Yup, I put Green at 4. I think people sleep on Klay Thompson. He's an elite defender and he might be the best catch and shoot guy in the league. Not that it means much, but most of those "NBA player rankings" put Thompson ahead of Green in the preseason, and that was before Green had his worst shooting season since his second year. Obviously Green is remarkable on the defensive end, but Thompson isn't that far behind him there.BassNBrew said:Thanks, that's what I thought. Tobias had Green at 4 so I was wondering how had them ranked. I'm going to dig into this more later after he replies, but I still think it's closer than you guys suggest.
It really doesn't matter, though. They're fairly close, and I think most people would prefer both players over Irving, who is probably a slightly better player than Thompson on the offensive end and a far better player than Green, but he's one of the worst defenders at his position in the league. You can't say that about Thompson or Green- both are well above average for their position at both ends. But it's also a question of fit. If your roster doesn't have any other players who can create their own shot you'd obviously rather have Irving and live with the defense. If you do have other options I think you'd rather have one of the other guys.
