*** 2013 Official Philadelphia Eagles - NFC EAST CHAMPS*** (1 Viewer)

I honestly think this will be a shootout. Our Defense isn't very good and theirs is ok.

Redskins 45 Eagles 38

Redskins will have 2 priorities in this game, get the W and don't get RG3 broken. I think they'll try to beat us to death with Alfred Morris, and a play action passing game off that. I think we see very little if any of RG3 running.

On D I think they'll park a safety over Jackson and keep numbers in the box to stop the run. I expect a lot of blitzing out of the slot, coverage rotations and pre snap movement to try and confuse Vick. Also think QBs on run fakes are going to get hit a lot more this year than last, and we'll see that in this game.

The reason the option wasn't used in the NFL for so many years is there's an implied bargain between the O and D on an option play; we'll let you hit the QB if you give us 5 yards. Last year defensive players were tentative in what they could do in those situations because there's so many rules protecting QBs. That's clarified now and it will be coached aggressively.

I think we'll run for 150 yards and there'll be a couple of turnovers on offense.

WAS 24 - PHI 17

Lets get this party started. I'm very excited for some real football. Don't forget the game starts at 7pm tonight. Should be obvious but in case some forgot.

Technically, 6:55. :)
You know kickoff wont be till 7:12 the way ESPN is.

Haven't been this excited for an Eagles opener in a few years. I think part of it is the curiosity of Chip's new offense and haring so many people say that they haven't really shown anything yet. If they're not a playoff caliber team for a year or two, I'm fine with that. As long as they're exciting to watch and showing improvement.

I just have to say....I really wish we had a QB with the intelligence and class of RGIII

That said...GO BIRDS!

As good as this offense is, imagine it with a better QB. Vick is a good one year stop gap, but I still think the Eagles need to get a QB in 2014. Boyd seems perfect. I don't think Mariota will leave that early. Seems like the kind of kid who will stay till at least his RS JR year.

Redskins are open every single play. Incompletes only seem to happen when Griffin overthrows.... Defense probably fools gold the first half with Griffin rusty...we're still not stopping any quality offenses this year.

Should have called a screen to Shady there. High percentage play against a fierce pass rush that would have probably gotten them back into FG range and killed another 35 seconds

There's our world famous, cynical, bitter Eagle fans. Can't even enjoy one opening day victory with the new coach without being a pessimist. Life much suck being so miserable.

Still concerned about the defense, but this will be an exciting team to watch. They have a shot at the NFC East title I think.

What a win. Feels good to have a coach who understands time management and use of time outs. We are going to lose some games no doubt, but our offense is legit. On a side note, Vick took some shots. Not sure how many games he will last

A lot to love about this game but still plenty to worry about.

Vick will not last until week 6.

McCoy is awesome but 30 carries is too much. I hope he gets throttled back to 22-25 with Brown and Polk mixed in more.

The defense looks like it could be a fun aggressive bunch. Got caught in the prevent a little though.

Agree with this. If we're not going to be a SB contending team then as a fan I at least want to be entertained and this offense is fun to watch.

Only thing that concerned me is how the offense slowed down after the 1st half when the Skins undoubtedly made adjustments. But I've honestly been pumped about the CK hiring since day one, especially knowing that a coach like Belichick was influenced by CK in Oregon.

If Vick can stay on the field and if the defense can just be average then this team has a shot to at least be in the mix for the division.
