2016-17 NBA Thread: Finals are over, please go away (3 Viewers)

Durant 22, Curry 6, Klay 6.

GS would have had a really tough time beating the Cavs if both teams had the same rosters as they did last year.

Everything had to fall right for GS to get Durant.  Durant had to be a FA last year. The salary cap had to go up in a huge way.  The smooth cap proposal had to be shot down.

As a Cavs fan pretty frustrating that they were able to sign one of the top 3 players in the NBA coming off a 73 win season.  This is supposed to be our time and it just feels like GS used a cheat code to get Durant when they should not have been able to.

Now the Cavs only way to compete is to somehow get a star player to come for minimal amount which isn't going to happen or make some strange trade to acquire a star player while not giving up anyone from their core which is not likely.

Only way Cavs would have a chance to win a series vs GS is if they got Paul George and gave up none of their starters.  Not going to happen.
Lol, Cleveland's time.

#2 behind Jordan, clearly ahead of everyone else. But Irving will have to continue playing great for them to win the next 3.
And JR Smith has to shoot well and he's been terrible inconsistent his whole career. He can look great for a weak then look like the worst shooter in the NBA for the next 2 or have 1 terrible half where he doesn't belong on the court and 2nd half look like the best shooter ever.

This is like the Loyola - Michigan game I went to in the early 80's.   Loyola scored 33 points in 4 minutes.
One of funnest teams ever to watch.  You always have to wonder if they could have gone farther with Hank Gathers or did his death inspire them all the way to the Elite 8.  I remember when I used to play basketball back then we would go the the courts and say "Today we are going to play Loyola Marymount style".

Good times.

Queue up DJackson. He may write 5 essays about it in here.
Is your daily life that pathetic you have to come on here and complain all the day and feel the need to defend LeBron and you buddies. Grab a plush LeBron your Cavs Blanket and curly up and enjoy the game. it's getting pathetic at this point.

I remember calling the local foot locker st the mall asking if they had Loyola Marymount clothes. I live in Florida. Pretty funny in hindsight.

Maybe you should put him on ignore. He seems to fire you up to easy.
It really is too easy to go after him and I don't even try to rile him up. I mean seriously someone needs some thicker skin. If anything maybe he should just put us all on ignore if we rile him up this easy. One guy at another board I go to I have to put him on ignore during football season because the minute the game starts one bad play by the Eagles Chicken Little the Sky is falling routine happens.

Yeah, the Cavs were awesome in the first half. Got a tip your cap to them.
I don't know that I've ever seen a more impressive offensive performance for a half. The Warriors are lucky to only be down by 20 or whatever.

Curry has been garbage and Klay not much better. They're just all disjointed.

Idk. I don't consider myself any sort of basketball aficionado so I don't really have an opinion on it. I'm curious to see what the experts think.
It's very simple. He wins this series, he's the GOAT, and I'm not sure it's even debatable. Jordan could've never even conceived of a team like this Warriors team much less have to beat them.

Now, he of course won't win this series, and probably won't win this game, so it's a moot point.

The bigger question is can LeBron be the GOAT after getting swept in the Finals in his prime. I think he probably is, and probably will, but most aren't going to agree with that.

Should start the second half with Green at center but Kerr is loathe to change his regular season rotations. One of his flaws in my eyes.

Curry and Klay were bad, but I don't think they are disjointed. They scored 68 points. If not an all time great 1st half by the Cavs this game is even.

Not that I agree with you but curious why you say he is despite that?

Everytime Irving misses the Cavs get the board and hit a big shot. That is what is stopping the Warriors from making a run.
