Thanks, that's what I thought.  Tobias had Green at 4 so I was wondering how had them ranked.  I'm going to dig into this more later after he replies, but I still think it's closer than you guys suggest.
Yup, I put Green at 4. I think people sleep on Klay Thompson. He's an elite defender and he might be the best catch and shoot guy in the league.  Not that it means much, but most of those "NBA player rankings" put Thompson ahead of Green in the preseason, and that was before Green had his worst shooting season since his second year. Obviously Green is remarkable on the defensive end, but Thompson isn't that far behind him there.

It really doesn't matter, though. They're fairly close, and I think most people would prefer both players over Irving, who is probably a slightly better player than Thompson on the offensive end and a far better player than Green, but he's one of the worst defenders at his position in the league. You can't say that about Thompson or Green- both are well above average for their position at both ends.  But it's also a question of fit.  If your roster doesn't have any other players who can create their own shot you'd obviously rather have Irving and live with the defense. If you do have other options I think you'd rather have one of the other guys.

You may be 100% correct but it sure doesn't feel that way  when it comes to my Bullets.
Home team is 10-1 in Wiz playoff games this year, but it hasn't been that way in recent years.  Off the top of my head I think the home team was something like 7-14 in their four playoff series in 2014 and 2015.

Might be. But that probably has something to do with Cleveland and Golden State being a combined 8-0 on the road so far.
of course it does but you don't throw that out and even if you did there were 5 road wins in the Boston-Chicago series alone. I believe the Boston-Bullets series is the only one where the home team has won each game.

Anyway I like that home court matters so much in the playoffs. It makes the regular season more important.  Contrast it with that other stupid winter sport that has a 16 team postseason preceded by a meaningless six month regular reason.  That sport is silly and random and I hate it and they should disband the league and I'm totally not bitter this morning at all.

Oh I agree. I'm just saying, that Cleveland and GS have definitely played a factor in the home/road splits.

26 out of 28 1st or 2nd round exits?  I feel your pain.  Best of luck next year.

Sleepy Floyd will wipe his eye boogers on you.
Doubt this comes up often in your neck of the woods, but just in case... Sleepy Floyd is still Georgetown's all-time leading scorer.  Iverson is the PPG leader there by a mile but Floyd made it up in volume.  Lot of folks would guess Ewing, Mourning, or maybe Reggie Williams before Sleepy. Since Floyd was at the front end of Georgetown's run as a national power, its forgotten how dominant he was.

So the NBA plays back to back games all season long then the playoffs come and it's like zzz.   I think they are losing viewers spreading it out so much.  The Wizards/Boston series might finish in July.   CLE has played an average of once every 4 days.  zzz.

Just start the finals now.

I did some research on this.  The playoffs tend of have less teams playing, and therefore less games.

Sleepy was my favorite Warrior growing up but I know nothing of his college career, thanks for sharing that.

He also still holds NBA playoff records for points in a quarter (29) and in a half (38). Of course they still lost every other game of that series (to the eventual '87 champion Lakers).

It's clear Pop is the greatest NBA coach ever. I'm not sure there's a challenge in any other sport either.

Or maybe, it's just in the midst of all this jerking off over jacking up 3's hoopla, we forgot that Pop has been working this D'Antoni #### for over a decade. Unless you have 4 of the 10 best players in basketball, or LeBron, you just need Pop.

I'm averse to hyperbole, BUT, as a mere fan I would head-butt brick walls if Pop asked me to.

I agree he is the greatest coach ever in the NBA, but he has company in other sports. Let's not act like he never had players either.

With that said I think these last 2 years were his best coaching job.

So Van Gundy was suggesting an ejection for a guy flopping, then walked it back, then walked back the original walkback.

As a Spurs fan, I wallowed in a grief-pit when Rodman checked out and left The Admiral in a tight spot vs Hakeem circa 94-95. As much as I love and respect Olajuwan (and as much as I came to love Mario Elie), I still remember usenet and how much I despised Rocket fans.

Nothing makes me happier than to witness Houston shed its "Heart of a Champion" label. Spurs +39 vs Rockets on Houston's home court in game 6!

Thanks Pop Harden!

Warriors are heavily favored vs Spurs, and rightfully so, but I'll be wearing the #### out of my lucky Kawhi t-shirt next week.

Wishing good health for both teams.

Can anyone remember more of a pathetic no-show in an otherwise competitive series than Harden tonight? I'd be super pissed if I was a Rockets fan.
