2011 AL Most Valuable Player Winner (1 Viewer)

Seems to me he won largely because he had 24 wins and he had 24 wins lagely because of the crappy division he's in.
Yes, having the best ERA & strikeouts in the AL to complete the pitching triple crown and throwing a no-hitter had nothing to do with it.
He was a compiler in the American League's JV division. We saw what he did against real competition in the postseason.
2-1....

I think he was referring to Verlander's 5.31 ERA. Bautista got hosed btw. It's really quite silly how a player's teammates are valued so highly in how the majority of these voters end up voting.

Well then how well did Bautista play in the playoffs? It is funny how the two weaker divisions produced the two teams who played in the ALCS.

If a team doesn't even make the playoffs, just how "most valuable" can any of their players really be?In getting good tee times while others are still playing baseball?

:goodposting: 3.36 ERA vs AL East (4 wins in 8 starts)2.57 ERA vs AL Central (14 wins in 15 starts)Beating up the AAA teams to win the MVP. Congrats Verlander. Come play in the big boy division and see how those numbers turn out.

The big boys were spent competing against each other during the regular season. Shot their wad. They had nothing left in the tank.
