i bet the over on that 27.5 when it opened. dropped to 25 before the sad news today, so hoping Embiid can be the monster he potentially can be this year.
Saric basically plays Simmons' position and I'm not convinced he is that much worse. I think a healthy and dominant Embiid is more important to the Sixers hitting their over.

a healthy, reliable Embiid is probably more key then Simmons for now. seems like every NBA team knows the Sixers have a logjam at center, but if Embiid is healthy and reliable the Sixers can outlast the rest of the teams until someone offers them a good deal.

i'm also hearing such mixed reviews of what Simmons has, i don't mind if he misses the first month or so and can come back 100% healthy

They do have somewhat similar skillsets, but i don't think that Saric's vision and passing is that close.  Saric can't be a PG (he says, having watched about 7 minutes of Saric play)

Sure, but Saric can make up some of that difference by virtue of being able to shoot/score a little.

Preseason games blacked out on my Sports Pak on DirecTv.  <_< Apparently they're also still negotiating to offer League Pass this year as well.  <_<

I'm in La the next week and there are some games.  Not excited about any of these.

Lakers nuggets twice

clippers jazz

clippers our Raptors. That one is tonight so might be a challenge. Tickets start at $4 on seat geek.

Abtthing im missing? Jazz might be interesting

Some reporter on the NBA network was just saying that Simmons suffered a "Jones" fracture of the little toe in the middle of his right foot and that he's probably out 12 weeks.

Man, that sucks. Sorry Philly.
For several reasons, a Jones fracture may not unite. The diaphyseal bone (zone II), where the fracture occurs, is an area of potentially poor blood supply, existing in a watershed area between two blood supplies. This may compromise healing. In addition, there are various tendons, including the peroneus brevis and fibularis tertius, and two small muscles attached to the bone. These may pull the fracture apart and prevent healing.

:(

Jazz and Raptors are both good teams that I would be happy to see. Obviously, I would hit up the Nuggets game, but the Lakers are going to suck and the Nuggets are going to be mediocre. Personally, I would go the the Clippers-Jazz game.

Larry Nance Jr. hit a 3 pointer! Ingram didn't hit any shots!

I learned last night that though he DNP, Metta World Peace is still on the Lakers' roster.

I'm thinking I'd take the under on 24.5 wins. They're keeping that draft pick baby!

Sparks going for the championship!!!

D'Angelo Russell looks pretty intriguing. He's already may have Dame Lillard's game, although without any of Lillard's intangibles. The rest of that roster outside Clarkson though... oof.

Will Randle ever learn to finish with his right-hand?  Would totally change his game.  He is still 21.  I like his motor.  He has time.

D-Lo?  Seems like he thinks he is better then he is at this point.  He doesn't seem like a killer like say Lillard.  D-Lo is skilled but I don't think he has the athleticism nor mindset to really be an impact player.

i get why guys think it looks dumb, but does it not look at least as dumb to have 60% of your free throws look like total abortions?
A while back I talked to a man who was an alternate for the 1952 Olympic team and played for barnstorming teams in the 1950s.  I asked him about underhanded free throws.  He started laughing and said if a player from his era tried to shoot a free throw like a field goal attempt, he would have gotten benched instantly.  Free throws were shot underhanded, and that was that.  Coaches justified it by saying free throws shot underhanded used arms and arms only - tired legs wouldn't affect the form.  He said one thing that bugged him about the movie "Hoosiers" was making a big deal over Ollie shooting free throws underhanded: every high school kid in Indiana in 1951-1952 shot them that way.

The dubs may have found another player in Patrick McCaw, who sunk a 3pointer in regulation to tie the game

against the Nuggets. He then hit another 3pointer at the end of the OT period to win the game.

I wanted the Bulls to tank, but this really isn't what I envisioned. Every move they've made this off-season that has been hellaciously awful. That's tough to do. I respect that. They should just waive Bobby Portis. Why not?

Yeah I think they were pretty deliberate in snagging him in the 2nd, he's not just another filler/bench guy in their view.

I'm kind of excited to watch GS games in garbage time this year.

That's pretty cool to see. Is he likely to get regular playing time this season?
Maybe.  The rockets should be quite competitive and the PF position is quite full with Anderson, Capella, and Harrell seeing time. If Donuts comes back he will have an even harder time getting more than a couple minutes every few games.  I know they are excited about his future though.

Yup. How the young guys develop is gonna be entertaining to watch. McGaw looks good already and there will be plenty of opportunity for Looney and Jones to prove themselves.

Who the #### is D-Lo?  Deangelo Russell?  Are we really doing this?

Orlando vs Chicago this year, they should play on the throwback court. No reason to have a 3 point line.

That would be awesome actually.
