2014 NBA Draft Thread - A Tradition Unlike Any Other (1 Viewer)

Two things NBA teams are convinced they can teach any draftable player:

1) How to add muscle through weight/strength training

2) How to become at least a competent shooter

With all the guys near the top of this draft who are either rail skinny or can't shoot, keep that list in mind.
why again do the same teams continue to pick at the top of the draft?
Four of the teams in the top seven picks tonight made have played in the NBA Finals as recently as 2007.
because their best players got old and/or left, domino effect.

It was my tactful, indirect way of saying your statement was full of ####.

@WojYahooNBA: Orlando will select Dario Saric with No. 12 pick in the NBA Draft, league source tells Yahoo Sports. He'll go to Sixers for Payton.

what's the lottery looked like the last few years? And of those no longer in the lottery what did they do to get out? Don't get cute with their picks. Pick talent first, potential second.

Tons of guys picked on potential turned out. Tons of talent didn't.

So the Magic are trading for the guard that everybody says can't shoot, to go with the PF who shot like 35%.

@WojYahooNBA: Saric had been the Sixers choice, and finally called Magic to offer Elfrid Payton with 30 seconds left on the clock, league source said.

Did Broussard just say Irving would 100% resign if Love and James come?

Thanks Chris, top notch stuff.

SOmebody give some thoughts on Mcdermott to the bulls pls
Bulls desperately need more scoring, especially a deep range shooter. McDermott is a fantastic shooter who has enough post moves to punish SFs guarding him and enough range to screw up the defense if they put a PF on him. On-ball defense is a negative, but he's a high BKBIQ coach's kid who could be a good scheme defender if not given too much individual responsibility.

Rajon Rondo 2.0.

Super fast/quick. Can create and handle the ball. Plays way above the rim and create his own shots. Kills you defensively. Very "long" PGs. Causes fouls.

Shooting is poor. Both are 55% FT shooters in college.

here is my thought on buckets to the bulls crap crap crap i did not want that to happen because i really like doug and think he will be a lot better then most people think and will be an all star a bunch of times before this is all over with and as a bucks fan that stinks but hey i guess milwaukee is so bad i have to like someone i guess take that to the bank brohans

I love these NBA trades on live tv.

"Hey everything we just talked about for 5 minutes is now completely irrelevant."

Meanwhile Wojo on twitter is miles ahead of every pick.

Sixers get back their 2015 first round pick from Magic - which was protected and couple have been a year or two later.

*the previous 4team trade was very confusing.

Saric and Embiid to the Sixers? Hello 2015 Lottery!!!!!!!
And 2016
Won't play well with the WIP jabronis....but that's fine.
Amazing how Hinkie is almost getting the Sixers back to not owing anybody anymore picks that Collins and the old Sixers regime all gave away. Awesome what this guy has done in a year and half. Sixers are going to be absolutely stacked in a few years
Agreed. It won't play well with a lot of fans but this team is closer to a title than 2 years ago. Like to see them trade back in and get a shooter.
