***2016 MLB Playoff thread: Cubs win for first time since sliced bread hit market

I will never be combative nor abrasive to a poster who doesn't deserve it.  I would absolutely never talk to you the way I respond to some of these other posters.
Well I do appreciate that.  And I do recognize the points you're making in here and don't necessarily disagree, but I do think you could make your points in a much less abrasive manner.  That's all.

Texas was a ####ty ### team
Great call on that atrocious Rangers bullpen getting exposed in the playoffs

Only weak link proved to be LHP Diekman being fed to the Jays 2-3-4 in the 9th inning of a what was already a blowout, giving up 3 runs

Otherwise, they didn't give up an earned run over 16.1 innings.

They should move all of you morons back to the baseball forum, and then delete the ####ing baseball forum.
I love the idea of this thread for us casual fans, but  :lmao:  the delivery of this.

Then again, all our best posters are in the baseball and hockey threads.  :sadbanana:

Yeah, the thing is the reason I've gone out of my way to show how ridiculous his claims are is that our first interaction in here came like this. Before this post I had no idea who he was, but presumably I deserve to be combative or abrasive towards because I cheered for the Jays against the Royals last season.

:lmao:   Osuna is a big piece in a five game series.  Where did I say that was the only reason?

I'm not surprised Northern Voice liked your post.  He doesn't know wtf he is talking about either.  I learned that last year when I told the Jays fans their team was trash.

lol beating the Rangers wasn't really an impressive accomplishment
Even if you believe the Rangers are the weakest playoff team in the history of baseball, a sweep is still fairly impressive.  Are you in here just to troll Blue Jays fans?

One more thing that makes no difference now and I get the reasoning but still, come on...

If Texas had won tonight, TOR/TEX game 4 was 1 PM tomorrow = day game after night game, with CLE/BOS 630?, I think, despite them not playing today.

I understand completely why the game with Toronto will always be lowest priority for US TV - ratings will make that the decision the right one, even with a series that had the intrigue of TEX/TOR.

Shouldn't they factor in the competitive balance between series though? Neither Toronto or Texas would be at a disadvantage to each other, but catchers, bullpens etc... would have been impacted by a 1 PM start tomorrow... Of course both teams have to deal with it but it was completely unnecessary in this instance.
If Boston wins tonight, game 4 with Cleveland starts at 2 PM. Point?

You pinch hit a rookie for the guy you're batting cleanup in the 8th, and if you don't Puig catches that ball in the 9th. Nice call, Roberts.

Yeah they used up their whole bullpen today.  You think they bring Kershaw back tomorrow on short rest or run with Urias?
Hard to say. I think they use Kershaw tomorrow for sure if Rich Hill could go Thursday, but that's not likely. I'm gonna guess they stick with Urias given Kershaw probably not being 100 percent healthy.

Put a curly W in the books!

Nats fans were worried after game 1 but they fought back in that game and these teams are evenly matched. Finish them tomorrow!

Greetings,

Just wanted to let y'all know I'm handling tjnc09's schedule going forward.  Any of you who want a piece of him should read the following from the man himself:

----------------

Here's your chance to step up and prove your skills.

Let me know where you live and when I am in your city (I travel often) I will humiliate you in the sporting contest(s) of your choice and then I will take your woman (if she is hot) out for a gourmet meal....I am not responsible for any advances she might (will) make during dinner.

Rules are as follows -

1. Hoops. Costs $20 up front to play me (Game = 21 by 1's and 2's) You beat me (you won't) I pay $100 cash on the spot. When I beat you, I keep your $20.

Keep in mind that I have a lethal x-over and a 33" vert. You *will* get dunked on. Repeatedly.

2. Baseball. I fan you on 5 pitches or less. Cost: $20 up front, pay out is the same as basketball with the following caveats:

a. Solid contact pays $300 cash, on the spot.
b. Going yard pays $3,000 cash, on the spot.

Keep in mind, that I have filthy, nasty stuff. Exploding slider, wicked splitty, heavy fastball, good change.

3. Baseball Part II. You pitch to me, cost is $30 up front. If I don't
hit everything you throw (If you can get anything near the plate) on the screws, I pay you $2000.00 in cash.

4. Football. Punt, pass, kick. Cost is $50 up front. Out distance me
and I'll pay you $4,500
Here are my current averages:

Pass: 63 yds
Punt: 52 yds
Kick: 61 yds

Total: 176 yds!

4. Swim. 50M freestyle. $25 up front. You beat me in best 2 out 3 and I pay you $500 on the spot.

5. Boxing or mixed martial arts. Trust me. Do *NOT* even think about going there.

------------

If you have the guts to take tjnc09 on, PM me (or shuke) and we will do our best to get you on his schedule.  Put up or shut up, #######s.

No hockey? Figures ... weakling.

David Ortiz coming up for maybe his last MLB at bat. If history is a good predictor, he at least doubles in a run here.
