Excellent Embiid profile in SI

Whole thing is worth a read, but I wanted to highlight his claim that he learned how to shoot by watching "regular white people.  They really out their elbow in and finish up top.  You can find videos of them online."
Interesting article so far. A couple paragraphs later there is a mention of him attempting to high five opponents after making a free throw, so I went and found it. So happy he is finally playing so we don't just have to read his incredible twitter feed and we get to see him do things like that.

I agree. However, he is still only 23 years old so the jury is still out on him. He has the size and he plays with poise, but some times he is a little too slow. He doesnt really have a specialty, he just does everything average. All i ever heard was how he fits the Spurs roster so well, which I can see, but I dont think he will be any more than a role player getting 10-20 minutes per game off the bench.

This.

Finally, get those JV teams off my screen.

Time for some Magic Basketball.

Probably winning between 70-72 games tbh

Outstanding.  Hadn't seen the video of that before.

There's a Vine somewhere of Embiid during a KU game where a dead ball rolls up to his feet, and instead of reaching down and grabbing it, he juggles it soccer-style with his feet and knees up to his hands.  It is so nonchalant and unaware.

Really rooting hard for him to succeed.  I've said many times watching him learn the game and improve so quickly at KU was like watching the Peace Corps scene from Airplane! come to life.

The biggest question for ORL is what uniforms will they wear on the road in the playoffs: just wear blue, just wear black, or should they bring both the blue and the black so they don't have to do laundry at the hotel?

It's a good question. Also, 4 rounds of playoffs on the road can be exhausting; they should be researching quality restaurants now.

first points of the year for the bangos from none other than the thunder from manilla matthew fn delavadova take that to the bank me mateyhans

That ball in the Sixers game will be in the Hall of Fame one day....Two future Hall of Famers got their first NBA points on it.

#THEPROCESSWORKS

Ask him how quickly he pissed his pants when Adams then stepped toward him...
Met Steven after a game @ OKC courtside club. Dude made me look like I was in Jr high.. (hard to do).

Hellva handshake too. Real nice dude and actually bs'd with me and my girl for a bit. One of my favorite players

wow, sixers fan in the front row gives westbrook an aggressive double-barrel salute.  I think I might know that guy.
This could be the new veteran's stadium for the city. There is a hell of a passion for this team, looking like the Phoenix as it rises from the ashes

Lakers fan growing up.  I got ya.

1.  Magic (and it's not even close)

2.  Byron Scott (non-coach version)

3.  Michael Cooper (defense!)

4.  James Worthy

5.  Kareem

6.  That's as far as I can go I was 8 and remember most of these guys from later seasons.
Jamaal Wilkes? Norm Nixon?  I forget.

Def hear & feel the energy from the tube on exciting plays. Really liked the Embid SI article TRE posted . Rooting for the kid ..

Can't wait to see the Simmons/Embid combo

Gotta love Philly fans.

Embiid at the line and we hear "MVP" and "Trust the Process" chants. Basketball is back in Philly! thank you Sam Hinkie.

Why does Drummond still shoot his free throws flat-footed??  Everyone else in the world rises up when they shoot but he comes back every summer with his heels nailed to the floor.

Not only that....WIP (the local sports radio), almost to a commentator,  has gone out of its way to denounce and marginalize ANY success that Hinkie might get from this.
yeah but those shills will always sound dopey. Only thing that really matters is Embiid wanting the nickname of "trust the process" and the crowd chanting "trust the process". Honestly, if i am Hinkie that is all that matters to me.

and guarantee the horrendous sports media in the city will be licking Embiid's nuts tomorrow and saying how they always knew the Sixers did it the right way and are ready for a championship. then next week they will say they screwed everything up and are terrible when they lose 2 in a row. Rinse, and repeat

Embid calling for the rock down the stretch.. shows a look jab, repeats then knocks it down.

Love the confidence. Ugh I'm getting on the wagon as I watch.  Dude could be really good. And great for that city an league
