***2016 MLB Playoff thread: Cubs win for first time since sliced bread hit market (1 Viewer)

Let's hand MORE innings to David Price in the postseason.  :lmao:

In 9 postseason starts, Price has a 5.74 ERA. If the Sox lose this game, he’ll be 0-8 in those games and his teams 0-9.
At what point does the  "small sample size" crowd admit that Price just may suck in October?

Putting these games on the MLB network and having no way to stream them is a slap in the face to anyone under retirement age. Whoever replaced Bud Selig is making me steal tomorrow. He should be thrown in jail.

The Pillar HR today was the 3rd highest pitch hit out of the park this year.  Damn thing was shoulder high, no idea how he got around on that.

How was the chardonnay in the Cillizza seats? Sucks that they lost.

I don't really have a dog in the fight besides rooting for Dusty (and hating the Dodgers, but I'd rather eliminate them in the next round).
We were on 3rd base side, good seats but not Diamond Club.  I think Adrian Gonzalez's wife was up there with us pounding Bud Lights while their kids were playing on their ipods.  Nats have to win tomorrow, but I think these teams are pretty evenly matched.  Doyers bullpen has been great all year and was the difference tonight,  I think all of us thought after Kershaw left the Nats would pul it out.

What leads you to believe this?
I'm seeing them at -150 for Game 3, so that one sort of explains itself

im not looking much beyond that though. Win that one, worry about the rest of the series then

game 3 feels like one the offense will win. It helps that the Tribe starter blows

When your big 4 have gone 3 for 27 in two games you might want to focus on the hitting first. Just a thought.  :D
Whole lot of blame to go around no doubt but I have less concern about the bats coming around than I do on Porcello and Price.  Could all be mute, if they don't turn things around on Sunday they could easily be golfing on Monday.  Buchholtz is definitely capable of blowing up even if the bats come alive (which I suspect they will).

Sox have been a streaky team all year, looks like they peaked too soon.

Brutal. These Giants are taking years off my life but another great nailbiter.

I wonder who starts tomorrow. Cain was better than Smerj down the stretch. I wouldn't be shocked to see Bummy even. Well, maybe I would.
Didn't they say last night they haven't won a game in the 9th all year?  You basically know the outcome, relax.

Hendricks got popped back up the box. Yoah. Night over. Maddon mix and match from here on out. Good thing Lester went eight last night.

Annoying how?
Everything. The Red Sox Central feel of it. The baseball coverage about their agonized fans. The Maddon/manager/GM aspect. Lester's big ###. There's just a vibe of being really annoying and soccer-momish, though it's a hard thing to explain.

Mainly, the human interest coverage of the Cubs and their fans, much like the Red Sox, is going to be really annoying to those of us that want to watch baseball.

eta* And I love the Sox, but now I see immediately why people hated them.

Yeah, I can see that.

I flipped over to the game from the debate. This is so much better. I don't know what the hell I was thinking.
