What I remember about his Cubs tenure is that he would probably be too drunk at this stage of the game to even stand upright.which pen should Dave Kingman go warm up in?

Schmidt had a few good years but Woody is a Giants legend. The team still makes an annual visit to Rueter's spread when they visit St. Louis.Eephus: is that true what Rosenthal said about Kirk Reuter being legendary amongst the fans? I would have thought Jason Schmidt would have been the guy during that era.

I'm not sure Mick Kelleher, at 1,200 career PA and exactly zero career home runs, ever could be considered to have "swung some lumber."Mick Kelleher swinging some lumber and Randy Martz getting warmed up

I wouldn't want you any other way, DD.If they play the Indians, I'm doing some Cubs face paint and maybe a tattoo if they win.
And Dave Dravecky warming up in the pen with his one arm.Giants running out of position players. I think I see Mike Ivie and Johnnie LeMaster looking for a bat.

Great scenario here for the Nats. They get Kershaw on short rest and he didn't really look that great in Game 1. Even if the Nats lose, they get Scherzer going at home in Game 5 against either Hill on short rest or a rookie. Definitely the favorite now.Kershaw/Ross in Game 4 in LA today, as expected.
Jinxing myself I'm sure, but as a Nats fan I like this. The Kershaw I saw on Friday night was not the same guy who has been able to bounce back in short rest in the postseason in the past. And Scherzer at home vs what is now guaranteed to be an inferior starter in Game 5 is a nice safety valve. Nats would have probably been slight underdogs in a potential ace rematch in Game 5, they'll be favored now.
-260/+240 line surprised me a bit, I would have expected something closer to -210/+170. Books seem to think we'll get normal Kershaw, not the guy who struggled three days ago when he cracked 100 pitches for the first time since June. They know better than me, of course, so if that's what they say is most likely then I assume that is what's most likely. May also be a function of the Nats planning to go with two right-handers and probably not having their best lefty available against the Dodgers' lopsided roster.Great scenario here for the Nats. maybe its because the don't play again until Spring 2017?I can't find the Boston game, wtf?

I agree. I'd say it looks good for the Nats.Pretty lucky to get out of that with only the one run. He really needs to string together some 9-10 pitch innings now.Throwing a ton of pitches
His stuff doesn't have that bite to it. But if anyone can pull it together on short rest Kershaw can.Pretty lucky to get out of that with only the one run. He really needs to string together some 9-10 pitch innings now.
He smoked that. I thought he might get the gap but they were shading him. It's fun to watch Murphy hit. Thanks Mets!
It did look like a circuitous route to the ball. I thought it should have been caught by somebody.WTF was Werth thinking on the J turner single? He yielded to Trea who was going to have a 0 percent chance to get there. IMO Werth could have had that relatively easily. What a bonehead that guy is.
They did roar with that last curveA Kershaw curve, thrown in the post season, might be the most exciting pitch in baseball.
The crowd noise was right in sync with the motion of the thing. Fun to watch.
