Well that is utterly humiliating.

PG: Chris Paul ($5), Patrick Beverly ($0.50)I'm trying to figure this out... So far, I'm sure that Chris Paul and Danny Green are on the team and either Cousins or Davis.
nice summary. The only move that i really wanted to happen that we may be lucky it didn't, is i really wanted the Sixers to get Wiggins in that draft. F'n Cavs and their constant grabbing (and failing) with the #1 pick. Looking at it now, it would seem that Embiid may have been what the team really needed, but at that time i was certainly on team Wiggins.
this can't be stated enoughI do hope the league assigns a Collangelo to the Lakers when they start the tank later in the season. Got to uphold the integrity of the league... And keep them out of the bottom 3.
Mediocrity was absolutely certain before the process. 100% guaranteed.I think a lot of people are prematurely declaring mission accomplished on Mr. Trust the Process and his grand plan. The 76ers obviously have some great pieces and a bright future moving forward, but it's a lot harder to start trying to win championships than it is to intentionally lose and accumulate assets. I don't mean do damper the enthusiasm, but still a long and uncertain road ahead.
And if they make the playoffs this year I'll eat my hat.
They should. Even in an advisory capacity.Honestly, they should hire Hinkie back
basically a bright future with young talent and no future baggage (bad contracts or lost draft picks). Yes the Sixers are not reaching the same regular season goals, but watching this team in '17 you can see it has grown and matured well and honestly, if they avoid injuries there is no where to go but up.I also don't get the Cowboys reference, weren't they 14-2 or 13-3 this year?
and i'm guessing the main discrepancy is what people are seeing as "mission accompished". Like Big Steel said this team had 0 future and were stuck for a good 8-10 years with the contracts they had, lack of true talent, and no draft picks. The "mission accomplished" for most of us Sixers fans was the turnaround from a doomed franchise for a decade, to a young, up-and-coming team with a bright future.I think a lot of people are prematurely declaring mission accomplished on Mr. Trust the Process and his grand plan. Its all coming togetherRudy Gay tore his Achilles. Feel really bad for him and hope he recovers soon.

Why not?I'm like 74% sure I would not be able to bring myself to set foot in GS' new San Francisco arena.
He has to stay healthy for at least 3 years for the world to noticeWith Embiid on the court, 76ers have a 99.3 defensive rating... best rating in the league. That's crazy.
It would make me sad. I mean you'd have to naive to not think this was coming when Lacob and Guber bought the team, and I'm glad that they financed the thing privately, but it's still a tough pill to swallow. Why not?
Someone should. Like the Nets or something. What have they got to lose by Hinkie-ing the whole thing?Honestly, they should hire Hinkie back
I'm with you. I only go to 1-2 games a year now because of the price and it'll only go up in SF with fewer seats. I'll probably go to 1 game just to see the arena, but I doubt I'll make a point to go to a game. Coming from the East Bay and getting into SF will suck. Driving to the game will be a headache, so the best way will be getting on BART and yah that means getting home around midnight for weekday games.I'm like 74% sure I would not be able to bring myself to set foot in GS' new San Francisco arena.
Oh yeah. You're not getting from the final buzzer to BART in less than 20 min. The trains will be jammed, and are coming every 20 min at that point I think.I'm with you. Ugh. That atmosphere has already started to change. The crowds have been terrible this year. Hopefully, it will go back to Roaracle days once playoffs start.Oh yeah. Lacob's insistent that the atmosphere is going to be the same, I just can't see that being the case.
It's kinda funny that one of the whitest places in America these days is an NBA game in Oakland.Ugh. That atmosphere has already started to change. The crowds have been terrible this year. Hopefully, it will go back to Roaracle days once playoffs start.
Anyone who didn't see it coming while they have been holding on to "The City" moniker is pretty ignorant. They were always coming back.It would make me sad. That's why the dream scenario of playoff push, combined with getting a top 3 pick (via sac pick swap), and pushing the lakers pick to 4 needs to happen.Gotta give Howard Eskin credit....he's going down as the Captain of the "Hinkie sucks and didn't really do anything" ship. This week he chastized Hinkie's "analytics" for not being good enough to predict The Greek Freak and Porzingas.

Bummer for the Kings. I don't think they were going to make the playoffs, but they were definitely in contention. At worst, they could have traded Gay for something useful at the deadline. Now there is little hope of the playoffs and they are going to be stuck paying Gay $14 million next year to likely be a shell of his former self unless he hates the Kings even more than has been reported.Rudy Gay tore his Achilles. ESPN had this stat todayWith Embiid on the court, 76ers have a 99.3 defensive rating... best rating in the league. That's crazy.
On the season, the 76ers have outscored opponents by 68 points when Embiid is on the floor. He is the only 76ers player with a positive plus-minus. When Embiid scores more than 20 points in a game, the 76ers are 10-6 this season (they’re 4-20 when he scores 20 or fewer or does not play).
Another way to analyze what Embiid is doing for the 76ers: They have the scoring margin of a 56-win team with him on the floor this season. The 76ers have a scoring margin of an 11-win team with him off the floor.
Kind of sounds like the definition of MVP.ESPN had this stat today
The Kings were spiraling with him in there. I wonder if they will get the same post-Rudy bounce that most teams get after they trade him.Rudy Gay tore his Achilles. Feel really bad for him and hope he recovers soon.

I think he gets a deal >$14m (maybe not annually, but longer term) this summer. Don't think this ultimately changes his opt out decision.Bummer for the Kings. I guess for what its worth, Wes Matthews got a 4/70 deal after tearing his Achilles. I tend to think that Matthews was a little better player than Gay pre injuries and Matthews was two years younger, but I think it is a fair comparison. Prior to the injury, I bet Gay was looking at a contract is the 4/100 range, but he's probably looking at a contract similar to the one Matthews got now.I think he gets a deal >$14m (maybe not annually, but longer term) this summer. That's probably about right. Gay is/was a better offense generator and probably more explosive, but that probably cuts against him in this context because he had more to lose from the injury.
