2011 Strength of Schedule (1 Viewer)

Every year we look at Strength of Schedule and try to forecast results based upon it. Here is the 2011 Strength of Schedule Chart. It just doesn't seem fair that the Panthers have the toughest SOS. Question: Are there any teams here that you think will surprise this year based on SOS? I'm thinking about a team like the 49ers who have shown promise at times and now have one of the supposedly weakest schedules in the league. Or, will the season just revert back to the usual suspects going to the playoffs? I have no pre-conceived ideas about this as of yet, but am just throwing this out there. I am assuming of course that we'll play the whole season...debating that is an entirely separate thread of course.

as a KC fan I am really worried about Chief fantasy players this year and will be staying away.....Cassel/Bowe/Charles benefited from a cake schedule last year and I think it will be that drastic in the other direction this year....

redraft, head to head, non best ball....weeks 11-15 are brutal....NE-PIT-CHI-NYJ-GB....are you kidding me....plus road games at INDY and DET....

a guy like Charles who you may take in the top 4 picks should be a no brainer start for you all year....just not sure he would be during that stretch which is crucial (fantasy playoff time, etc).....

I don't normally let a schedule dictate much of my draft, but that is murderer's row right there.....why didn't the NFL just mix in BAL somewhere too..

SOS is less concerning than the final weeks of a schedule for me. Like KC's final few weeks mentioned above, those gauntlet type schedules to end a season will impact my drafting. I'm not taking JStew over Charles because of it, but Ray Rice certainly looks more attractive with Clev / Indy / SD / Clev in weeks 13-16. That's any easier sell in re-draft & short term keeper formats, but I'm still not completely sold on Charles either way. The utilization is tough and makes him somewhat inconsistent and with Weis gone we could see an offensive regression.

I like the Lions to impress despite a tough SOS, assuming Stafford makes a full season for a change. Nobody else jumps off the page out of the top section of teams. The Bucs and Rams would be my picks for teams that capitalize on their lower SOS.
I'm thinking about a team like the 49ers who have shown promise at times and now have one of the supposedly weakest schedules in the league.
It's an illusion. The 49ers have the weakest schedule b/c their division is so damned bad. All 4 of those teams get a similar and equally misleading SOS because they all suck. I'll roll the dice on the Rams since they are the only team in the division that looks to have a viable QB.

:goodposting: AFC north should have a good fantasy showing this year since playing NFC West.....I think all PIT/BAL players get an extra bump since they also get to play CIN/CLEV twice
