2008 your 10 Favorite posters (1 Viewer)

Its done almost every year, give me your favorite posters on the Shark pool forum. Here's mine in no particular order, there are others but these are my top Ten.

Jeff Pasquino: Great Dynasty stuff.

Bloom: Should be an NFL scout.

Lamey: Ditto - Should be an NFL scout.

Wildman: Best Damn publication for Rookie scouting on the planet. NFL teams should be beating down this mans door to lead their scouting departments.

EBF: Reasonable, good posts willing to debate and concede a good point when others make one.

Kelly's Hero's: Entertaining and unabashed and a fellow Cedric Benson Hater.

Ron Mexico: We will never vote for the same person for president but Ron gives it straight.

Chase Stuart: Analytical and scientific. Able to give precise and detailed analysis, probably the Highest IQ on the Board at any time.

Mr. Furley: It's Mr Furley thats all you got to know.

Fubar: Blatantly brings political garbage to the Shark Pool but gives real good opinions and brings great passion to everything he posts.

I think you have to include Horses Mouth in this list. Quite a guy!

I agree with the bolded. Some of the other guys aren't bad, but they aren't my favorite.

Agree with pretty much all of OP's selections. Some others that deserve consideration for me are:

MOP, Beto, LionsFan78, Maurile Tremblay, Kiddnets and GregR.

More than just 10, but here is my current list off the top of my head for various reasons

Bloom

LHUCKS

Lammey

Wood

Yudkin

SSOG

AhrnCityPahnder

Chase

bri

Haseley

Don't really have the time to put together a list of 10, so here's just a few of mine...

Yudkin - when he talks, I listen

Bloom & Wildman - their views on rookie rankings alone make this forum elite

jeter23 - man, does this guy put together some helpful threads.

FantasyTrader - if you haven't checked out some things he's put together, I suggest you do so

:pickle:I'm honored, and surprised. The first nine are guys I love reading, I'm just a peon here.

Definitely YUDKIN.

I think that he kept our sanity with NE and Bilicheat last year. Great insight as to what was going to happen on a week to week basis.

I also have to throw this name on the list:

H.K. - you KNOW that something is going to get stirred up when he posts!

I agree with the bolded. Some of the other guys aren't bad, but they aren't my favorite.
You were near my top list as well SWITZ, there are a good 20 to thirty posters that really grab my attention. Its never about agreeing with someone that puts them in the top of my list. Its always about what they add to the conversation. FUBAR is a great example. I'm not normally going to agree with his take, but I always read and Digest what he has to say. When I read a Switz post I don't feel like I'm getting enough of a contrarian view to my own opinions, there are exceptions of course but they are rare. Most of the time I feel like we have the same take on players. Some others that I like to read as well:

gianmarco - Digs up stats and whips them around like a hammer, we just don't agree sometimes on what those stats mean.

TheFanatic - Thoughtful can be full of himself sometimes (just like I can) but a must read.

David Yudikin - Another great effort in the scouting arena.

massraider - Another favorite even though I hardly ever see eye to with this one!!

Jason Wood - If you have read his posts you know hes got a great mind for FFBL.

Damn almost forgot to list NorrisB, best Avatar on the board. Just gives his 2 cents and another I tend to agree with more times than not.

Oh, it wasn't meant to be a complaint I wasn't on your list at all. ;) There's been a ton of great posters mentioned in this thread, and I could easily see why anyone's top-20 would include ALL of these guys ahead of me.

My personal faves are:

The aforementioned Wildman, EBF, Chase, Fubar

Add in Yudkin, Woodrow, MOP, Maurile, SSOG, Jedimaster21 (especially because we disagree), Jene Bramel, Jeff Tefertiller, Abrecher, Holy Schneikes, AnonymousBob, Banger, beto

And I got to add, for the humor ONLY, M=S

Frankly, any of these guys have great knowledge when it comes to FF. And that list is probably short due to a faulty memory of mine.

I'm flattered, but I have to ask... counting was never your strong suit, was it? For me, it's Yudkin (nobody plays the contrarian better), Tremblay (mostly because he tends to focus on many of the same things I focus on), Chase and Drinen (it's all about the numbers), and EBF and F&L (because they form opinions based on what they think and not what everyone else thinks, and then stand behind those opinions when everything hits the fan).

:hifive: Some amazing quality posters here that really make this place worthwhile.

Political garbage sounds like Bush's most recent speech. :goodposting:

in no particular order:

Bloom: knows his stuff

Lammey: brings a friendly neighbour vibe to the pool, excellent work on the draft profiles.

F&L: doesnt post much, but is the OP of "the thread".

EBF: i like the way he analyzes players, posts a lot which is very good.

Chase: excellent stat guy, should be the stat guy for ESPN.

Jene Bramel: IDP god

FUBAR: gives solid opinions and info, posts a lot.

Pasquino: smart guy, great work on master dynasty thread.

Deranged Hermit: gives insider Eagles info, what more could a guy want?

Rozelle: dont think he posts in the pool, but posts solid stuff in all that is IDP.

Honourable Mentions: Wood, MOP, Chaos Commish, gianmarco, andy dufresne.

LOL, the thread is supposed to be your 10 favortite posters...not the kiss up to the staff thread. :own3d:

Matter of fact, I was looking over the site a day and made an observation. I wonder if the young guns were not taken on staff, what FBG would be like? Seems that all the guys that started doing things around are far and few between. I understand business, but the brass only come out to police. Most of the content appears to be provided by newer guys too, while the older guys are still listed as equals. Just an observation and thought...

Too many to mention - this Draft season, Chaos Commish and EBF have been two guys who always caught my eye.

aside from that my loyalties change with the wind. WHAT HAVE YOU DONE FOR ME LATELY BLOOM?????

:goodposting:

Seriously though, I can only point to most of the others listed here and add my agreement.

I like the following:

Fear and Loathing - great dynasty thread and rankings

wannabee - patient guy that answers lots and lots and lots of questions in the AC Thread

wheelhouse - I loved his old during the season stat threads

jeff pasquino - involved and helpful

EBF - lots of good info on rookies (except DMcFadden)

Chaos Commish - ditto great info on rookies

LHucks - overbearing at times, but love his reviews

Derranged Hermit - great Eagles info

Maurile Tremblay - great Charger info and much more

Jason Wood - seems to give level-headed responses

David Yudkin - great Patriot info and more

Drinnen - absolute amazing with data, but doesn't post much

lots of others that I enjoy time to time on a great board

The old cliche "I'm a tier guy"

Wood, Bloom, Borberly, Bramel, Pasquino - Top Tier

A dozen or so others are Tier 2

Any list that doesn't include Tremblay isn't worth looking at.

The same goes for any list that includes that guy that simply makes up stats and quotes, and then if you ask him for a link can never produce one. Unfortunately, he's been mentioned quite a few times on here.

There are certainly more than 10 and to limit it to that is difficult. Guys that I often find myself agreeing with due to their levelheaded analysis are...

Wood

Bloom

Tremblay

Yudkin

Guys that I don't always agree with but I'll certainly listen to/enjoy their arguments (and once in a while they'll sway me :kicksrock: )

SSOG

For each team there are probably 2-5 guys that I'll look for to see their take. For rookies and draft info I'll look for chaos, ebf. For dynasty info F&L, Pasquino are always solid.

Bottomline there are TONS of GREAT posters on the site which is why this is the only site I visit.

:shrug:A lot (most?) of the staff is made up of guys who used to be "normal" board members. Their postings led to their addition to the staff. Seems pretty consistent and logical that they'd still be people's favorite posters.

That's true, but now they are staff and have been for over the past year. Listing staff is like listing a coach as your favorite player.

but in the end, I'm just having some fun in here.

It's the best place on the planet to exchange FF information.

Have you read the Clinton Portis thread? :lmao: BTW - MOP is on my list of faves, so it's no knock on him. But he can pontificate with the best of them.

agreed, betting on one's own team, while against the rules, isn't really cheating. cheating would imply an unfair advantage in the game, betting on your own team doesn't give either team an advantage.Anyway, the point being, Pete Rose or Ty Cobb, or many others, as player/manager is more like the staff here (most anyway) than most managers.
