***2016 MLB Playoff thread: Cubs win for first time since sliced bread hit market (1 Viewer)

It's stupid. There are expectations that 20-40% of seats won't be filled until the later innings.

You can stubhub tickets for half face.  A playoff game.

I'm a fan and probably won't even catch an inning on TV in real time until game 3. Nice schedule you got there MLB.
Scheduling at a time when the shadows can become a significant factor is dumb too.

what kind of weak ### effort was that on the catch in center? Not Willie Mays out there that is for sure

Desmond - in case you didn't know it - it's the playoffs

It would be cool if Hamels jumped him in the dugout

Tough to tell if maybe he lost it but looked a little wussyish at the end. Bad play either way since he had a beat on it and pulled up

Kluber two more times?  I was reading he's only been throwing 30 pitch bullpen sessions so I guess he could start twice, but they may need to be shorter outings.
With our bullpen that may be possible. :coffee:

I love that the rangers are tossing this stadium in the trash a few years from now.
Yeah it's one of my favorite parks. But I've been to July and August games there, it's not fun.
Plus it's a brutal drive into the sun from the Dallas side of town to get there.

Also I was working in Plano for a while and you really couldn't get there fast - or down into Dallas for a Stars game with the traffic.

Aren't they talking Fort Worth for the new site? FW is my favorite Texas city.

Bermans 100th comment on the "90 degree heat" ... :lmao:

This is welcomed "fall" type temperature for Texans esp with the breeze.

and with that jose bautista (or, as the rangers know him, dad) home run, the rangers move to a negative run differential on the year

I'm just hoping this ### whooping is a good omen for the Cubs. Statistically, it seems far fetched that two Wild Cards would make the LCS.

In an exhibition game, Condredge Holloway hits Jan Carinci on a 40 yard post for a TD as he blows by Everson Walls to take a commanding 10-0 lead in the 4th.

Arlington already proposed new deal since they're still under contract.  Believe  Nov 8th when vote takes place for 500 million in tax payer money towards new retractable roof stadium
They are using Dallas as the bogeyman in the situation - that if we don't pass this Dallas may swoop in and take them. Also I hear its a whole new stadium and complex next to the current one and then convert this one into some convention center.

I've heard this also back in may/April listening to JJT.. Calishaw and Mosley.  Died down once NFL started after initial Arlington  city council president passed it to a vote from the get go so they could have leverage over Dallas.

Not sure whats going on now but it is a "b" word to drive from uptown or Allen McKinney etc to Arlington after work for a 7pm start but not many options for Dallas.

I would prefer they built it in Frisco but won't happen.

I also heard they wouldn't tear down old stadium like you said which really isn't that old. Still remember as young kid going but I get it.  Roof means more $$$ in on alot of peoples minds bc of the heat.

Crazy random stat. Believe read Arlington is the largest city in America without a  mass city/public transportation

That was a grooved pitch to Ramirez - great play at the plate - overturned. Of course everyone in Boston says the fix is in and they are just picking on the Boston team

If I thought this place was filled with stupid people who didn't know what they were talking about it would be pretty moronic to keep on posting here.
The information I get is great.  Very easy to figure out who to follow and who to fade.
