2012-13 English Premier League Fantasy Football (1 Viewer)

Yes!! We needed that Liverpool goal
I screwed up by not playing Zamora. All I need is for vason kompany to score a few goals here.
If I am doing the math correctly, I think you just need a single assist to win at this point (assuming no bonus points). One assist gives you 42 points (after subs) which beats our 40 points after subs.
Ok now you do need a goal from Kompany I think to win. An assist gets you a tie.

They gave an assist to Tevez on the City goal. The ball touched two, maybe even three Liverpool players before it found its way to Toure. I wonder if that will be changed?

Wow, are we fortunate to have won this week (assuming Kompany is not voted man of the match which should not happen).

We were missing 5 of our 13 field players (3 to the postponement, 1 to injury and 1 to the impending transfer).

Good news is that we should have a double week for hopefully two of those players from the postponement later in year.

Now we need to sew together a defense for next week. Back to the transfer board :)

Sebowski/Gooooooooooooool FC still wins the game this week but gets a 10 point adjustment in total points if we have to go to tie breaks

with all the new players coming in, I wonder if you could have almost a full lineup of clones at this point. This is the worst part of this league, but with the transfer window like it is, there is no way around it unless we wanted to start the fantasy season next week.

Do clear mistakes in scoring typically get fixed by the site or once they are typed in wrong are you kind of stuck with it?
They verify assists before awarding match bonuses
Yeah I read that in the FAQ. It won't make a difference this week but was just interested to see if it will be fixed. At least from reading the rules I now know why Tevez's assist counted last week even though it hit three opposing players before the goal was scored.

Yikes, it now looks like those three points could be critical, depending upon what happens in second half. It does look like from the status message, the mistake will be fixed before scores are final"The assist for the Norwich goal has been queried with the Press Association. It appears Grant Holt not Russell Martin gets the last touch."

Eephus, you may have picked up a nice break in your game against us this weekend. RVP was subbed out at half time of the Dutch game with an unknown severity if a thigh injury.

Note: Iron_Far has an illegal lineup by starting Michu this week. It won't affect the result but wanted to mention it anyway since we play Iron_Far next week. http://fantasy.premierleague.com/entry/579305/event-history/4/
Oof. Iron_Far has 8 points for the week so far and neither his C or VC made an appearance.
What is a wildcard?A wildcard allows you to make unlimited free transfers throughout a Gameweek. Playing a wildcard will remove any points deductions from transfers already made in the same Gameweek. You play a wildcard when you want to make multiple changes to your team, for example Gameweeks when teams are playing more than once, or when your team is underperforming or has a lot of injuries. When using a wildcard, you must remain within your current budget. There is no unlimited budget when using a wildcard.
When can I play a wildcard? You can play 2 wildcards a season. One wildcard can be played at any time. The January Wildcard can only be used after Gameweek 21 starts (1 Jan 11:30) until Gameweek 24 ends (2 Feb 11:30).Wildcards are played on the transfers page but aren't active until you have confirmed the transfers.

Just so everybody is on the same page, players like Fletcher, Sahin and Julio Cesar who were drafted but weren't in the FPL database by the week 1 deadline are eligible as clones to everybody.

I have been meaning to ask about this, thanks. I remember you drafting Fletcher so I was confused when I saw him in so many lineups last week. I don't really get that rule, but whatever.edit: Google drive doesn't work for me here at work, are players like Lloris, Sahin, Fletcher, etc called out on the spreadsheet as eligible?

Yeah, it's pretty obvious if you're using the Google Doc.

How did Fletcher suddenly become available? I thought that was an Eephus pick.

And apparently my pick of Cesar is a free-for-all.

I'm obviously missing a rule somewhere.

Can someone give me a quick primer on how to cut and sign a new player for my team? It may be covered in here somewhere, but I'd like the most recent info on what day I can do it, what to watch out for, steps to take, etc.

Seems I get the player to cut's current value to spend, but with a small transaction cost?

TIA

1) look for the link on the EPL Fantasy web site that says Make Transfers2) Choose the player you want to transfer out by hitting the X next to the players name3) Your available money to spend will equal your bank plus the current value of the player you hit the X next to *4) Choose a player to transfer in following all the rules the web site will enforce plus making sure the player is not already protected by another team via the draft (see the first post in this thread). 5) You are allowed one free transfer per week. Any transfer after that in the same week will cost you 4 points in your up coming game. Note there is a wild card you can also use (see post Eephus made above). *There is no transaction cost, but players values can change from week to week.

He didn't transfer in until after week one.
Yeah, I just saw that rule. I guess he goes in everybody's side. I think that's a dumb rule given the transfer window, but it seems to have always been that way.
I agree. I think you obviously have to drop and make a good lineup for week 1 but would say that you should still keep rights if your speculation turns out to be true.

I was looking at various transfers and saw that GPJ used 8 transfers last week. Did this result in a massive loss of points? I did not notice any penalty for this whole sale changehttp://fantasy.premierleague.com/entry/82912/transfers/history/
I used my wildcard.
Ahh I see. For some reason I thought wild card was just for one extra transfer.
Nope, unlimited transfers for one round. I think we all get a free one during the winter break too?I certainly got my money's worth...

Yeah very well done! There is one more that can be used in in the month on January only. The first one can be used any time during the year.

Even though I could have benefited from exclusive rights to Stephen Fletcher, I think the current rule is the fairest way to approach it. It's an improvement over last year's deadline date at the beginning of the draft.FPL has no notion of a FAAB or waivers process and probably never will. I enjoy this league but running a manual transfers process would get old very quickly. If you can get over the idea of seeing one of your players on the opposing roster, the current rules are OK. They provide everybody with an equal chance of improving their teams and a way to deal with the small benches allowed by the FPL site.Re: Iron_Far. There's always a risk when allowing owners who aren't frequent posters. At least he paid  I'll email him at his Paypal address.

Yeah, I have no problem with a little overlap if it helps people be more competitive. The way I look at it is you still have the cat and mouse of who you are going to appoint captain for the week if both teams share a player.
