Cliff is probably best to answer this, but anyone that watches the Raptors feel free to chime in. Why did it take so long to give Tucker meaningful minutes and sit Carroll out more?

Right.  That was my main point, people like to regurgitate dumb phrases like 'held serve' as if every home team ends the series up 2-0

Maybe it's closer than the historical numbers indicate, but the Celtics have a serious advantage here, much larger than 'holding serve' would indicate
The really funny thing here is the Celts just came back from 0-2 in the last series.

Rozier comes off the bench, plays 19 minutes at PG and ties the team lead in rebounds.   I would be cutting guys off the Celtics roster before they got to the locker room and wouldn't let them shower.  Pathetic and disgusting effort tonight.

Washington held serve, pretty much only did what was expected of them

nice to finally have a series though!

Yeah, you should definitely cut most of the team.

They could use someone like Wilt Chamberlain in his prime to help out on the boards

Who loses a game first, the Warriors or Cavs?
Which game 3 is first?  ECF or WCF?  Unless Boston takes down the Wiz....I think the Cavs sweep Boston and lose 1 or 2 to the Wiz.

Warriors will throw a game to rest also, figured that would have been game 4 against the Jazz. actually that makes no sense, they tank their games mid series, not close out games, usually in the Finals.

yeah, for all of the complaining about tanking, the NBA has a bit of an issue at the top. I'm not sure of the ratings of the playoffs, but it seems like a given that you get Cavs-Warriors. I am not sure what the NBA can do about it either, but I also don't remember it being this bad in the past.

Not really much you can do when the Warriors drafted 3 out 4 stars and needed the stars to perfectly align to nab Durant. The Warriors built through the draft without Top 3 draft picks, but they don't get credit like the Thunder did.

Also nothing you can do about the Cavs when the best player on Earth decides to go there.

Yup. The NBA had protections in place to prevent a team like the Warriors from forming. It took four years of incredible drafts, plus two of their three homegrown guys signing extensions before their value skyrocketed, plus a once in a lifetime jump in the cap creating room for Durant. #### happens. And obviously you can't do anything about someone building a composite of Jordan, Magic Johnson and Karl Malone in a lab and unleashing it on an unsuspected world.

The NBA has no choice but to ride it out for 2-3 more seasons, maybe hope some other superteams form. There's certainly a couple possibilities. Spurs + Chris Paul and Celtics + Paul George or Jimmy Butler are two obvious possibilities.

Removing the max salary would instantly kill super teams, but I doubt any of the stakeholders actually want to kill super teams.

I would like to add the Sixers to your last sentence please. Lowry comes back to where he grew up, and the Sixers draft Fultz and Isaac in this draft. Not next year, but the team is set to be there for that 2 season window

Good point on the max salary, that would definitely fix it immediately.

I'm sure the Finals will pull great ratings assuming its Warriors-Cavs, but I'd be curious to see how they're doing with playoff ratings overall.  I bet they're down, with all the series involving those two teams being foregone conclusions and all the other series seeming mostly irrelevant.

I, for one, hope the Sixers sign Lowry to a max deal :hifive:

yeah lot of concern here that Colangelo will want to make a big signing and splash and do that. Will hold back the team a little because Lowry isn't a young up and comer anymore. He would help the team, but I wouldn't want to be weighed down by his contract for too long

The question for me would be whether Philly thinks Simmons can learn to shoot. It's going to be tough to play Simmons off the ball until that happens.

Lowry is going to get very bad, very quick IMO and would be a horrible fit for a Sixers team that is still years away from relevancy. The next two years may be okay, but the Sixers won't be competing for anything so that is kind of useless. The last two years will likely be awful which is when the Sixers might not be an embarrassment. Awful fit.

Cap....do you think the recent David Griffin rumors are legit and the Magic are going to offer him boatloads?  Not exactly sure what their front office situation is like at the current moment.

When I hear the Hawks and a couple other teams are also in the mix it makes me start to think Griff's camp is floating alot of hot garbage around in order to get some leverage on Gilbert.  Hard to believe he wasn't extended last offseason, so maybe he is going to test his worth.

Griffin creating leverage makes sense.  Would also make more sense for the Magic to go after a much less expensive, veteran GM to get Orlando going in the right direction.  John Hammond in Milwaukee could be a fit.

The Bucks have an unofficial GM in waiting on board with Justin Zanik and Hammond could leave (rightfully) feeling he has helped guide the Bucks from a horribly run franchise with a legitimate chance of leaving the area into one with a superstar and long-term championship aspirations.  There is also a realistic chance the Bucks newish ownership stakeholders will move on from him (and Kidd?) in the foreseeable future, so if an opportunity like Orlando is presented to Hammond I could see him making the jump.

Fantastic game 5 between the Rockets and Spurs.  San Antonio now playing (largly) without Kawhi Leonard due to an ankle tweak and Houston enters OT after playing only 7 players all of regulation.

great game I don't know what to write so I'm giving you waffles recipe: 2 eggs 2 cups all-purpose flour 1 3/4 cups milk 1/2 cup vegetable oil 1 tablespoon white sugar 4 teaspoons baking powder 1/4 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract Directions: Preheat waffle iron. Beat eggs in large bowl with hand beater until fluffy. Beat in flour, milk, vegetable oil, sugar, baking powder, salt and vanilla, just until smooth. Spray preheated waffle iron with non-stick cooking spray. Pour mix onto hot waffle iron. Cook until golden brown. Serve hot.
