Sure, there were small differences, but I think the shots were pretty similar. The moments were pretty similar. I was too young to remember the Jordan shot so I came to you guys.Standard fare? Eh...High pressure moment of a big game, moving to the left, shooting with the right over a defender with a hand in your face...a little more than standard fare IMO.
As game winning shots in the playoffs go, this from Lebron last week was more similar to MJs. Going left, shooting right, hand in his face. Lebron's was a three so again a more impressive shot, but similar. That runner last night was just absurd, imo. But Galileo is right about the moment, no doubt. Lebron's didn't end a series by sleighing a nemesis as an underdog.Sure, there were small differences, but I think the shots were pretty similar. The moments were pretty similar. I was too young to remember the Jordan shot so I came to you guys.
It's actually easier to shoot moving to your weak hand at this time anyway with the movement to a skewed shooting stance.Standard fare? Eh...High pressure moment of a big game, moving to the left, shooting with the right over a defender with a hand in your face...a little more than standard fare IMO.
That's what I'm saying. The Warriors phoned it in last game after the Pelicans shot 60% from 3 in the first half. Plus, being such an early game on a Sunday definitely has neutered the crowd. Like I said before, they gave up Game 3 and decided, "fine, let's just win the series at home".Oh. So these are the Warriors.
Duncd On said that brown said in the presser that it was supposed to be a 3. Though they also noted that it would have been quite difficult to get behind the 3 in that spot coming at the angle, which is probably true. Why wouldn't you draw it up for him to shoot a three? The design was fine - I'm just saying the long two is the worst shot in basketball.
We have a lot to learn, but a hung over late starting post Jazz Fest crowd seems to have recovered. That's what I'm saying. Yeah the Pelicans are actually playing awesome basketball IMO but are seemingly helpless against the GSW all star team. It's going to be epically sad watching LeBron trying to carry Cavs in the finals vs. GS or Hou.
The Pelicans remind me somewhat of the Kareem Laker years prior to Magic Johnson. They had some really good teams, played some really good basketball, but they'd always end up getting over matched against the Sonics or Blazers. Kareem would be balling out, Nixon, Wilkes and sometimes Dantley would chime in, but they just didn't have enough beyond that. Watching Davis, Holliday and Rondo this year reminds me of that somewhat.Yeah the Pelicans are actually playing awesome basketball IMO but are seemingly helpless against the GSW all star team.
You won't. It's just the nature of officiating in the sport. As subjective as any sport out there. That said, I'd rather have it this way than trying to clarify it and adding in a 57-step process for continuation a la the NFL catch rule.I am not sure I will ever understand what is continuation in the NBA. Sometimes you will see a player try to give a foul to stop a guy from finishing a break at the top of the key, he will take 2 more steps after that and the ref will give him the and 1 or foul shots. Other times you will see guys try to time the foul a team has to give and jump up and shoot a long 3 and even if he is almost in the air they call it on the floor. I really thought that Rondo foul on Iggy should have been a shooting foul.
Ribbing warrior fans aside, I was very impressed with the Pels in Oracle and suggested they were the 3rd best team still playing. This outcome didn't surprise me at all, and I don't think your Dubs threw up a white flag as early as Stu said. They just got worked by this strangely emerging team. Pels are no joke especially at home. I won't be surprised if this goes 2-2 and possibly 7. The Pels are playing outstanding.
I sit here in anticipation for your update to this amazing series analysis.I hope this is the start of something big for the Pelicans. I am worried though, I think bringing back Cousins would be a mistake, Jrue and Davis were pretty healthy this year, and Rondo played nice, which hasn't happened a lot. Hopefully they continue that trend and have a good draft.Well it was a run. A one game run.
I've said many things about the Warriors in a road game 3 up 2-0, but when Kerr starts McGee for absolutely no good reason it makes meKerr is starting the Hamptons 5 lineup for the first time ever. A game late but better late than never.
Kerr's line up choices also consider getting guys engaged and keeping morale just as much as strategy.I've said many things about the Warriors in a road game 3 up 2-0, but when Kerr starts McGee for absolutely no good reason it makes me![]()
Houston-Golden State should be an amazing series. I'd enjoy it more as a fan without a rooting interest. It's going to be epically sad watching LeBron trying to carry Cavs in the finals vs. GS or Hou.
He talked about anticipating a lot of early fouls, but McGee is the worst fouler on the roster (especially considering Looney did an admirable job on Davis in the first two games). Kerr is smart enough to know he's punting 10-15 early points with that lineup choice.Kerr's line up choices also consider getting guys engaged and keeping morale just as much as strategy.
Most of the other guys only play 10 minutes or so.
Considering how hot/cold Harden can be, I think they might have a chance against Houston. But Houston won't be going to the finals so it's irrelevant. It's going to be epically sad watching LeBron trying to carry Cavs in the finals vs. GS or Hou.
Better than anyone else in the Western Conference had last year.Well it was a run. A one game run.
23-3 w/ Durant. The other two losses happened when they were already up 3-0.Better than anyone else in the Western Conference had last year.
Both guys were past their prime then. This is like Lebron in his prime jumping ship or KD running to GS here. These guys are in their primes that did that. The two above were well past. I'm talking about the minute Lebron went to Mia and started the whole "Oh everyone wants to play with their friends" instead of I'd rather face my friends and beat them. How far back are we talking? Like when the Rockets got Drexler? Bulls got Rodman?
Kevin Durant is the best overall player in the league when it comes to scoring. He can shoot a jumper consistently, post up, dunk, lay up, create his own shot, shoot from three, mid range, fade etc. Lebron might be the best overall player but scoring wise KD is the best overall at that.Last year remember when Cavs lost to GS in the finals everyone said Durant took the torch as the best player in the NBA. Now everyone keeps saying LeBron is the best player ? Why they saying this ? Stephen A Smith #### your the same guy who is saying LeBron is the best player on the planet today but if/when Cavs lose to GS again in the finals you will be saying how Durant is the best player in the NBA because GS has 4 all stars and the Cavs have 1 LeBron.
I'll bite. He micromanages everything. He's a whiny ##### who acts like if a foul isn't called on an opposing player the ref committed sac religious. He ran out of Cleveland because he couldn't win to team up with other players (This would be similar to MJ leaving the Bulls because he couldn't beat Det). Left Mia after telling Bosh/Wade he stay and Wade had already signed. Only went back to Cleveland because he knew Wade and Bosh were past their primes. Kyrie Irving won him his title in Cleveland. Tried to get SPoelstra fired barely a month into the season with Mia. The disrespect he showed to Blatt and the ring leader to a whole roster being disrespectful to him. If he leaves Cleveland and goes else where this year it's safe to call him a hired Gun or Mercenary that goes to the highest bidder. It shows very little loyalty. I guess I'm old school and hate how the NBA along with other sports are so ####ified now.How can you not love Lebron James? That was amazing.
Theres a couple of guys there that never reached the potential they could've had. Green was better when he left for SA, Varejao was always injured, Wagner was suppose to be good but I think he got hit with the injury bug. Telfair was maybe an overhyped prospect. Jaminson and ShaQ past their primes. This isn't to say a bad roster but they had a lot of guys on there that never reached their hype or potential.Larry Hughes was with the Cavs for the 2005-06 and 2006-07 seasons. He played part of the 2007-08 season in CLE.

How about just use the ignore button? If you have a problem with me say it in a post or PM. Don't be a little ##### about it and talk about me to others. Got something to say about me post it too me?How about we start by not quoting him. JFC
It's not their fault. I mean the Sixers fans here I respect since they've been fans since day 1 but 75% of that arena yesterday didn't give a dam about the team till last year. Probably don't even know who Hollis Thompson or KJ McDaniels was. One of the things I will say not being a Sixers fan is teaming up with the Sixers fans to call out the fakes in our friends or others who didn't give a dam about the team till now. The bandwagon jumpers is one of the things that sucks about sports and the Sixers might have a lot more then typical for what I like to call the Lebron effect with Ben Simmons. No different then all the people who became Mia fans when Lebrun went and then Cavs fans when he went back. Those same people who only root for Lebrown he goes to Lakers, Sixers etc will become fans of that team next. It's one of the other reasons I hate todays NBA. Zero fan loyalty amongst the younger crowd.I never got the lumping an entire teams fans into the same category because of a few knuckleheads. A philly fan should understand.
I think Short Corner will want to see this. How about just use the ignore button? If you have a problem with me say it in a post or PM. Don't be a little ##### about it and talk about me to others. Got something to say about me post it too me?
Hey if he's joking I apologize as it's hard to see sarcasm but as a person who has treated everyone since I got here with respect I at least expect that. If you got a problem with me just tell me. Don't go posting to others about me. Its like having a co worker who has a problem with you. He tells everyone else but won't tell you directly. If my post bother him that much he can easily just ignore me with a small feature the board provides.I think Short Corner will want to see this.
I have favorite players in the league still plus I'm gonna be loyal to my Team (Chicago). I don't want to simple come back eventually and my team happens to be great and called a bandwagon jumper. For anyone who knows me I'd be viewed as big of a hypocrite as most politicians. Also I shouldn't have to not have an opinion here all because others have a different one and don't like mine. Its no different then a friend of mine who gave the "I'm your friend I'd rather you hear it from me" basically without blatantly saying it don't post political stuff simple because I really don't agree with your opinion. I'll give him props for being nice about it but wish he would've been more of a man and flat-out said what he wanted then a cryptic message and the whole I'm doing this and telling you because we're friends.Djackson you should quit watching the NBA. Uou obviously miss the good ole days and this just makes you upset. Maybe try a hobby thwtg hasn't changed in over 100 years. Knitting, bird watching, scrap booking.
How about just use the ignore button?
It's pretty simple. Don't like someones post don't keep #####ing about it. Just ignore them. If you have a problem and would like to work it out post it to said person. It's called courtesy and respect. Or simple don't say anything and put them on ignore. I had a poster on my old board who I put on ignore and he had me but would find out from others he'd still talk #### about me. It just made him look like a complete ##### especially after he was called out by a few posters bullying do to the fact we had difference of opinion and lumped me as a hater etc. I was giving an unbiased outside opinion on a trade and the guy flipped out on me like I told him I slept with his wife and knocked her up![]()
I'm out. I'm sure you mean well, but cmon man.
Man, IBird and Birdsnap apps have radically changed birding. The old school field guides are useless. An education in the subject matter has been replaced by facial/feather recognition software. But sure, for his own benefit Djack should stop pissing in our pool if he hates it so much. It's rude.Djackson you should quit watching the NBA. I just looked up Jordan's contract. He signed a contract through 1991 when he was drafted. By then the Bulls had a championship roster around him and a championship level coach. I'm honestly not sure he could have signed with a better team around him if he tried. On the other side LeBron had terrible teams around him the whole time until he left for Miami. Not exactly the same situation. Not to mention if you actually had watched Jordan play you'd know the guy whined about calls like a modern day player. And if you were in the same timezone as him it was considered a flagrant foul.I'll bite. He micromanages everything. MJ complained but guys were getting fouled harder back then. How long do you think some of todays players last with the physicality of then? Lebron cries if you breath on him. The European stars became a lot more successful with the rule changes and I think that's the biggest impact of the rules. European guys flourish today. I love Curry but he's not breaking his 3PT record every other year with the rules they had? Wesbrook isn't avg a TD IMHO either. I don't think Lebron is a horrible player by any means. Just incredible hard as a player to root for especially when your a Bulls fan and have this guy compared to him every step of the way. 1 it's totally different era, 2. Lebron came out from HS and hasn't missed a season so he has roughly 4 1/2 yrs on MJ with his injury and 1 missed season. So I don't think comparing their stats is fair to either guy.I just looked up Jordan's contract. He signed a contract through 1991 when he was drafted. *Not a fan of Jordan or LeBron. Bill Russell is the GOAT. Kareem (like Russell) had more titles and MVPs than Jordan. The only reason they aren't in the GOAT discussion with Jordan is the sportswriters of today were 10 years old when Jordan was winning. 20 years from now LeBron will be the GOAT and Jordan, Russell, Kareem will be ignored.
