2015 - Le Tour (de France) (1 Viewer)

Surprised there wasn't more Sagan picks.
Didn't they change the rules to more benefit stage winners this year? Sagan kills it on all the intermediate sprints and the slightly hilly stages, and I don't know if the tour is super happy having a guy dominate green who doesn't win a ton of stages.

Plus, he went from being *the* guy on the team to almost an afterthought on a team with GC aspirations. And he only cost two less than Nibali.

Yep - last place. Pretty much same as last year.
Being last after one short TT isn't exactly the worst place to be. I fully expect to be *way* behind after the first week.
Honestly I don't even know who won. I'm on travel until the 18th, so lots of DVR catching up to do when I get home.
Rohan Dennis who was on my squad until I decided he would end up sagging TJV up the hills 5 mins behind everyone else.

Yes they did. And you are right about the GC stuff for him. I didn't expect everyone to catch on to that.

Anyone else surprised that the GC guys didn't do better today? I guess they left the blood bags in France.

Sort of surprised Froome didn't do better. Shocked that Quintana is as close to the other three as he is.

I Expected Froome.......Nibali/Contador............Quintana

Well my entire team is sitting at least 90 seconds behind.

Good news is that this should make for an exciting tour. It will be hard for any one team to control the attacks and the contenders should spend a lot of time isolated.

Glad to see Cancellara in yellow.

On the plus side all of my riders finished both stages!

ETA: I actually had a good day :oldunsure:

Really sort of odd to neutralize a stage like that. I can see it though if they completely ran out of medical staff up at the front, then fine. But I can't really remember something like this since they got all the tacks on the stage a few years ago.

I love the guy in the red shorts who thug lifes the hell outta the crash (bottom right side of the screen, slides for meters and pops up)

Tomorrow should be exciting. Astana/Nibali need to put some time into Froome, so they should be going from the gun. They have the team to do it with Nibali, Boom, Fuglsang, and Westra all in the top 15 of last years stage including the top 3. They'll be going from the gun and forcing Thomas, Sagan, to either cover their move or stay with their leader.

With it being dry I doubt they can put 2.5 minutes into the pack like they did last year, but 1-1.5 minutes is certainly possible especially since Boom will be cooperating this year.

I wonder if, rather than covering for him, Sagan will be able to drag Contador along with him?

He can drag him a little, but on the cobbles it's pretty much pure power and bike handling. Sagan's value is more in positioning, setting a line, etc...he's not going to be able to drag Contador along at the back of the Astana train once they blow the race up.

Cancellara out
That sucks. He was my best rider through 3 stages, even with the crash today. Down to 8 riders.
I am also currently down to 8 (Dumoulin), but I have to imagine that Ten Dam will drop as a result of that crash as well... leaving me with only 7

ETA: I'm glad i took a screenprint yesterday when I was in 1st place, because I am sure that will be my peak - lol

Team BnB DFL. Is it because my team stinks or are they hanging in the back of the pack drafting?

Dang dudes…more interest in girls soccer than the greatest sporting event on earth.
