2014 PGA Championship - Valhalla (1 Viewer)

And now I can see why Justin Rose is missing those putts and probably cost you some coin. When you look at his 10' putt stats, he is 30%. Out of ten 10' putts he's only making 3. Ouch.

Crazy for a guy who was playing like one of the best in the world for most of the season. Seems like a significant hurdle to overcome. Must've been doing everything else right.

This McIlroy kid is pretty good.
His best is every bit as good as anyone ever's best. Tiger will always be the most "clutch", but Rory's game has set a new bar IMO.
Were you not alive in 2000?
:goodposting:

Wake me up when Rory wins four straight majors (including one by 15 shots and another by eight) and seven straight tournaments.

Wake me up when the competition was anywhere near as good as it is now.

Tiger was more dominant, for sure. But Rory's game right now is as good as I've seen. Like everything else, the game evolves.

And two of Rory's three majors were complete blow outs too.

You guys are getting your threads mixed up. The bad one for this conversation is down a few notches.

So is Bubba the new Tiger in the clubhouse?

Seems like most of the guys can't stand Tiger either
The golf media guys I read and follow on Twitter seem mostly OK with Tiger. They don't particularly like him, but they get that his life is different than most bc everything he says and does is blown out of proportion so some of them give him a partial pass at least. They HATE Bubba.
What golf media guys? Thx

Pretty sweet bod on Montgomery....
 I noticed that too. Maybe the lower center of gravity helps the golf swing? Either way, kudos to him for making the cut.
One of my lowest points ever. I got invited to play in the pro am at Tiger's tournament at Sherwood CC one year. So I show up, head into the locker room, Nike guy is sitting there with a stack floor to ceiling of golf shoes - take your pick. Sweet. Head over to my locker. Can't believe they let my kind in, let alone seeing Smails name on a locker. Then saunter into the Men's Grill. Fred Couples is at the omelet station. I walk in behind him. I order a nice ham, mushroom and cheddar and Monty, fitter than me at the time in his one svelte year, says "I'll have what he's having, but no cheese". I felt like a fat ###.Now he is Kate Upton-ish..

:lmao: Very cool to be among that group though.

Furyk tied for 2nd.

Finished Top 15 in every major this year.

If not Rory, would be great to see him win one more. Mr. Consistent.

A great leaderboard right now as you have Rory, two of the best young players to never win a major (Fowler & Day) and a couple of older major winners (Furyk & Michelson). Really has everything except Tiger, can't wait to see it play out on what should be a soft course.

I win $2k if Fowler wins. GO RICKIE

Fowler top 5 in both majors so far...tied for 4th.
Touche

Happy to see a great leader board either way.

Only slightly disappointed I'll be on the course myself for most of it.
A duel like Furyk v Fowler would be great...the cagey vet with a penchant for closing poorly in big events...the young star who always seems to be around, but hasn't taken the bull by the horns in a big event yet. Hot Sports Take?

Anyone but Bubba. What a tool box.

Rory wins this baby.
Think about what a giant dooshbag you have to be on a consistent basis to have everyone hate you even though your name is Bubba and you bought the General Lee and you use a pink driver that you hit a mile with crazy movement and you cried when you won the Masters on an amazing shot out of the woods. That's a lot of fan-friendly stuff. And yet here we are.
What has Bubba done?
Good article here

I love how it's gotta take a religious angle right away.

Some people are very different in and out of the spotlight.

Rory, Fowler, Kuch, Furyk...probably the same in either. Phil is widely considered completely two-faced.

My cousin has hung out with Bubba outside the spotlight and says he's a great guy...so there's evidence to me at least that he just doesn't handle the public well.

Phil's the only guy I find myself actively rooting against at times.

I met Phil ~10 days ago. I don't like him but my wife said I should get a pic with my son, so I asked. He couldn't have been nicer.

As an aside, my wife noticed him and suggested I get a pic with Ernie Els. My son asked why I wanted a pic with the guy I am always rooting against. :bag:

I know Dan Jenkins is widely revered as the greatest golf writer of all time, but he is coming across like a major get off my lawn old man doosh on Twitter this week

I'm a huge fan of Jenkins, but nobody who has read Herbert Warren Wind or Bernard Darwin holds that opinion.

Replace this Weisenheimer fella with Tiger Woods and this woulda been the greatest Sunday set up in a very long time.

Anyone else see what happened to Thunder Bear Oleson?

Par 3. Dude hits beautiful tee shot that lands in the cup, but bounces out and off the green.
