Not a bad way to spend 12 grand. Have a guy who is clearly a winner and competitor hang out with the rookies and young guys for a few weeks, take some hacks, field some grounders, etc. All about having a winning environment around your team at all levels.dparker713 said:

Infante is a better player in real-life. Still no speed or power. He's unlikely to bat near the top of the order in KC with Gordon and Aoki around.

He was a solid fill in last year. 2B is such a black hole for fantasy purposes. A guy who can hit .280-.300 can be useful. I see him as a nice guy to target at the end of a draft/auction if you have to start a 2B AND a MI.

He put together an outstanding contract year. 5.1 fWAR in 2013. They're a better team with Uribe at 3B and Hanley at SS than with Ramirez and Gordon.
Omar will be near the end of his career by then. The 3 million may come in handy rather than rolling the dice.

I could see him sticking around beyond the year if he pans out. By all accounts, he'll fit in the clubhouse perfectly. He may need to learn to play 3rd (only 8 games there in his career), but I don't see why he couldn't play there occasionally.Not too shabby with the glove either. He will be 37 next year. He has played 1314 of his 1342 games at 2B. Might be too late to switch him to utility infield guy.
3B is easier on the defensive spectrum than 2B, where he is already a master. He could handle it.
