starts this year, along with a WHIP of 1.82. Throw in that Lilly "is experiencing what pitching coach Larry Rothchild calls a "mysterious" drop in velocity." - Rotoworld

Add in he has not made it out of the 5th inning in 3 starts thus far this year and I'll take Cincy with the + odds.

I like the under as well GM, but it is getting too chalky for me and I am not yet sold on Lohse so I am passing, but I'll be pulling for ya'll

Bad night for me last night, down almost 3 units (2.8 I believe), mostly cause of my RR parlay. Will not be sending those in again for awhile. Nice hit for GM though :hophead: Shoulda tailed that one.

Today I am on Milwaukee (Parra) +109 @ St Louis.

I also like o9 in the Cincy/Cubs game. Cubs are pretty hot with the bats, and I can't trust Volquez to keep up his good start. Lilly is pitching for the Cubs, and he's been flat out awful so far.

g'luck

I'm on the Cards as well. I was tempted by the Reds but the Cubs usually burn me one way or another, tough team for me to bet for or against and this looks like one of those spots because Lilly can't be as bad as he's been.

Ugh. Sorry for anyone that tailed. Hope the Reds don't Thompson/Valverde me today.Man, that under had a shot towards the end too. Well, they aren't always easy.

1-1; missed the total and hit the side... go figure....

I am on atl -1.5 EV tonight. I hate seeing Pros on the other side;

I lean to KC, but have not played it yet. COL may also be worth a shot as they did rough Peavy up pretty good last time he pitched against them ( see one game playoff last year)

I will be curious to see how Carmona fairs this evening as he was pretty wild last time out. I don't trust Verlander either so I am passing. I honestly think DET/CLE could be a 3-2 game or 10-8... either way

Thoughts for today, but I have not bet anything yet:

I lean to the Over and the Pirates this afternoon.

I hate to say it as I have dice-K on my fantasy team, but he has been walking way too many people. Boston is coming off a series with the NYY. I wonder if Texas provides any value tonight? Thoughts?

How spent must the COL and SD pens be - gotta look at over for both teams I would think;

KC - great value with Bannister this evening

Ugh. Jenks cost me a profit. What's up with Verlander?
His velocity is down 3-4 mph this year...something's up there....don't tell DD though.
In 2006, the only starting pitcher in baseball with a higher velocity average on his fastball was Felix Hernandez, who clipped him 95.2 MPH to 95.1 MPH. Last year, Verlander’s fastball averaged 94.8 MPH, ranking him behind just Felix and A.J. Burnett. There was no question about it - Verlander was a power pitcher with a great fastball and one of the emerging young stars in baseball.

However, with the calendar flipping to 2008, something has changed. In his first three starts of the year, Justin Verlander has averaged just 91.9 MPH on his fastball, a 3 MPH decline on his main weapon. Instead of lighting up radar guns with Felix and Burnett, he’s now throwing as hard as Jair Jurrjens and Nick Blackburn. That’s less impressive company, with no offense intended to either youngster. This isn’t just a normal early season blip, either - Verlander’s down 5 MPH compared to what he was throwing in April of 2007.

The velocity loss has clearly had an impact on Verlander’s performance so far. His walk rate is up, his strikeout rate is down, and he’s giving up more home runs to boot. That’s a rough combination, and helps explain the 5.73 FIP he’s posted during the first 19 innings of his 2008 season. While the Tigers as a team have struggled coming out of the gates, perhaps no performance is as worrying as Verlander’s. If his fastball continues to sit around 92 MPH for the remainder of the season, he’s going to have to make some significant adjustments to be the frontline starter that Detroit was counting on.

Come on Berman :headbang:  Can you snell that snell...I'm in with Pit this afternoon :headbang:
:pickle: Looks like we're all sorta on the same page today....Pirates, Royals....Let's make some money today.

I can't believe R.A. Dickey is back. Remember that guy pitching for the Rangers a couple years ago against the Tigers? It was the debut of his knuckleball and it wasn't pretty. Gotta hand it to the guy for staying with it. That said, I would think he gets lit up tonight, but I'm having trouble backing Saunders at that price.

Okay, so far I'm on:

Pitt+126

Mil/Cin o8.5 (-125)

SD/AZ u9 (-115)

Nationals +117

Indians -113

We'll see if I add anything to this :lmao: May not be around much later. g'luck

For tonight

COL +119

Atl +125(accidentally entered this bet twice so 2u  )

Balt +131

NYN +102(santana with + odds!!?? thank you)

SF +130

Was +117(I'll be betting them until they win, 1u, 2u 4u etc..)

I am thinking about unloading on this after the game SD had last night. SD then had to fly here and Az had the day off yesterday. This seems to easy. :goodposting: I am worried I am being a fanboy here.
